    My opinion

It's true that opportunists go to areas like El Poblado looking for targets, but throwing yourself into the mix in high crime areas like Manrique and most areas of Bello with little police presence, loads of poverty and plenty of potential perps about for the most part carries higher risk, especially if you are out late partying and like most are unable to blend in. That said there's little stats for this as most foreign victims don't report the crimes. Plus there's little sampling in one respect as few are dumb enough to go up the hill to Manrique to party. Even remotely honest hookers would advise against it.

So moral of the story? Be wary of personal testimonies in monger forums. Many are unreliable, plus some are just in ISG posting for fun, making stuff up, and have never been to Colombia. Plus if true one person's limited experience is insufficient to draw conclusions as they could run out of luck tomorrow.
The whole "machismo" aspect of "I get girls to fuck for free with just my hard cawkkkk". Feels strong in this thread. There are those that seem well edtablished with evidence but like I said before the whole crabs in a barrel feeling between men is quite powerful which I find extremely obnoxious. There will never be a time when the average ham and egger 9 to 5 er in America will be like "lets go to Colombia" Because in any war torn country of the past there will always be dangers and 95 % of Americans or even Western Europeans can't handle an environment without extremely government over regulation to protect them from thier own stupidity and familiarity with a McDonalds to spoon feed them at every corner particularly in the US.

So this idea of needing to keep 2nd teir specific safety knowledge a secret aside from general knowledge is stupid. Obviously, there is 1st tier generalized safety knowledge but in an environment where crime is rampant and to a certain extent idealized. 2nd tier specific knowledge is invaluable.

She then organizes invites, RSVP, Rappi, taxi payments, late night pizza, party supplies and most importantly she keeps an eye on things, and make sure place is clean etc. They stay overnight for the price of ST. There is a real friendship element there and not just about the phone. Phone happens because of friendship and not the other way. So all outlier spending should have some context. I typically buy one or two models down from the latest and they are very happy with that. I bought nearly 20 phones in 5 years..
You sound as though you vetted your girls very well before giving these girls phones, and the pay off is huge.

Makes sense to me, but not everybody has had such luck. A lot of times guys get so enamored with the sex with these Chicas that they want them available, so hence buying them a phone makes sense before they've truly vetted them like you.

I've done exactly what you've done for a few of my Chicas, but it wasn't "I" phones, but a good $ 100 USD smart phone and the pay off has been huge, ie; the long game as you mention.

For guys totally enamored, getting a girl a used phone makes more sense, especially for the ones not vetted.

    Sambombi

Saturday I decided to spend the night in Provenza with one of my Chicas whom I call Tall because she is tall. I like others her have nicknames as well for my Chicas based on their attributes.

I booked a room in a boutique hotel in Provenza of which there are a lot of them all over the area. I've stayed in several of them and consider a lot of them to be Love Hotel's, not in the sense you rent them for short time, but some are totally set-up for fucking meaning there is a king size bed, flat-screen TV, and aircon. Some of them have lots of mirrors, and I especially like the see thru showers at some of them. Kind of like perhaps Deseo's in Centro over half a century ago as far as the latest and greatest. I wonder some times if any of the mirrors on the ceilings there have ever fallen off, I'm sure they have. I've taken Tall to Provenza before, and the first time she was asking me what the mini-split AC unit was, what the exhaust fan in the bathroom was, and in one new place what the fire sprinkler system was. Of course she loved shampooing her hair, with hot water, and had never used a hair dryer before on her long beautiful hair.

Provenza is a barrio directly above the LLeras area with a lot of really good places to eat. My favorite there is Sombombi, and they hit it out of the park on Saturday. They change their menu every few weeks with some of the same, but always something unique on the menu. Last night I had some killer Sierra along with an incredible salad and a chicken dish. The place is very unpretentious, I've never seen a menu in English, but one or two people speak some English. The patrons are primarily Colombians, and the pricing is very reasonable as most dishes average about $ 10 USD. This place is very different than Carmen's and I think the food is just as good at a fraction of the price.

There are several other excellent places to eat in and around Provenza which I consider the fanciest part of Poblado for fine dining, versus the " dining dumps" in and around Parque Lleras. There's a bridge / intersection directly by the Quebrada that will have hundreds of tables / chairs set outside for dining in the streets as shown in the photo. To get to Provenza you walk up Calle 10 about four blocks up from Lleras and enter the area to the right, there will be a sign.

Forget going to Provenza to monger, you can go to the LLeras area for that.

That similar actions can produce different results in different mongerers. I won't go into the reasons why, it's multifactorial.

As far as a right to expressing opinion, of course everyone also has that coming to them, but when they cross the line projecting their opinion and experience over to others as dogma, that,'s when I will step up and tell you it's not necessarily so.

Everything's fine when you (not you, figure of speech, I'm voice texting on my new smartphone) speak for yourself but when you start speaking for others as dogma, then you better be damn sure. I don't speak for others on this topic and I can tell you the ones who do, are not sure. Perhaps they might feel they are doing a a valuable public services or warning others and some do need that advice, I can understand and appreciate that.

Yeah there is a lot of that going on for sure, jajaja

Once again, I just can't believe they all get their phones stolen and have so much sickness in their family.
I think there was one family by the time I ended up replacing all the "stolen" phones probably everyone in three generations had a phone, jajaja. Including grandma and the dog!

Chew on that one for awhile mi amigos, jajajajaja.

I'm confident this is very rare though, regardless of any anecdotes we may read here. Gifts are just that in the mind of a Latin hooker. You get a "mucho gracias" most likely then are charged the same for any sex going forward while they will become much less shy about asking for more gifts, material or monetary.

...Lastly, though there are always rare exceptions to all rules, the typical guy who thinks these girls are his friends is abundantly deluded. "This one is different," no, she almost surely is not. And yes, guys like myself who don't roll that way have a lot of fun like many others but avoid some avoidable headaches. Girls may like some guys who give them whatever they want, but they don't respect them. And even any personally liking will go down the shitter the moment the goodies stop flowing. So that's the other side of the argument, that has a place in an open forum as well.

    Enjoy gentlemen.

Freedom of personal choice in a lot of the situations we discuss here

Very few of us are going to agree on these examples nor should we. Sharing can be fun and I learn a few things along the way.

I know it seems like I'm obsessed on psychological defense mechanisms, but only because projection and denial run rampant here.

I get it, very hard for other guys to relate to a situation they would never consider, or just as, if not more likely, be able to complete even if they wanted to do so. Not saying you do.

The first step in psychologically protecting one's sense of self, is to reject concepts and behaviors that are too foreign for to conceptualize into one's own thought processes. That is mostly what is going on here, and not any real harm or waste or bad behavior.

I recommend downloading the app and not just connecting to the Google Translate Web page.

Earlier this week, I took delivery on a new Google Pixis 6 smartphone knowing that one of its features was that it does not need to be connected to the Internet to use the Spanish translator, it's preprogrammed. The phone also has dual-SIMS so you can drop in a SIM card from a local Colombian provider without losing the functionality of your carrier from the USA on the embedded eSIM. However, a fellow mongerer tells me this dual-SIM feature will not work in Colombia, for Google phones, yet. So that funcitionality remains to be seen for me, I will try it on my next return trip and report back.
You can download any language to your phone with Google Translate so it's available offline. You can do the same with areas in Google Maps.

What you believe doesn't change what is, and it's not important.

It doesn't matter what need some girl has, or claims to have. What matters is whether or not you want to give what she's asking for. If you don't want to, tell her no. If she persists, block her.

If you think you will somehow profit from giving, you're almost certainly wrong. The only guaranteed return on your investment is that the girl will ask you for something else.

Someone said it is all about camera. Not quite in my experience. I had a girl give me back Samsung Ultra 20 for iPhone 10 XS at the time when you 20 and iPhone 12 were top models. They want to see apple logo followed by number of camera lenses in the selfie mirror. I still ask if they want best camera or iPhone and they choose iPhone two models down. (One of the best value phones for camera is Xiaomi and no one in CO wants it at half price of equivalent iPhone with much better camera).
Obviously, you "get it" and much more than that, make it work. When I first came to this Web site, it was considered heresy if someone even suggested that a person "gifted" objects such as iPhones to these chicas. Fortunately, I concentrate on The Truth and not what others think. I am not trying to convince anyone else they should be buying iPhones but I am not going to pretend about what I do and what makes me happy. There are a lot of silent lurkers and observers who can see the situation for what it really it and are not swayed but opinions just because someone is a frequent flier here.

Your side comment about the camera was interesting and I agree somewhat. The camera is a status symbol from branding and for the quality of the fotos. You really can't argue about any loss of quality comparing the best of Samsung to the best iPhones.

My Numero Uno Novia Catgirl blew up on TicToc. She insists she needs her iPhone Pro Whatever to get the job done. As a result, she became financially independent from me for all her living expenses, so needless to say those iPhones were a worthwhile investment.

There are others who "get it" here but they just don't make as much noise as a few of the less enlightened detractors here. That's fine. They will make fun of you (us) for calling them our "steadies" or novias. They don't understand if your experience in real time is making you happy, then it works. They talk about getting laughed at or ridculed because that's how they see themselves in that situation, in order justify their unwillingess or inability to participate. In other words, classic projection.

I have never suggested anyone else should go out and buy two paper cups and a string for these chicas. I believe the "heart and soul" or the silent majority and a few of the other posters here, are more enlightened and open minded otherwise I would not waste my time. Oh, and thanks for the effective writing, also.

I am going to have one final major point on this topic later, but I am on the road right now, headed down to Florida. I just woke up so there may be cobwebs in this post, jajajaja. Ostee Out!

Where there are more tourists there will be a higher number of crimes involving tourists. So I don't think it was intended as advice to go to other parts. The actual crime rate is highest in the downtown area. But for crimes targeting tourists of course that would happen in the areas where there are more tourists.

If you have that much then you have much more then a lot of guys who have a very good time in Medellin. Google Translate has hugely improved over the years. Have it handy and you'll be fine.

Girls who speak English are rare which is good. The hookers are typically more hardcore in Latin American countries like Costa Rica where English is widely spoken. When they start telling you their rules in English and negotiating in dollars then it's a very bad sign. Wink.
