So this morning I went and hit the ATM and pulled out $600 k COP to have spending cash for the day. So I replied "este billete no es mio, usted me lo cambio el billete" Then he was like "no es cierto ese billete es suyo" and I was like "donde estan la policia, vamos a ver, vamos por la polica" and then he was like "si usted no quiere pagarme esta bien, bien pueda. " then we got out of the taxi and I was looking for a cop but unfortunately there wasn't one around and the taxists drove off. He still got me for my $4 k COP vuelta which is only a dollar, but the way the full scheme works is an unsuspecting person (especially someone with less experience in Colombia) will think it was actually their own note that was fake and then hand the taxi a second bill in exchange for the fake one and the taxista gets over on you twice..

Yeah so not too many people are going to give advice to someone who says they will show up and overpay. And it's really hard for a group of five presumably first timers to get through any amount of time in Colombia without somebody doing something stupid and causing a problem, especially with a stated intent to throw money around.

I would agree with this. Medellin is not the place to have a bachelor party unless you're willing to play by a different set of rules, already have trusted contacts, speak fluent Spanish or have a lot of experience in the city. Risk / reward is not balanced in your favor.

Lots of questions for you.

The biggest one is, are you wanting an actual bachelor party, or is the plan to go to Medellin, go out and hit some clubs, drink, party, find girls and hope everyone gets laid?

If you want an actual bachelor party, big house, pool, food drinks, girls, let me know. I have someone who can handle setting up that type of event.

If it's just going to be bar hopping and then back to the hotel, there are other questions.

How many nights will you be in Medellin?

How much are the 5 willing to pay for high-end lodging?

Are you planning to continue partying in your hotel?

Are you wanting to already have girls setup each night, or are you hoping to pick them up each night?

All things are possible. It's just a matter of figuring out the best plan. If the plan is to find a nice place and just wing it, look into the Charlee Hotel. It's convenient and the nightclubs of Parque Lleras and Provenza are right there.

Some advice for you, consider that you are a target wherever your going, and that no area is any safer than the other.

Yeah and this guy in particular is a prime target. Anybody who has to ask if it is safe to go to El Centro should not go there. Insufficient experience. And this guy needs to RTFF but I doubt he'll actually show up in MDE.

It's not my recommendation, just telling you what else is there. Look across the street and you will see this club. This is probably 80 K. Another one to the right is cheaper. You can look up the from the WT69's list? What you get depending on your negotiation. At least in the club, you can safely do so with translator and privacy. 80 K vs 45 K is not that much different costwise for a one time experience.
