Ticket Checker / Private Security not armed

No security on the trolley. Consider updating your safety training including pepper spray ownership.

Of course you see homeless people and the like quite a bit but that doesn't really bother me. They're generally harmless.

My only suggestion would be to consider parking at one of the trolley stations much closer to Tijuana. I. e. , Palomar St. Or closer (Palomar St. Is where I always park and never had issues there). Still free parking and minimizes the time you're on the trolley. No more than 10 minutes.
Consider yourself lucky! I have had several strange occurrences on that trolley. To your point, I'm typically riding to and from America Plaza. So maybe the longer ride gives me more opportunity? Perhaps. It's not the homeless that bother me. It's the mental health issues and people high as a kite and out of their mind that can be downright scary. On numerous occasions, someone will get on the trolley, get in someone's face and just scream nonsense. The San Ysidro trolley station itself was in really rough shape my last visit. After entering the US on foot at 3 AM, there were several people in the area that were trouble.

I think it's just a sign of the times, and not just the trolley. When I arrived at SAN, there was a woman screaming, punching and kicking the ATM near the entrance doors in Terminal 1. It went on for at leaat 5 minutes before someone took her away. Honest to God, I don't fear these incidents but I do regret them; it's as though the US is more dangerous than when I'm in Tijuana.

Everything was fine on the way there. It was on the way back, at about 20 til midnight when things got weird. About halfway through the trip a homeless man on the opposite side started smoking something out in the open. Nobody said anything to him. Since I was on the opposite end I couldn't smell what it was. Even still that wasn't too bad, but then a homeless woman got on with a disheveled look and came and stood right up to me. It was super awkward because there wasn't anybody else around. I had my AirPods in so I just ignored her hoping she would leave but she wouldn't budge. After about a minute she started talking to me. I told her I couldn't hear her because I was listening to music. She kept talking so I took my AirPods out and said look, you need to back off, you're in my personal space. I don't have any spare change or cigarettes, if that's what you're looking for. She then started screaming and cussing me out. I told her to back away as there was no reason for her to be standing so close to me. Thank God she actually backed away but she was still cursing me out. And then at another stop a couple other homeless guys came in and sat down a couple seats down from me and one basically keeled over and appeared to be dead. Wtf was going on here. Then the other one proceeded to start smoking crack right there in the open as if everything was normal. By the end I think I was the only normal person in there surrounded by deranged homeless people. Never again. At least not at night time. I honestly don't know how single women ride the trolley at night seeing as how as a man I felt uneasy about it. I would rather just drive into Tijuana or park near the border and walk over like I usually do.
I hear ya. I have had a few strange folks on the Trolly when I did take it the few times. I think it's funny how the government pushes people to use public transportation like it's just "easy". "safe". Bullshit. Now in Japan where society is different, I think it's possible but not in Southern Cal!

Haha love this report. It's why I tell mongers don't get on the trolley with a suitcase and he'll no nice shies or dress pants. San diego is grimey like alberquerque. It is not LOS angeles. Your trolleybstaion, us the one just 1 minute past old Town Station. So you didn't even see the worst of it. I used to take that route in the day time before covid maybe 30 days a year to get rental cars. It turned intona homeless haven even before covid. You really shouldn't of said anything to these people. Because they carry knives. They will stab you. Their entire life involves street beefs stabbings stealing from othwr homeless. Yes don't take it at night. It's safer during the day as it's full of Mexican teens and Mexican woman men going back to tijauana after a day of school and work. If you take from old Town don't take the route that goes tobsan ysidro. Take the other one that goes through gaslamp it has tourists and it doesn't go through to the homeless haven stops in the city area. But yes it's very dangerous, I feel way safer in Zona Norte these days than the trolley part of it is I can't run away on trolley. Last week a gang banging 27 year old from LA was telling stories of shootings, his 15 years in prison, and I overheard and laughed and said to guy next to me that this is better than tik tok. He didn't know what I said exactly but was pissed and was comming at me. But the other dude was a fang member himself who did many more years than the other kid and told him to stay away from us. As a result I do not take the trolly from old Town. I'll spend the gas and drive to 2 stops before the border. Too risky. I also stopped taking the nyc subway as that's also turned to a purge crime scene.

Trolley is fine during the day but you're playing with fire using it at night. Use common sense, it's not worth using the trolley at night, anyone of these mentally deranged people can have a knife and shank you before you knew it.

Riding the trolley down to Tijuana.

That makes sense. They were more interested in my torch lighter for my cigars, first thing he asked was if it had wax in it lmao I told him no it's a lighter.

    Secrets Massages. Don't Go!

Reporting back about an attempt to find a good massage parlour.

Was in Tijuana for a couple days and on the first full day I went in search of VivaMex and found it. HOwever, did not try it. I was talking to a local and said "Secret Massage" was good. I thought to give it a try and did, and it was terrible. It is on Miguel Hidalgo and Revolution in a yellow building. Repeat! NOT WORTH IT.

First, the girls were only 3 to choose from. I picked the least ugly.

Second, the massage was hands just gliding over the body. No power behind them, no real massage, more like a body rub.

Third, $50 for "an hour". I did not time her, but if felt very short. I've had hour long massages and part of me wondered when it would end. This one did and abruptly.

Kind enough people, but I did not go for conversation. I wanted to get should knots rubbed out and such.

Sex and Happy endings are negotiable. I played along to see what I could get. She wanted $50 for a handjob, which maybe could have meant sex but a language barrier. ? I started at $20, and we could have got to $30, but I wasn't interested from the very start so it was just a lack luster body rub.

I came across some what of a alley that has steps that go up to the main street. I thought it would be a good spot since not a lot of people where walking up the steps. After a couple of minutes hanging out there and taking photos while I was moving around a portable $5 tripod for my phone I noticed 2 cops walking down the steps and sure enough they began asking me questions, what was I doing, where I was from, what do I do for a living, have I visited before etc. I didn't think of it at the time but I told them I've been to tijuana several times and everything has always been cool and no one's ever bother me. They could of taken that the wrong way. One of the cops asked me what I had in my hand and I explained to him it was a bluetooth clicker for the tripod to take pictures. After asking for my ID they informed me that they were doing random searches to look for any contraband or weapons and I said that's fine. I had a small cross shoulder bag on me and I opened it up for them, at the same time I was keeping my eyes on them making sure they wouldn't slip something in my bag. I had my wallet in there with like $200 usd and I was like shit I can kiss that money goodbye. He questioned me about some cigars I had and asked me if there was any illegal substance in it. But I kept calm and told them no and where I bought the cigars. To my surprise they they gave me my ID back and told me to have a good day. I thought for sure I was going to have to at least give some money up but apparently either not every cop down there out to get you or I just got lucky. Keep in mind there was 2 cops and I was alone in that pathway of stairs. They could of easily planted something on me and ask me to pay a fine to let me go. I'm thinking they were looking to shake down people who have weed etc on them and extort them. Either way that was my cue to get the hell out of there because I noticed they came back down the stairs when they saw that I was leaving the area. I wasn't taking any chances and had a uber on it's way to pick me up LOL.
Did I ever mention that I once brought a sidearm over the border because I just came back from the range and got all excited that a favorite was back in town? Love can make people stupid. They even had their hands over my gun bag when they searched the trunk of my car. I recalled thinking oh fuck, here we go with an international incident and I can kiss my career goodbye. But they were obviously looking for (smokable) contraband in small containers like e-cigarettes filled with pot, and a big bag of obvious heavy tools isn't going to carry those. Your new LEO friends were probably looking for E-pens with contraband and so your tiny remote control looked more more of a seize than my guns. Yeah, I did consider flooring the accelerator. But would have made it harder to explain if they nabbed me.

Yes police stopping a lone male gringo on Tijuana streets is the norm. I've been stopped more times than I can remember. I went to eat qt Carl juniors and my friend went to the bathroom, 4 cops walk in and sit next to me. I felt like asking them if they want to pat me down. The emptier the street thr more likely mexixo police will stop you. Never carry large money like rent or l to buy a car in mexixo because they may take it. They usually not interested in small money 100 130 and less.
