Yeah gpguia isn't very good for boites. I do find new GPS on Twitter et. Al. But have less luck with establishments like boites. For one thing their pages don't want to advertise for the competition and searching by hashtag has never worked for me. Let's hope somebody makes a visit to platinum and premium house and reports back. In the US we have a site Tuscl.com for strip clubs that is pretty lousy for review but does a good job of keeping track of the establishment. Just give me the list and I'll do the. Rest. LOL.

It takes work to discover online but usually if you find one establishment you will notice they all follow or are friends of each others listings and posts. Also in some cases these establishments are "Known" but mongers want to keep them as thier "secret watering holes" therefore
Overall we (this forum) are the reviewers and developers of lists. Those who can travel hopefully take time to post reports and have good experiences in the process.

It occurs to me reading this that a worthwhile pursuit would be a tour of Brasil hooker boites. I know Steve hit one in Capinas awhile back with good reports. There must be dozens of them in cities like Brazilia, Forteleza, Porto Allegre etc. Is there a site that lists / reviews all of them? Gpguia never seemed of much use when it came to boites.

They exist, I have found that very few are reviewed on Gpguia for the relevant area (s) to which your traveling to. Most are old reports which then question if the establishment are still OPEN (or CLOSED). It seems currently that people are finding and referencing IG / Twitter / Instagram / whatsapp / ticktock and google advertisements / pages or videos they stumbled upon in discovering potential new mongering spots. It takes work to discover online but usually if you find one establishment you will notice they all follow or are friends of each others listings and posts. Also in some cases these establishments are "Known" but mongers want to keep them as thier "secret watering holes" therefore the lack of sharing. Also some establishments are a distance away (drive from city to suburbs) where knowledge of Portuguese is a must (não falamos ou entendemos Queens ou Reis inglês aqui) LOL, therefore mongers don't want to risk being too far away from city center.

Hopefully I can get to Salvador before the end of the year. Premium is about 11 minutes from Platinum.

Looks nice would be good if we could get a first hand report about this place.

After RTFF'ing on this thread as far back as a decade, I found little information on chica-friendly hotels in Salvador. Is that because the local scene is so limited, and much of it consists of on-site sessions at massegems and prives? Or are Brazilian hotels usually just chica-friendly in general?

What about escorts / acompanhantes? I have been Google Translating reviews of acompanhantes on GP Guia and saw that the guys usually go to an escort's location for an incall, rather than an outcall or saida to him, or they meet at a love motel.

I found official info that mask use is "mandatory" in Salvador pretty much everywhere, including outdoors.

Can someone with recent knowledge comment is this strictly enforced, or relaxed?

I was wondering is it better to go to Rio if one doesn't want to be hassled about wearing masks outdoors.

I went to Salvador on my last trip to Brazil and stayed right on the main square in Pelourinho. Had 2 walking tours with different private guides. It's very walkable and historical, also the elevator and the lower town is within a few minutes walk as well. It's reaSalvador isonably safe too. Of course, it's kinda touristy and overpriced, but still a little cheaper than SP, and authentically historic. Was a great way to spend 3 days. Most museums were closed because of the stupid coronavirus stuff, so something to do for the next visit. I actually quite enjoyed Salvador. Not as scary as Fortaleza, and with easy ocean access.

Salvador is totally amazing. Like you said, authentically historic and with killer views. We stayed in Pelourinho too, in a huge oceanfront apartment with an enormous terrace and a private pool, that we booked for a song. A place like that in Rio, if even existed, would probably run into $400+. Certainly hope to return one day.

I always thought one day it would be interesting to stay in Pelourinho (historic district). I guess staying near the beach is preferable. You can always drop into Pelourinho for a visit.
