Outside of nuclear secrets and the location of spies, that is exactly what a Supreme Court case said, but it is a distraction. This has not been about charging Trump with a crime but retrieval of documents embarrassing to the FBI, Obama, and Biden.

What most Republicans find distasteful is the FBI raid was authorized by a hack judge. What bothers me is the warrant was illegal. A warrant has to be limited in time, place, and scope, and this warrant was not. It also was not signed by a neutral party. Thing is that the warrant being illegal will not be judged as such unless there is a criminal case, and there will not be.
