Does anyone know if you can enter Russia from the Latvian border without having problems regarding covid? I'm asking because as far as I know you can only enter by air but because of the special operation in Ukraine finding a flight directly from London is impossible.

I live in Moscow for now. I'm not American, but I look quite foreigner / Western.
There are different opinions. I asked a WG recently about her opinion about the current military operation (don't use the term "war" if you are in Russia, it can bring you legal problems), she said that she has relatives in Donbass. These have been terrorized by the Neonazis of the Azov Regiment for almost 8 tears, so she is 100% pro Z.
Last summer the New York Yankees caps were Very Popular in Russia. Trendy. Last week was sunny, so I went to a grocery store with the cap. The cashier looked at my cap and then noticed my accent (it was a issue with card), then she behaved unfriendly. I didn't understand why. Some days later I went to the same grocery store. This time wearing no cap, 100% she didn't remember me, when she asked for "Paket nuzhno" I just nicked. No sound from my mouth, her behavior was much better. If it's connected to the current political situation I don't know.
The US Embassy posted this waring:
"Do not travel to Russia due to the unprovoked and unjustified invasion of Ukraine by Russian military forces, the potential for harassment against USA Citizens by Russian government security officials, the singling out of USA Citizens in Russia by Russian government security officials including for detention, the arbitrary enforcement of local law, limited flights into and out of Russia, the Embassy's limited ability to assist USA Citizens in Russia, COVID-19 and related entry restrictions, and terrorism. USA Citizens residing or traveling in Russia should depart Russia immediately."

The fact that the president's son (also a monger like us BTW) was 'allegedly' involved in financing biolabs in Ukraine, which could be used to produce bio weapons doesn't give the US a good name at the moment.

I'd like to travel as soon as possible. Perhaps I can take advantage of the weak ruble. How are Muscovites treating Westerners especially Americans? As I understand it, before the war, there was a generally positive attitude.

I'm curious because the US State Department is advising Americans not to go to Russia and if you are already there, leave immediately.
