Posts: 11Visiting clubs in Santa Fe after 11 pm. Bad idea?
I am arriving fairly late to Bogota and I think the earliest I'll be ready to go out is 11 pm. At the same time it is a pity to lose a night staying in hotel. Days off from work are limited so wasting just one of them does not make me happy.
So I wonder if taking a taxi / uber and visiting one or two clubs in Santa Fe (it seems they are all located around a single block) is a stupid idea from safety point of view? Are they open at that time? Are there good attendance and choice of options at this time in the middle of the week?
Any other recommendations for something fun to do for a few hours between 11 pm and 1 am?

I spotted a very hot girl a few days ago who has a potato chip / candy stand.
I've casually walked by and said Hola a few times, with no real response.
Until yesterday.
Yesterday I saw her walking up the street and towards her candy stand.
I discreetly followed her.
When she got there, there was someone else attending the stand, and she chatted with her.
I sat down on a concrete pillar nearby and stared a bit, smiled some, trying not to look like an idiot, LOL.
She eventually walked my way, I said Hola and we engaged.
I convinced her of what a cool guy I am and that I'd love to make a friendship and hinted at my generosity to girls who take of me.
Well, low and behold, we ended up in a motel room together, and boy oh boy did we have fun.
She literally attacked me, and all natural.
Like I said, Bogota is good to me.

Posts: 1078Bogota Bogota Bogota. Is good to me.
Specifically Santa Fe.
I was suppose to leave for Medellin a few days ago, however, this has been so good and fun, I've extended here in Bogota a couple times now.
I love Santa Fe.
Other guys may feel in danger, may not like the appearance of it all, I get that, however, I dig it!
I'm just a regular guy, however, I'm well traveled, experienced in the game and speak very good, non native Spanish.
The past week plus walking about Santa Fe I've met some pretty cool chicas.
Most girls I either walk by, ignore, say Hey, hola, whatever, however, I've really hit it off with several special chicas.
Total lovey dovey times, and again, no door knocks, because I iron all that out before entering the room.
The Military Police guys that are all around Santa Fe are mostly pretty cool.
I've had good conversations with groups of them throughout my stay.
Most are pretty curious about the USA, some like to practice their english.
I'm prior military, so we talk a little about that as well.
Walking around now, I get lots of fist bumps from these guys, LOL.
Last night one MP directed me against the wall for a random search, another one of them approached and said "no, no el es un amigo", and we chatted a little and I moved on.
The regular police are out as well, mostly stopping cars and motos checking them out.
I'm not really a club guy, I enjoy the street scene, tho I stop in at times.
I find the street girls generally much more sweet, less pro.
Obviously there are the street hard pros out, I just keep walking by them. No big deal.
Fun times!
I'll eventually get to Medellin, got a few Paisas I want to see.
For now, the Chamas of Santa Fe have been good to me.

Posts: 84Few quick notes from my recent visit to Bogota. As I mentioned in my previous post "Zaira" gave me her cell number for "next time" which I used. She came to my hotel for a 2 HR date for 380 mil. Upcharge for BBBJ was 40 mil. So all in less than what her agency rates would be. I love this chica. We mesh really well. Split a couple bottles of wine, ate some snacks I had prepared. She's a real sweetheart. I'm planning to see her again soon. Her age on the agency page is a lie, as she's a few years older. My original guess of late 20's was accurate.
The next day I felt like I needed a lunch break from work and looked to see who was available and picked "Natalia" from eroticas Bogota dot com. She only has one picture online, but if you message them over whatsapp, they'll send more. She's stunning, easily one of the best looking girls I've been with in the hobby. Beautiful face, smile, white teeth, perfect hourglass body. Speaks decent, but not fluent english. Definitely decent enough for an hour or two. Was a bit odd in that she asked to use my condoms rather than the ones she brought. Her CBJ was forgettable, as they all are. But once in, ughhh. She's a closed lip kisser. We moved through a few positions and I came in doggy because that. Ass. The agency page is also lying about her age. She's advertised at 19, but she's 23-24. I know that because she told me she was a flight attendant for a couple of years until covid, and I know you can't do that unless you're at least 18. So. Math. She's at least 22. Not that it terribly matters, but figured I'd point out the agency lies.

The pickpocket incident; I was a little ways from him in a crowd and I was wondering why why this lady was talking to him-- they were quick-- and DC did not even know until a minute or two later-.
Again you were using a cane which attracts scumbags.

Posts: 417When Running with the Devil. No where is "safe"
My first trip To BOG 1 hour after checking in. 2 teenagers (drug addicts) ran after me in the middle of the main street downtown. Fortunately my time spent in Tijuana taught me to see out of the back of my head. Spun around grabbed one, threw him into the street. The other grabbed for the wallet. I grabbed him, we went down in traffic fighting while busses went by. . I kicked him in the balls. 20 Killer bees showed up. Beat the living hell out of them. Years ago. While walking with Woodman an old woman stopped to ask me?'s. (daylight downtown) her accomplice stole my fake (Mexican wallet 25 pesos) MORALE - 1st go to HKTJ watch the drug dealers from their restaurant balcony. Maybe see some gun play. (I have) Then go to BOG. You will be safe (sort of). Better yet- Watch the movie (was it a real story?) Nick Gage made in BOG next door to BD Bacatá where I stayed. One night there were 20 killer bees racing after some criminal and one was standing on the back of the motorcycle shooting at them. Big gun! WOW, this was not a movie. Running with the Devil. That actress is HOT!

Navy Federal has no fees and reimburses other bank ATM fees, although only $5 per month.
I also withdrew 2 million from my Fifth Third card at a cost of $489.47, or 4086.052 COP per USD.
Formerly, Fifth Third charged about 5% in fees, so I could get a bit better rate shopping around the exchange houses. I'm not sure when they got rid of the fees.

Posts: 5496Time Needed to go from airport to Santa Fe and back on a layover
The question was recently asked if 4 hours is enough time to leave the airport, get a girl and get back to the airport. The answer is yes.
Last night I left Hotel Aloft, which is a short walk away from the Portal El Dorado Transmilenio station, at 7 pm. I walked to the station, got on the bus and went to Santa Fe. I was in Santa Fe for about 1 hour 30 minutes and was back in the hotel by 9:20.
If you add 20 minutes for the bus from the airport to Portal El Dorado and 20 for the bus back (which is excessive), it can easily by done in 3 hours.
The bus to Santa Fe is route L10 and get off at Calle 22. The bus back is route K10 and Portal El Dorado is the last stop. I think cost was 2350 pesos each way. You'll need to get a Tu Llave card and put some money on it. It doesn't expire. I still had enough on my card from last year, but added 10 k more.
Of course, it helps when you hand the money and the Tu Llave card to the woman in the booth instead of money and your hotel room key card.

Posts: 707"In all my trips, I've never been able to get full exchange rate"
And you never will, in Colombia. I use XE.com to get the official rate and if you get within 100 pesos of that, your doing good. The only place I ever got equal to or even slightly above the official rate was in Rio. There was a small jewelry store on Miguel Lemos that gave great rates if you had $100 bills. It was crazy, this place has the door wide open, no guards nothing but they were changing money like crazy, Never a hold up, nothing! I once said to the boss, you don't need a guard? He looked at me and laughed. Obviously connected. If you messed with these guys you would end up in tires jaja.
