You can't search for most of the popular telegram groups, they are all by invite only meaning you need to click on an invite link to enter. Invite groups won't show up in search (unless already in the group). Honestly its not hard to get an invite, they usually advertise and drop the link in the various other channels, just try doing a search within an existing channel for "t.
