Well its a few days before Christmas and in to peak season so how are the bars doing?

After a couple of barhops over the last few days it seems that most of the favourite western owned walking st bars are really struggling to attract both punters and girls numbers, many bars having no customers at all, most busy bar among western bars was lollipop bar, this bar tends to get a few regular expats in, the girls tend to be hands on which they like but the girl quality is low.

On to Atlantis bar, I was the only non Korean in there, girl numbers were well down on last visit as many of the better looking girls have headed to their home province for Christmas and new year with their kids and family, the story was much the same in all the other big walking st gogo bars.

Street freelancers, where once there was quite a big scene of street girls they seem to be in small numbers now replaced by multiple tall butch men in dresses, if one likes such then plenty to be found on all st corners leading up to walking st, for those that can't tell or don't like such then ask 1st before being shocked back at the room.

In summing up, the town is very quiet, its mostly younger Korean punters, they outnumber westerners many times, girls numbers down, drinks only girls in many bars, its not easy to get laid as a westerner if one has standards.

Don't compare AC with Pattaya. A few Perimeter and Raymond St bars have onsite rooms but they are dirty, small and don't even have running water. AC is compact. Everything is a few hundred meters around Walking Street. Get a convenient hotel and take the girl back for a much more relaxed session to your hotel.

Wasn't so much comparing the two places, but rather found the reference to soi 6 to best summarize what I was looking for. I know Pattaya well, but AC less so (I've only been a dozen times, and not in the last 5 years).

Dirty and small bars, I'm actually OK with that. It conveniently matches the kind of women I like.

We stayed at the Villa Caemilla Beach Boutique Hotel where I got tha premiere deluxe room, which is very large, has a king bed and a sitting area with a couch. They offered to bring in a second bed if needed. No use for that.

Price was about $90/ night and compared to other hotels, not much walking in the sand to get to it from where the ev drops you, and is right on the beach and the rooms look new. Not to be confused with casa caemilla.

The restaurant that had the most incredible rock band I've seen in philippines is named "Nigi Nigi Nu Noos" or something like that.

As a westerner I have always been welcomed in all korean bars, once your face is known to the korean owners / managers will always offer a warm handshake and a 1st welcome drink on the house, so don't worry too much about being welcomed.

The korean bars tend to be much larger, much better decorated with profesional dance teams, they employ multiple girl, mostly slim, taller, lighter skin and fairly attractive, the best girls by far work in the korean owned bars and as such many girls are popular for lady drinks and earn large by staying in the bar.

The western owned bars are quite easy to tell, they tend to be much smaller, much older looking and employ small numbers of mostly chubby, older, plain girls, wester bars tend to have much older mainly western ex pat patrons, the girls tend to be more playful but low in quality.

Even fat, old white blokes will get dragged into the Korean bars by the Pinay GRO out the front. You don't need to worry. Sure you can bar fine the unwanted chicks which are left over, once the Koreans have packed up and left with all the hotties.

Or maybe just do the reverse, walk in and if you see old white guys drinking beer by the bottle with young pinays by the side, it's a sure sign it's a non-Korean bar. Easy to spot too since these bars are always without crowds.

Many of the Korean operated bars that I had noticed had Korean employees who oversee the operations in there, which I assume the Koreans had provided cash infusion and invested to keep these bars afloat after the area reopened. Without these investments, I am pretty sure the walking street will be much quieter and in a worse shape.
