Hi, I read tons of pages on the is forum (thanks for the great info). I am settled on mainly checking out Solarium and maybe 4 x4.

I want to say that I read somewhere (but can't find it now) that solarium and 4 x4 both have a lounge area where you don't have to change into bathrobe. Is that correct?

Also is it safe to walk from Hilton to dolce vita and the clubs near dolce vita? Seems silly to take a Uber one block but some people say Uber even one block at night LOL.

Finally, is safe to take Uber from 4 x4 to copa late at night (after midnight)?

Anyways, get to Monte Carlo and not sure if it was the same Saturday that Nuppter visited, but I had the same opinion. There were only three girls and no other customers besides me. Went to Rio this past weekend and it started really bad. My first flight out of Lax had a mechanical issue that lasted about 4 hours. Yep, missed my connection. The airlines did what they could to help matters out with accomodation and food taken care of that night but with such a short trip, it only helped a little bit. I took the metro up there and regretted not taking an uber to Solarium. The metro was pretty packed. Siinday, I was thinking of going to vm since everything in centro would be closed. Centaurus is very overrated in my opinion. They charge more because of their reputation and nice facilities but the girls quality isn't higher than other termas. I actually found it lower quality and they had less girls. Personally I probably won't visit Centaurus again.

There was a time it was very good. It was known for having slim Euro looking girls. When Help Disco was active (before 2010) and there were mongers crawling all over the area, Centaurus had a nice niche in the market.

I'm sure there are a lot factors in why Centaurus has fallen. I think one contributing factor is the decline in foreign mongers. Less tourists around to pay top dollar. Anecdotally, I have hooked up with Centaurus girls after their shift. Some I ran into at Help. Others I arranged at the termas to meet later in the area. It's strategic location made it easy to hook-up after hours. The opportunity to make good money at Centaurus and then again afterward surely attracted many hot Rio girls.

Came to Rio from Medellin after about two weeks in the latter. Didn't get a chance to do a write-up until now so the post is a bit light on details. One big thing I immediately noticed is that Brazillian girls are way hotter than Colombian girls. I didn't realize how much hotter until I went from one to another and noticed the difference.

Sunday: Perola Negra. On my first full day I decided to hit up Perola Negra at night in part because it is one of the few places open on Sundays. There were a decent number of girls but nothing that suited my taste so I left without anything.

I've never had an issue with Uber in Rio, but I did have a couple of squabbles with cabbies (both times they tried to switch a $100 bill with the $2). I lost the first one, but stood my ground the second time around when I knew the drill. Those bad seeds do exist, but in my experience they're rare. BTW, depending on where you wanted to go in Jijuca, the Uber guy might've been concerned about his safety. I have no idea if that was the case, but Rio cabbies still seem to hate them. I heard from Uber guys that they'd been beaten up, cars damaged etc.

I'm happy you are ok, because bad things could have happened. I wrote some time ago that I don't take Uber anymore to or from the airports, because I want the ride to be smooth, without any extra drama. When I arrive, I want to get to my hotel as soon as possible to take a shower or sleep. When I go to the airport I don't want to risk missing my flight. From the GRU airport I always take a Guarucoop taxi and from SP to the airport I take a taxi from the hotel's taxi stand.
