I came back in the height of the pandemic. Tested before embarking from The States, tested in the Airport of Taiwan, ushered by hazmat zombies into a clear plastic reupholstered taxi, while every step I took my body was being sprayed by numerous hazmat attendants spraying such a quantity of mists of alcohol on me that I felt inebriated. I was called by the local police department every day and required to send an image of my daily home COVID test to the authorities. Never left my apartment during the 10 to 14 day quarantine.

Incidentally, last month, I was refused entry into a tea house because I could only show evidence of 2 MODERNA shots. But, all others didn't care.

I arrived back the other day. You are correct, they hand out the tests and that's it. No one cares what you do anymore.

As outlined in the link you posted, self initiated prevention is not exactly free roam and there's certain rules you have to follow. If you're caught there'll be a fine but that's it.

The other night I strolled. Despite much police activity, they could be found on the outskirts. Plenty of new faces. Deals can be had again because of the competition. I just couldn't ask for more. My God, a smile that lit up the room, and so appreciative. A far-cry from some of those ladies in Huaxi. But, to their defense, the local men surely handle them well. The foreigners, just don't know that tea room ritual thoroughly. Sometimes, I do well with it, when the girl likes me and accommodates and mutually enjoys the tea and company and the deed.

But, these viets are usually just so splendid. The price, 1. 5 K.
