Had a very interesting experience with a Thai gal recently that I thought I'd post and wonder if anyone knows her or had similar experiences. Would be keen to share notes and get some recommendations of similar gals out there.

I got the sense not to push it and go slow (I sensed she was worried about her friends seeing her play around). By 11 pm she was really flirty and cosying up to me and her friends were not paying attention and I tried to kiss her but she laughed and turned her cheek but didn't seem offended. Later her friends said they had to go and she didn't want to but the made her leave. She told them to go to the car and she would join them in a minute.

After they left she gave me her number and a hug and I chanced it and kissed her again and she kissed me back and we kissed for a nice minute or so and got my tongue in her mouth and she responded but the her friend came back and she left. I messaged her immediately and she messaged back from the car and I asked if I could see her and she asked where I was staying and said she would come by for a drink. Can share details and her contact if anyone keen but frankly was not the typical Bangkok experience and lot of work but really something much better than I expected.

Would love to know if anyone has had similar experiences. I think there's quite a few girls in bkk in similar situations and would love to explore that.

Yes, plenty. In fact, 99% of my experiences when I lived in Thailand was like that.

Stopped by Soi 7 Beer Garden today at 14:30. Certainly much improved from noon visit couple of weeks ago (3 waitresses, NO customers), but that's only RELATIVELY speaking. Today, there were 3 waitresses (sadly, not the one I've know for a decade+), half dozen old guys (includes myself), and a dozen FL's, all ridden hard and put away wet. That's a great lesson you shared, and important for others to see. Though sorry you had to expend so much labor on dinners. For myself, with so many hot girls in BKK, I can't justify anything near 20 k. By my estimates, only about 10% of the girls on TF are freelancers, not 90%. But, no one messages the fat or ugly ones or the ones that are looking for someone who believes in God and is faithful, etc. So the effective portion of girls who are available for P4P seems higher. I was never much of a fan of Patpong.

When I first arrived here years ago it was either the craziness of the night market or the reputation of the scams in the upstairs bars that kept me from visiting frequently, not to mention the (slight) inconvenience of a BTS switch at Siam station for those of us who live along the Sukhumvit line.

TLDR: Patpong area is extremely quiet, but a few of its most infamous BJ bars, besides Kangaroo Club, which is closed, are still around; Rose Bar: open but recommend you take a pass; Meet the World: the most / best girls and a nice raunchy hands-on time but hang on to your wallet; Star of Light: a good laid-back fun time.

Great informative FR. Some of the best advice I ever got was from an old Thailand hand before I first came in the mid '90's: "If you go to Patpong, the downstairs bars are safe. If you want to go to an upstairs bar for a show, take a girl from Nana with you. She'll keep you safe. " Great advice and she did (she wants your wallet for herself). When a tout for a show started leading us away from direct stairs up, he turned right, and she pulled me left, saying something was fishy. One line of hers I've NEVER forgotten: one act was p*ssy drinks coke. Upside down bicycle, full liter of coke inserted, drained, then she turns upright, squats over the bottle, and refills. My girl turns to me and says "I'm never drinking coke again. " One of those truly memorable moments.

Kangaroo, visited once or twice back in the '90's but just didn't catch my fancy. I won't miss it but some might.

The Rose. That bar has more lives than a cat. Back in the 90's it was a fun place, good for in-house service or even take away. It declined in the 00's, came back, and the last time I was actually inside, seeing ghosts, was about 6 years ago. I've been past there myself several times during the afternoon. No sign of life. For some unnatural reason, it STILL exerts a gravitational pull on me, but so far, I've resisted.

Been past the SOL in the early to mid-afternoon, and the bar is closed, plywood on the door with cleaning supplies propped up. No girls sitting outside. Glad to hear it's still functional later in the day. That place IS an institution.

Been to Meet the World a couple of times (16:00 and even 13:00 fully staffed, 4 ladies). I like the place. They intuitively put on tunes that I enjoy, and the natives are friendly, definitely a hands-on place. A lady drink is 150 baht, buying a lady one will remove her clothes. A beer is 100 baht, a BJ 800. Clarify the price FIRST. My first time back, I did, with no problems. 2nd time, 10 days later, they gave me a tourist bill, but I just had them correct it (as reported in FR). The ladies might not be in the 19-21 bracket, but they are fun and skilled. Given the history of that bar, it would be a tragedy if it disappears.

Doesn't seem like TF is moderated. But I also don't think you need to headline your profile with seeking FLers. Just message them and ask if they are FL. Seems like at this point 90% of the girls on TF are FL anyways.

By my estimates, only about 10% of the girls on TF are freelancers, not 90%. But, no one messages the fat or ugly ones or the ones that are looking for someone who believes in God and is faithful, etc. So the effective portion of girls who are available for P4P seems higher. I was never much of a fan of Patpong.

When I first arrived here years ago it was either the craziness of the night market or the reputation of the scams in the upstairs bars that kept me from visiting frequently, not to mention the (slight) inconvenience of a BTS switch at Siam station for those of us who live along the Sukhumvit line. Nonetheless, I did find some of the older (legit) venues charming in kind of a timeless way. Whether it was a late breakfast at the Madrid restaurant, the occasional beer at a street-level outdoor bar in the alley between Patpong Soi 1 and Soi 2, or a show at one of the more well-known clubs, their old-fashioned style and more laid-back nature appealed to me.

I had heard Patpong was "quiet" post Covid, so I spent the past month or so scouting out the area to get a feel for what's really going on. I visited on weekdays, weekends, afternoons and evenings and made sure to visit the most famous BJ places, as outlined below.

Kangaroo Club (Patpong 1) is unfortunately closed. There is no sign of it on the downstairs door, no outdoor sign, and no decal on the upstairs window. Like a lot of places in Patpong, it simply doesn't exist any more.

Rose Bar (Patpong 1) is open but apparently on its last legs. As you approach the entrance, a guard will appear to let you in, as before. He rings the bell and then you walk up a steep staircase to the bar. At the top, when I went, I was greeted by Mamasan who, as it turns out, was the only employee working there that day. There were no signs of any other employees, and Mama told me they left because they were "scared of Covid". Well, that had to have been 2+ years ago, so I've no idea what the deal is with their staff, but apparently they don't really have any, or at least they didn't that day. I ordered a beer and bought one for Mama with the intention of chatting for a few minutes before leaving. Halfway through my beer, Mama starts stroking me and whispering that she wants to blow me. I wasn't really into it, but it had been a long week and I figured it would be my last-ever BJ there. I let her go at it and she did a surprisingly decent job. Finished up, down the stairs to street level. I may return one final time to confirm that they really don't have any staff members (it's always good to check a place out twice, I find, just to triangulate) but if they don't, I won't stay. Can't recommend this place in its present format and my guess is it won't be around much longer: it's decline seems both terminal and irreversible.

Meet the World Bar (Patpong 2, up the ramp). This place has had so many names over the years it's hard to keep track of: COB's, Linda's Place, The World, and now "Meet the World" is stenciled on the door, so I'll go with that. Approached it from the ramp and noted that a few girls were outside eating. They waved me over and I went inside. There were 5 girls working and Mamasan behind the bar. This was more like it. I bought drinks for a few of the girls, which made them happy and then we proceeded to get to know one another. It's a very hands-on place (think Pandora's in Pattaya before the new owner took it over) which is my main criterion. I'd much rather spend an afternoon with an older but hands-on MILF than a 23-year-old hottie in a Pattaya G-club who doesn't let me hold her hand until after I've bought her 10 drinks.

Anyway, the girls' clothing started coming off and sometime during my second drink they began undressing me. They're really good about stripping everybody down there, so if you're the least bit shy it's not the place for you (Mama locks the door before all this occurs, of course). I won't bore you with the details (smirk) but suffice it to say that it can get pretty wild in there. You'll have a lot of female body parts shoved in your face, and you can have as many providers as you want service you. My advice is to buy a few of them drinks, get all of those ones naked, but then pick only one (or two if you like) for the BJ. That will help keep the overall cost down since this way you only pay the BJ fee for the one (s) who actually service you. The others get their money through the drinks and a small tip you provide at the end. Be polite, but firm and you'll be fine in this regard. You'll still have a lot of fun but the check won't be outrageous. If they sense you're a newbie, though, you'll get tourist treatment / prices.

Star of Light (Patpong 2). Beneath Meet the World Bar is the infamous Star of Light. Like a beacon in the night, its white sign beckons to all who approach. It's just a small place with a few couches, a small bar, and a tiny restroom (no shower). There's also a mattress at the back, if you prefer. There was only one provider the first time I went, but more on duty when I swung by again last week. Overall, it's a nice enough place and there's no pressure / girl pile-on like there is at Meet the World, where you find yourself surrounded by sexy women and then before you know it your wallet is empty! I found both providers to be decent in the looks and personalities departments and who provided good enough service.

TLDR: Patpong area is extremely quiet, but a few of its most infamous BJ bars, besides Kangaroo Club, which is closed, are still around; Rose Bar: open but recommend you take a pass; Meet the World: the most / best girls and a nice raunchy hands-on time but hang on to your wallet; Star of Light: a good laid-back fun time.

Enjoy it while you can, fellas. My view is that Patpong actually isn't quiet. It's dead. And it's difficult to see how the entire area can be economically viable when so many establishments have simply ceased to exist and the ones that do exist are without many customers.
