Walked from Centro to mercado Merced. On the way, close to Merced, that area has paraditas standing around the general neighborhood.

The area you describe which is San Pablo and north from the market along Circunvalacion both sides of the street. Also a couple of blocks east on Corregidora. We usually count about 100 and a handful of 7's on any given afternoon.

The Intenzzo is located on the west side at Insurgentes Sur #275 just a few yards north of the MetroBus stop Alvaro Obregon. The entrance is kinda obscure. It is next door to the Takotl restaurant. This is a report from my first and last (at the moment) trip to Mexico DF back in 1998 during a banking convention in a hotel in Paseo de la Reforma, a place I still love in Mexico DF. Let's get to the point.

The convention ran as expected, lots of IT (information and technology) expos and bla bla bla. But the convention night party was simply incredible, those days bikini and beauty competitions between the attendants was like a tradition. There were these Dominican and Caribbean beauties making a runway in the Antro, if my foggy mind does not fail, it was Alturias, a three floor building with 3 dancing floors. I took those pics in black and white film as you can see. I'm photographer since the early 90's. Man, as you can see two of our colleagues were stunners. See the girl in tight black clothes. I remember that music those days were Venga Boys, Ilegales and a the "Dance of the clown of Rodeo".

The last night of the convention me and three of our colleagues went to Zona Rosa night clubs, of course it was impossible to enter with a film camera, so you must trust my story. We went to a place called Platynum, maybe the entrance was around US $10.

Visited a estetica when I was there last. I won't put the word here because it might get flagged but it's a synonym for violation. It's one of the better known ones there considered good.

What would you say about safety of money and cell phone etc. ? Seems like they can be stolen easily.

I only carried cash, cellphone, and my own preferred condoms when I went here. I guess the dark environment does produce some concern, but I felt very comfortable with my stuff (my pocket does pretty deep and my cash is at the very bottom so someone has to really stick their hand in to grab it), and I typically have my cellphone in my hand. Overall, once you're in there, you'll realize everyone is just there to have a good time and having some beers, sitting back, talking to girls. Some of the guys who seem "off" initially. I talked to some of them and it seems that they were mostly just nervous and eased up once they started getting some action with the girls. It's a fairly mellow environment, it's not this jam-packed chaotic environment like the Tijuana clubs such as Hong Kong that I used to frequent (I like that environment too but was more paranoid about one of the 100's of people there grabbing something from my pocket). Once in the room with the girl, I have all my stuff in my pants and roll it into a tight roll (starting with the pocket side first), and then put everything else on top (shirt, cap, etc). There's no storage area but you can leave it in plain sight. You've got to be banging the girl with your eyes closed lustfully the entire time to have her be able to take something from you without you realizing, haha.
