I just wanted to add 2 things.

First, you guys are confusing cause and effect.

People died on ventilators (effect) SO, ventilators caused their deaths (cause). As PVMonger mentioned, people are put on ventilators because their lungs are not oxigenating the blood. When the organs don't receive enough oxygen they start to fail or shutdown and death follows. Ventilators are a last resort to help the patient oxigenate their blood and hopefully their lungs heal sufficiently to be taken off the ventilator.

My second point is that perhaps you should think of it in football terms. Your team has 5 seconds left in the 4th quarter and your team is down by 5 points. They are at mid-field. What do you do?? You throw a Hail-Mary. Its a low percentage play (unless you have Aaron Rodger as your quarterback) but its the play that gives you a chance.

Your scenario: Biden waives a magic wand and oil floods the market as the Red Sea parts. Supply chains are mended overnight. China comes back on line but demand from them is way less than anticipated which does not cause inflation to rise. The Russia-Ukraine war is over, and Russian oil comes back on the market. Inflation craters to 2%. If all that happens and Biden is the miracle worker you think, that means prices in the stock market stay where they are.

For stocks to go up, it is not enough that oil demand and supply match each other. No, we have to be swimming in oil, and the only scenario I see with which that can happen is a recession that destroys demand.
