As others have stated they don't care what you wear but do try and have some respect for how you look. Just because you are paying for a girl to be with you she doesn't want to be with a slob.

Also if your not familiar with Mexico it is rare to see males wearing shorts, the younger generation might carry on this tradition less but to go to an establishment in shorts is rare. I'm sure most tourists like wearing shorts for comfort and the easy access when sitting with a girl. Was in San Diego this past April for work, went back again in May for vacation and crossed over to Tijuana both times. Have gone to Tijuana dozens of times over the past 10+ years knowing very, very little Spanish and have gotten by perfectly fine. Filling out the FMM online and printing out beforehand greatly reduces the chances of Mexican customs officials shaking you up for cash in my experience (assuming you're referring to the Mexican customs at the border cross and not actual Mexican policia). I've personally never been hit up for bribes by customs with the exception of twice a couple years ago when I tried to cross with a recently expired passport (which in my opinion made me fair game to extort LOL).

I'm sort of done paying $6-7 for a taxi. If I can't get a taxi and it's not too late I just take the taxi vans they have on the left once you cross the border to Revolucion and then walk the rest of the way to Zona Norte (about 5 minutes). Only 75 cents for those vans though not sure if the price for those has gone up in the past couple of months with inflation.

If you cross on a Friday night dressed like a frat guy at a kegger they will probably pester you to buy the FMM. I usually cross on a weekday in the morning / afternoon and never get hassled.

This report is from March trip to San Diego. I was there for work. I had sometime on hand. Given that I have an old friend there who knows the lay of the land, I decided to cross the border. Used the walkway to cross with car parked on the right side of the border. Always sketchy this area. Recommend having a Spanish speaking wing man. Walkway cross was easy. The Mexican cops shook us for some cash or threatened to deport us. Cost me 20 dollars to get a special permit. 7 dollars for taxi 100 dollars for pussy 30 dollars for the room. LOL no. Just wear what you're most comfortable with. I've hit those clubs multiple times with a tank top shirt, gym shorts, and flip flops and there was never an issue. Mexico in general is more relaxed with their "dress codes" though again, there isn't one here. Just wouldn't do anything super crazy like try to come in shirtless or completely disheveled. Only thing I'll say as far as dressing up is there are certain girls who will be more likely to approach you if you're dressed a bit more nicely. But at the end of the day all they care about is your cash not how you're dressed.

So yes you need green but when you leave the club to go up to Cascadas, you will have a nice pretty lady by your side. Keeping is classy is not a bad idea IMHO.

The dress code is color green (a lot of green dollars in the wallet) There is no dress code, in the summer I'm in short pants, aloha or no aloha shirt and sneakers. Baseball cap ok.
