I agree Taiwan is tougher to invade / occupy from what I read, not my area of expertise, but I also think CCP China will not be as incompetent as Putin's Russia was, is far more resourceful, and has more leverage v rest of the world than merely oil and gas that Russia did. But TW is infinitely more important for the western world especially compared to Ukraine, not merely from a moral, deterring dictators pov, but very tangible economic and technology angle. With our capitalist, profit driven model we have become so dependent on them for tech outsourcing. Their crown jewel is Taiwan Semi, which has a very dominant share in manufacturing of advanced semiconductors. Mr. Morris Chang is a genuine hero, most Taiwanese revere him as such and deservedly so, and whoever controls Taiwan Semi have the rest of the world by their balls for at least several years. We in the west have leverage over Taiwan Semiconductor because we supply all their equipment but it would be still extremely inconvenient to outright dangerous for our economic well being to military readiness if CCP were to control it. There is a reason why Biden blurted out a couple of times about nukes and defending TW against protocol. It is that critical.

CCP bastards also are in a shit pickle. We have been denying them access to chips and other critical tech for 3 to 4 years at an increasing crescendo.
