First I spent 6 nights at Galleria on Soi 10. I stayed here pre-covid in 2019 and was very satisfied. I like the fact that it's just off the main street of Sukhumvit with not much else down there. , so pretty quiet. And a 2 min walk to Suk and Nana BTS. Pretty good buffet breakfast, pool on roof, decent beds, bathrooms.

For my return to BKK I booked my final 5 nights at Citrus on Soi 13. This is OK. The buffet a little weaker than Galleria but not bad. I checked out after one night, however, due to the pillows being much too thick for sleep, and no alternative being found. The reception asked the sister hotel for a slimmer pillow but none was forthcoming.

After leaving Citrus, I checked into CitiChic, a hundred meters down the street. Little did I know it is the 'sister' hotel of Citrus. Fortunately the pillows come in two sizes. Very friendly receptionist. Rooms OK. No breakfast here though. Nice pool on roof. This place is on the T junction which leads to the top of Soi 11, so super-convenient for the decent Villa supermarket (and Havana Social Club, a new favourite).
I had this same pillow issue at SiamSiam in Pattaya, they were too thick to sleep on. Walked across the street to Big see and bought a slim pillow for 79 baht.

I then stayed at SiamSiam a second time and this time two of the four pillows were slimmer so apparently they inadvertently gave me four thick pillows my first time there.

    Very!

I have not been there since Nov 2019 stupid covid! But back in DEC last trip got a real beauty from Crazy House. She wanted to walk there from soi cowboy. You do not even have to go through reception to get to your rooms. Just the smile of the guard at the door. Beds there are great. And nice mirror above the beds.

    Skyview Hotel Sukhumvit

Can anyone provide some insights for Skyview Hotel in Sukhumvit? Doesn't look that expensive for a 5 star hotel. Is it any good?

    Is the location convenient?

Also, how easily can I bring in girls with me and call for escorts to my room?

Also, the restaurant in the hotel does not seem to be listed in any descriptions of the hotel. Does anyone know of what the status of this hotel is? Thanks for any information you may provide!
Walking past it seems open earlier this week. It's taking bookings on booking. Would've stayed there myself last week but opted for another for a change. Hope the new cafe at its front right is decent when it opens. Currently behind work boards.

I carry a European passport so I am visa exempt, the only problem is that my passport has less than the 6 months validity. I read on some forums that if I have a return to my home town, that should be fine. That being said I don't want to get stranded in the airport and needing to do last minutes change should I not be allowed in, not to mention any penalties that could be applied. Does any one know how the immigration deal with that or has gotten through a similar situation?

    Thanks!
Most airlines would not even let you get on the departing flight.

You really cannot travel with a passport without 6 months validity. It is just asking for trouble.

You can renew your passport at any Embassy / Consulate in the world. It is very simple if you have an existing passport to present to the consulate or embassy. Less simple if you have lost it or there is another issue with it. You do not need to do it in your home country.

Most countries have an express service where they can renew it in a few days. However this does cost significantly more than the standard renewal fee for which can take a week or 2.

    Passport Validity / Visas.

The first thing to check before planning to travel to Thailand is the validity of your passport. International travel requires that your passport is not expiring within six months of your travel date. If you have less than six months left on your passport, you cannot enter Thailand.
Thank you very much for your help Stykler and AddieDad1. Sadly, I have rearranged my trip, but I will surely stop by whenever the opportunity arises.
