I ventured to SP, Curitiba, Campinas, Rio de Janeiro, and Recife. I reccomend SP for most needs and especially to first timers as it is the only place where you will find any locals that can speak English. There are a handful of American expats living in SP, several more live in Rio.

I'll get it out of the way and say that Rio does have some Pros over SP:

Cheaper in general unless during holidays.

A much more intuitive metro system that is much easier for a foreigner to use.

And it is the place to go if you prefer darker women.

An interesting note is that SP, RJ and Recife all had different dialects. Not even accents, simple words are pronouced completely differently. I did not spend enough time in Rio to give a fare assesment but safety was the largest Con and a frequent concern. I spent my time in SP almost exclusively in VilaMariana, Moema, Ibiripuera and even Consolocao and I always felt safe. Republica and Centro in Sao Paulo are not, especially at night.

Clinicas-Tangara, Moema Prime, Miruna. That is all you need to know. I practically lived at Tangara, at 120 you can't beat the price and they have fair priced bar downstairs. The owner (a woman) even started feeding me. I checked out many others but those 3 were the most consistant with quality and rooms.

Boates- hyperinflation has made the nightclubs less tenable. You're basically paying Europe prices when you add up the fees. Many girls expect a minimum of 500 per hour. At Casarao Augusta most will go down to 400. My compatriots and I have all but written off Scandallo, girls there want 1,000. CafeFoto new location was reportedly 350 to enter and HAS NO rooms. Gaugin was dead when we went Thursday, it was 200 to enter and they still tried cheating me on the nunber of drinks I had. Prices were more reasonble at Connection but lineup was mediocre. In this respect the larger Termas in Rio like 4 x4 are actally better because its one house fee and the girls are mostly nude.

Brasilian people ultimately made the trip a positive one. Mostly friendly amd easy to get a long with. They very much like to be social with English speakers.

Have been here for almost a week and the below have been my experiences:

Girl 1: Giovanna from Abbobora. Abbobora has a impressively consistent lineup with all the girls between a 6. 5 and a 7.5 in my book.
