What evidence they had to support these statements was sketchy at best, often fraudulent and wrong. They should be held accountable for their lies, for ruining people lives. Their actions and staements have destroyed public trust, and that is perfectly understandable. I don't see how the world can ever recover from this episode TBH.

Actually, the only people who believe that the actions of Fauci, etc have destroyed the public trust are morons. Sure, people who don't understand science don't believe anything. People who don't understand viruses and vaccines don't believe anything. People who don't know diddly-shit about anything but their long-neck Bud and their single-wide don't believe anything.

Uh, big, big changes happen all the time as the result of our votes:

Repub Hoover had a gigantic Depression and lost millions of jobs. Dem FDR had a historic recovery and created millions of jobs.

Repub Eisenhower had 3 Recessions and produced one of the worst jobs creation results of any modern president. Dems JFK / LBJ had no Recession and produced one of the greatest jobs creation results ever.

Dem Jimmy Carter had a tiny pull back, it barely qualified as a Recession and it was purposely induced by the Fed in order to cool down an over-heated economy that was producing way more jobs than there were applicants to take them. That resulted in one of the best average annual jobs creation records of all time. Repub Reagan had one of the worst Recessions on record, the declining unemployment rate he inherited skyrocketed into double digits for almost a solid year and his average annual jobs creation was middling, significantly less than Carter's.

And, unlike Dem Carter, Repub Reagan tripled the national debt in order to under perform Carter's jobs cteation results.

Repub GHW Bush had a long Recession in 4 his years and one of the worst jobs creation records of any president. Dem Clinton had no Recession in his 8 years and produced one of the greatest jobs creation records in history.

Repub GW Bush had two Recessions, the second one so deep and horrible his own Treasury Secretary warned it might "destroy Capitalism as we know it". The unemployment rate skyrocketed and his jobs creation record was one of the worst in history. Dem Obama had no Recession in his 8 years and oversaw one of the longest and steadiest economic recoveries and jobs creation in history.

Repub Trump's "best" years fell below average among the 11 most recent presidents, wasted Trillions in deficit spending to under perform. Then he blathered, bumbled, left the country bare-ass naked against preventing or responding to it and eventually lied the world into a historic Pandemic that mass murdered millions, destroyed worldwide economies and supply-chains, skyrocketed the unemployment rate, plunged us into Recession and produced the worst jobs creation record since Repub Herbert Hoover.

Dem Joe Biden in just 19 months fully recovered all of the millions upon millions of jobs lost under Repub Trump and drove the unemployment rate back down to "Full Employment" level in record time.

Except it was not hindsight for JustTK, and it was not for me. TK said that he focused on his staying healthy and I rallied against lockdowns, travel bans, the vaccines when they did not work, social distancing, and masks in most cases. TK got blasted for "risking the lives of others" when he said he was not vaccinated, and I was called Elvira and Elvirus.
