Just an Asian gringo looking to spend some decent vacation time in the Dominican Republic for the first time next weekend for 1 week. My Spanglish is okay but not strong enough to pick up a chica at the bar. I've already jumped on the Tinder app wagon and have several decent chicas talking with me. I have only been to Sosua once. My girlfriend at the time wanted her hair done. We were in Cabarete. I dropped her off at a salon near Sosua -maybe 5 miles east of town. I drove into town and drove around for about 15 minutes. It was a Saturday afternoon and there was an outdoor bar. Sosua is very small and easy to get around. The action is not in your face so you can have peace when you want it. As well as hotels there are some excellent airbnbs. Read reviews and choose accordingly.

I appreciate the clarification OldKool. It was the only hang up between me deciding on a place like Blackbeards (same fish in a barrel) vs. Trying my luck in the wild. Didn't want to drop money until I had a better idea. A lot of talk about guys hustling on here / being "Sharks" and language fluency is probably the most helpful. I guess I can be an awkward Stephen Hawking- translate off my phone haha.

Also, any particular expat bar where I can watch baseball and talk shit on the Yankees? And is there any real territory or set of blocks that I need to watch out for besides just being overall street smart? Is there some curfew thing or time when police shoo the working girls away every day? Think one person's post reminded everybody not to be walking around at 2 AM but all cities have their sketchier parts. EX: drive around the flat parts of Oakland and expect to be riding through gang territory eventually.

So I'm making my second trip to the Su next weekend and will be staying at Casa Valeria for the first time (the last time I did it wrong and rented a Villa outside of town). My question is that the Valeria policies page lists a pretty strict set of rules when it comes to "guests" (see below) including having to drop the ID off out front and only allowing one guest at a time. Do they actually enforce this with the chicas or is this just to prevent parties and keep things quiet?

Everything your saying is true. I reflected on all this after and those stripes are running deep. Time will tell if Angel keeps the same energy when I return with paying a local price. Some more context, I was coming off a rough 3 day stay in santo domingo and traveled to sosua for my last few days. I was negotiating none stop and couldn't get a reasonable price outside a massage parlor, so I went there wanting to end things on a high note. You can find my daily report through my profile.
