Oh that's not a problem. There is a nice Starbucks over at plaza Rio. I get my cappuccino there and a donut on the corner. Can't beat that breakfast combo anywhere.

First, it would help if you can define your idea of a good breakfast.

If it's an omelet or eggs Benedict, it's hard to beat Ticuan's restaurant. If it's coffee and a Danish, I can think of several places. If it's pancakes, the quality of them is hit and miss in Tijuana. If it's hash browns, fried eggs and a thick slice of Virginia ham, best to stay in the States because that pretty much doesn't exist in Tijuana. So, being more specific will improve your replies.

I don't really know a good American breakfast spot, but like others have mentioned they have iHop. I like Cafe de la Flor and some spots in La Cacho. I can't recall names at the moment. The great thing about living in Tijuana is finding new spots all of the time to try. They are so bad at advertising and you just notice a restaurant in the corner of your eye and just try it. I would imagine they have to have some kind of diner near Centro or Revolucion to cater to the expat crowd. Ricardo's as mentioned before is decent and near Las Pulgas. Fat Cat is decent in Rosarito. Also most mongers probably don't wake up until afternoon since they stay up until the early morning. Just explore, research, and have fun!

    American breakfast

Don't know how American a breakfast has to be. Azul's breakfasts are terrible with runny eggs, unripened fruits and instant coffee. La Perla serves tiny alleged American breakfast with instant coffee.

If you have to have the standard American breakfasts, walk to the McDonalds on corner Calle 2 and Ninos Heroes. They serve the same breakfasts as in the US, scrambled eggs, sausage or ham, hash brown, toast, pan cakes, brewed coffee, juice ect.

I walked out to the Liberty Path, sat on the sidewalk under a palapa at Tacos Locos. Their desayuno with eggs ranchero was tasty, but the chorizzo tasted pretty bad.

Thank you. I have stayed at the Marriott last two time I was there and the breakfast is ok but just average with omelette being pretty good. But just not a lot of variety for me thanks for the input!

I had a reason I asked the question and it was answered below. Why post on my question if you only want to waste time. I clearly understand about the food in Tijuana. For example one of my favorite places is El Rodeo. However breakfast is my energy for the day meal and I like American style breakfast. My choice!! The last two times I stayed there at the Marriott the breakfast was ok but average at best. So looking for something better!

Directly across the street from Hyatt Place Tijuana is Paseo Chapultepec, an open air mall. Paseo Chapultepec is home to two banks and various bars, stores and restaurants. This area is extremely secure with many guards. Tried Bodega 8 in Paseo Chapultepec and it was absolutely delicious. Looks like locals dress up to go here but there doesn't appear to be an enforced dress code. The beets were ridiculously delicious. I had no idea beets could be that tasty and got some strong morning wood the day after. Beets are good for boners. Besides the beets everything served was a hit.
Paseo Chapultepec has 3 other very good high end restaurants as well.

You can ask for something besides beans as a side dish if you simply cannot abide them. All will offer toast or tortillas. Most Mexican coffee is good, some better than others.

If you want a buffet, the Grand Hotel has a killer on on Sundays. Pueblo Amigo has one, too, or at least they did pre-Covid. Ticuan has one, but I think it sucks. I'm in the minority. I prefer Ticuan's regular breakfast menu and I eat it semi-regularly. They have very good omelets.

Warning: a breakfast sausage in Mexico is essentially a hot dog. Unless you like hot dogs for breakfast, don't order them. Stick with bacon or ham. A lot of places use turkey ham, and the menu will usually say so. So, if you have to be American, stick with bacon.
I love the eggs benedict at Ticuan. I get it by room service with a large fresh squeezed OJ for less than $15. As good as any anywhere at a fraction of the price.
