Personally I find Amitie Musica the best Congolese band with the most balanced sound and the best singers. They are playing every weekend in the Summit Grill in Bombolulu, on Wednesdays in Bamburi and sometimes in the Maasai Beach Club in Nyali.

Ambro + band is at Mios (Bamburi town) on Thursdays. I think he plays somewhere almost every day.

I will check out Amitie Musica one Wednesday when I'm back in Kenya (Sky Lounge, Bamburi town).

    Don't discount country music

The amount of ladies who know and love old school US country can't be ignored. If you include those in your playlist, Maximum fun. Speak from experience.

    Maybe

Before covid there was this Band at club Africana (I've heard it's closed now) in Dubai who played Congolese music and during Ramadan they went to Nairobi and played there. But I didn't know where.

I did some investigations with the name you told, takes a bit time but I found out it could be possible that some live music is playing at.

    Treasures Gardens Argwings Kodhek Rd.

    Hera Aqua Gardens Kandara Rd.

And maybe K'Osewe Ranalo Foods Kamathi St CBD.

I will take a look if it's true when I'm there.

And yes during covid many things have changed.

In Mtwapa there was Legends. Also kaputt now.

There was a guy named Ricky Mulolo and band.

    Exiting after Extension

FYI: Stayed in Kenya for 6 months. Got one extension.

Went to immigration in CBD a few days before my flight and they were surprised I hadn't got this endorsed. They wrote on a page of my passport that an extension had been given. I didn't see if this was actually checked at the airport.

A little off-putting because I don't remember reading during the online extension process that this was necessary!

Payment is a subtle thing. Many girls are not used to it (those I prefer), some blush, some are shocked and to some it is like preaching to a converted.

Over the years I have had plenty of girls in Nbi ask for 20-30 k and even as much as 80 k. If a girl is not short of cash when you ask her price for the deed then they will quote silly amounts in the hope that some idiot pays it and yes some do.

I find there is still plenty to be had for 3, 4, 5 k.

I am not sure what the girls are asking for in the bars where the wazungu frequent these days if anyone knows please update.

    Price for different people

It must be understood that there are different prices for muAfrica, muIndi, musungu, Turists. There is also another price for stupid tourists and this has no limit.

Living in Nairobi is more expensive than in Mombasa, so girls ask more money. I don't know what is medium prize in Nairobi.

When Nairobi girls visit Mombasa (often, for vacation)), they ask Nairobi prices or some crazy prize, and their mouth literally drop down when I tell them that I can get girls for two thousand for night. Last time I visited Diani, one Nairobi girl asked me eight thousand, next one ten thousand, and later one twenty thousand. These were all short time prizes of course.

I assume there's nothing else needed, but I don't need problems at immigration when I try to leave!

(To the guy below, I bet you could mess around at night in Easleigh. If you didn't walk anywhere or have more than 2 beers. But once you're in a bar, you're fine.).
You are right. Stay over 90 days you actually have to (should apply) for a Non resident alien ID. Not much use though. By the time it was issued usually after months its expired already.

    Mwalimu.

Who's actually planning to hang out in Eastleigh.

    Better to do it.

Yes theoretically you need to do so.

Pre eFNS most people did not realize because the immigration officer (usually) automatically did it when extending the Visa.

Even if they don't control it strictly, it is better to do it.

If you don't and come across an immigration officer in bad mood or need of extra money, you might get into trouble.

Theoretically you then also should receive an Alien ID Card, which is helpful because it's recognized and you don't have to carry your passport all the time anymore.

Usually you never get it cause it takes them more than 3 months to issue it.

So my advice would be, to pass by at the immigration office to avoid any future possible trouble.

    Keep us updated.
