If you want eggs, ask a local the costs then go with someone the first time to buy eggs. Tell the vendor you will be back the next day. Pay the same price. The vendor will be happy to have a Mazunga at their stand. When it comes to transportation, tell them what you will pay to go someplace before going. Housing varies greatly. There are no general rules.

He also mentioned that girls who work in the supermarket close to where he lives (Entebbe) work 15 hrs / day 6 days / week earn 250 k ($70) per month. These should be the reference points.

Take an African girl to an expensive restaurant is just utter waste of money.
I don't keep books but in the region of 100 to 150 USD a month should be more then enough. Always consider how low the salaries are.

Neddy, I remember you mentioning you had a girlfriend in Uganda. How did you decide what was appropriate? I don't remember the exact amount but I know it wasn't much. You must have had some guidance or baseline you used to get to that amount.

In Pattaya there's several large condomiums with small 25 m2 one bedroom / bathroom / balcony studio's. They throw in some cheap slow wifi. Like Nirun Condo. They charge $100 for these rooms.
This is what I need. My budget is $100. Does anyone know buildings like this?
AirBnb is too expensive, non negotiable so far. This should just be this large flat with identical rooms where Ugandan's live. Around Kabalagala preferably. Have been watching the road for buildings with "Court", "House" and "Apartment" but no luck so far.
Real Estate Agency's don't deal in these things. Boda Boda was better but so far nothing in my range.

Posts: 1Small safety deposit box in Kampala for a tourist
I need to rent a small safety deposit box in Kampala. Say 5 x 12 x20 cm at least in size.
For 6 months but I could pay for a year if the price is right. It should be available for a tourist. Some banks might deny non residents.
Not too expensive. Any idea where? Not with the hotel, preferably a bank?
