I have heard this more than once in Brazil. I suffered for two weeks last time I was there too. Paid more than USD 300 to see a doctor and ran a bunch of tests but did not show anything.

I personally recommend getting a Schwab or TD bank account for international hobbying, as both have 0 to low minimum balance requirements and reimburse ALL ATM fees.

Make sure to decline conversion on ATM withdrawals Always let your bank determine the exchange rate, which will be close to market rate. When using a credit card, also make sure you are paying in BRL and not USD / Euro, etc.

I personally prefer Bradesco or Satander ATMs in the city, as they have minimal ATM fees and almost always let your bank do the conversion. I also occasionally use the ATM at GRU near the Starbucka in Terminal 3 just before you exit. My frienda and I have used this bank of ATMs without issue / fraud / card cloning, etc.

I used to say the same thing about air travel too. First Class / Business Class isn't worth it. I'm flying on the same damn plane going to the same damn place and paying so much less riding back here! Well, after I flew Business Class for the first time, there was no happily going back to Coach Class ever again!

I know what you are talking about. Today I checked flights to Germany with Lufthansa and to my surprise the business class was cheaper than the economy class. European business class is not very good, but still worth paying little bit more to avoid the lines and not having anybody sitting next to you etc.

The below are my impressions after a week in São Paulo, and two weeks in Buenos Aires. Both are amazing cities with tons of attractive women. São Paulo definitely has the edge in weather, sunshine and the sheer number of options.

I should mention that my preference is medium-term relationships measured in weeks and months, and that my Spanish is decent while Portuguese is rapidly improving. I like to go to nice restaurants, learn new things from conversations, form an emotional connection and genuinely enjoy helping them financially.

Let's start with the first flavor, clubs such as Scandallo. I was there maybe 3 times earlier in the week. Not all it's cracked up to be (as recent posts suggest). I found maybe 3 girls who met my requirements. True to my preference, I picked a hot young 20 year old with a near perfect body. There was very little emotional connection and the conversation was frankly dull. Nevertheless, I repeated with her 3 x during the week to try to figure out why. It seems like she's primarily focused on $ and less interested in anything long-term. Ultimately unsatisfying. Tonight I'm going to try to experience Scandallo as it was meant to be experienced, I. I was in Buenos Aires for two weeks before, and I enjoyed the city immensely. Winter is not the best time to go, weather-wise, and the food was not quite as diverse as Brazil or Colombia, but the women make up for it. One thing which was interesting was the range in pricing, from $100-$300 (one actually asked for $2000). I'm always willing to pay for quality, although next time I'm there I'll probably negotiate down more and pay in pesos. The situation with inflation in Argentina makes the country very cheap to live in.

I went to Ibirapuera mall. Claro on the first floor was useless. On the second floor, Claro sold the sim and data package, the mall is adjacent to a metro line. I traveled ave Paulista with all the banks. None of the ATMs from Santander Banco do Brasil, Caixa, or Itaú worked to withdraw funds on my visa card. Only Bradesco ATM. Thanks for the pro tip Fewdie declined the conversion.

A newbie observation does pay the house upfront or pay after the deed is done. Different clinical, different rules of paying.

Strip clubs. More expensive, expect $150-$200 a session. You often have to take them out and then add love motel cost on top. Girls tend to be of very high quality, but its not cheap by SA standards.

This may be a stupid question, but where / what are the strip clubs? That's usually my go to in unfamiliar territory, but I don't see any listed on Google maps. I would kill for a strip club right now.

In terms of the currency, that was problematic for me too. Coming by way of Brazil that meant I didn't have much in the way of dollars on me. Western Union is the best option for that, as it gives you pesos at what they call the Dollar Blue, or real exchange rate rather than the fake rate ATMs give you. With Western Union you can send yourself money at a rate of 300 pesos per dollar as opposed to the 130 the official rate offers. The downside there is almost none of the Western Union stores actually have cash. I tried to do $500 US, and literally only the big store downtown could process it. I literally initiated a second transfer while waiting in the 2 hour line.

On the ground in Moema. Prime is walking distance from the apartment hotel. . Three or four girls were available at 2 pm. She called more chicas while I waited. A few new to me observations. 57 Friends: This one is a bar rather than a clinica, and one of the places I'd go at night. Drinks are expensive by local standards, but not unreasonable, and it had no entry fee. Girls are basically clinica prices, which is nice. My second best session happened here, and I saw several amazing looking women my first day who I wanted to session with. I went back many times, but never saw any of those women again, and the ones I did see were nothing special. My impression is quality is inconsistent, but you have the potential to see some all stars if you catch the right night. I wish I had found one of two more places like this for the rotation. And an offer of 500 reals is absolutely not competitive for a top hottie at a place like Scandallo given current exchange rates. If you don't want to pay Scandallo prices, then just don't go to Scandallo versus coming here and scolding mongers who do choose to go there about what they pay Scandallo tutes. It's just that simple. Don't fight a losing battle against the system. Don't fight the man. Because nobody is really listening. The clinicas are you! Because you see, just like cars (Buicks, BMWs, and Bentleys), the value of all women is not the same for each and every one of them. You may not think it's worth it to pay that kind of money for that "expensive ride". But, plenty of other people do. And will. I used to say the same thing about air travel too. I was in Argentina about 6 months before covid hit, and had 3 weeks in BA. The scene is very different to what it used to be. Many of the major venues to find freelancers have closed down. You can see how the activity in the Argentina section of this forum has fallen off a cliff too. Its not what it was 15 years ago, although there are still an endless supply of working girls.

Newport is gone. Hook is gone.

So that leaves:

In general, there are a lot of Paraguayans and Uruguayans that ply their trade there too. I do not know what is in the water in Paraguay, some of the women I have had from there have been ridiculous. Given all the border restrictions of late, I am not sure if these girls are going to be around in the same numbers.

The other thing to consider is that the economy is a mess. Thats both good and bad for you as a tourist. Your dollar goes further, but the currency issues often mean that they are just pricing things in dollars anyway so you get no benefit from the exchange rate really. The other massive problem is actually being able to get cash. The ATM's limit what you can draw in local currency, so you really do need to go in with a lot of USD and exchange when you are there. I only went in with about 3 k, and I should have gone in with way more. At the same time the state of the economy has some amazing part timers looking for a bit of extra cash on the side.

My view is that its not great for a short trip unless you are going with people who are well plugged into the circuit as is stands today. If you are looking to spend a month or longer, the longer you stay the better it gets. If you are not a Spanish speaker, a short trip will also be quite tricky.
