So, I went to rakuten twice and took services of healing hands once. So my quick review here.

Rakuten is as described by OPs earlier. It's a legit massage with some / minimal fun. No teasing though really. I didn't take the cheap Thai massage, so they didn't give me the weird underwear to wear (my friend went to that one and he was weirded out, also because it wasn't room, there was just a partition). I took the 2 HR long oil massage (800 b) in a private room with shower. I was naked the whole session. At some point, she asked me whether I wanted to HJ. I said not now, towards the end. So that happened. It was okay. I paid 1000 be for extra (maybe too much, but I felt like giving).

The downside, both the times, the masseuse were not good looking. I did see some young nice ones downstairs, but you don't get to choose so I got what I got. But it was dark in the room, so it was ok. I was able to be a bit touchyfeeling, but they did not remove their clothes, so it wasn't much.

The massage both the times were really good.

The healing hands was a bit tricky. They do home service, so I had to ask if they have a place. They invited me to a hotel room where it was set up as a temp massage room. The massage was not that great, but she did do a bit of teasing. She got lazy with massage at some point though. Asked me if I wanted more and started negotiating. She looked pretty, if a bit old. I wouldn't go back again. Paid 2200 be in total, including massage and extras.

*I am still on a lookout for legit good massage with some extra fun (ideally a bit more teasing; price no issue). I haven't tried Savannah. I really hoped some girls at healthland would do it. Alas. *.

Historically, I would have agreed with the posters who say that good massages are not combined with good extras. That has been the history of my decades of experiences. Head out of Bangkok, they do not go there.

Bangkok HiSo Thais and Asians chase and prize light skin, so that is what is predominantly there.

You will find Pattaya has them, but older and often baby damage already.

Hua Hin has what you seek, as does Phuket away from Patong.

I have lived and worked here for a while now, so I have picked up on the Isaan girl mentality and demands.

I don't even try to fully understand the cultural nuances and why, I just accept they are there.

As well as living here, I work here, and thankfully that means I stay away mostly from the harder edged places, Bangkok, Pattaya and even Patong.

I live south in Phuket, Rawai, and we see here a different mix of the types of working girls.

As a foreigner it is hard to grasp the difference between a Western. Individualist society versus a Thai. Collective / Hierarchical Society.

In the west we base our decisions around our own selves or immediate family. Wife and kids.

In Thailand, particularly the north east region of Isan, decisions are made much more as a collective. Often a group of families living together or sharing resources. The individual's authority is laregly based upon what resources can be provided to the wider family structure.

So you will see working girls sending a good proportion of their earnings back the family. She is very much expected to contribute. This in turn bumps up her and her families status within the group. In the west we rarely or never do this, it just isn't part of our culture..

Like many of you, I'm planning a long-awaited return to SE Asia for late September / early October and I've been eagerly following all the recent reports here and it sounds like my timing might be pretty good. Things hopefully open enough that there are plenty of options, but not yet fully jam-packed with tourists everywhere as they were pre-pandemic.

I'm by no means a BKK expert, only been a small handful of times and usually just a day or two here and there, as often as not with family so I haven't had much opportunity to really explore. I do know that GoGo bars are absolutely not my thing, so I'm wondering about alternatives in the post-COVID world. I recall Spasso was an option for "higher end" (intentional quotes!) ladies several years ago, and I did have some great luck there one evening back in the day. I've also successfully fished the pond at Thermae, and have had good luck even with Smooci escorts (both independent and agency).

Are there other options now, or any new venues to check out?
