LOL! I realize this is the Bangkok forum, but since we're talking about motorcycle taxis. . . .

In Pattaya a few years ago on New Year's Eve I hired a motorcycle taxi to take me from the west end of Soi 6 to Walking Street. It was a few minutes before midnight and Beach Road was jammed. The driver made a show of checking out the traffic, then turned back to me for 30 seconds of amiable negotiation over the fare. Can't recall the exact amount, but his holiday surge price was reasonable under the circumstances.

The ride south on Beach Road was surreal. My driver skillfully zoomed between the lanes of traffic, clearing the massive tour buses by inches. About halfway to Walking Street the clock struck midnight and the fireworks started. The next few minutes were like something out of a video game. As you guys know well, the opportunities to be a naughty boy can be reduced during the holidays, especially on New Year's Eve, when so many people in the "industry" are otherwise occupied. So for me, the ride turned out to be the highlight of my evening.

Day 2. I walked a lot this day. After eating at Ekkamai food court / kitchen, I walked toward Nana, but decided to go to MBK. Hired a bolt only to realize my phone battery was low and figured I'the be out for awhile. I was in the mood for a good massage. I noticed a couple decent early / mid thirties women sitting outside a shop. I didn't stop on my walk, but when I passed them again, I made a mental note to come back. Got my phone charged up and then walked back to the massage shop. I had intentions on only getting the massage. The name of the shop was Happiness massage.

For MBK from that area (Ekkamai), I just take the BTS. However, after 3 years, I'd forgotten, and got off at Siam, looking for MBK. Luckily, I remembered it was a change before exiting, so just walked down and caught the BTS to National Stadium. Unfortunately, Dunkin' Donuts no longer sells the Bavarian chocolate, the cream filled chocolate topped donuts. Not a complete loss, walked back out and jumped back on the BTS to Patpong to do my own cream filling.

Curious, which Soi was Happiness on? Soi 23? For a good, legit massage in the Ekkamai area, try Soi 55's Yama Herbal Massage, less than a 100 M from Thong Lo BTS station, left hand side as you're walking away from Sukhumvit. Extras were offered, but I just went for the massage. 700 baht for 90 minutes. Search to find FR's.

You like the skywalks (e.g. Asoke to Cowboy). At Asoke BTS, just turn around and take the skywalk in the other direction, exiting the BTS turnstyles on the Nana end, but staying on the elevated walk. Usually a breeze, and certainly beats the crowds on the sidewalk below. Walk down to the end (not THAT far), exit to the right towards the Sofitel hotel, but instead of the elevated ramp to the hotel, take the stairs down to the sidewalk, U-turn, and it's 10 M to Thermae. Now your success inside is another matter.

Honestly, I wasn't expecting the action to kick off so fast, so I just went with the flow. Ultimately, even at the tourist prices, it's a pretty sweet deal, so I'm still satisfied with the experience over all.

FYI: there is a mattress on a raised platform in the back, towards the toilet, in an alcove with curtains, BUT the mattress leaves a lot to be desired. Seems like a number of holes in the foam, hopefully not the platform, but overall, the mattress is not that solid. I think next time I'll avail myself of a bench.

Well, it only makes a difference in cowgirl position. Reverse cowgirl should still work fine on a couch depending on the skill of the ladies', but I'm a sucker for doggy, so it works. Plus the fact that the front door is right there and could open at any time is fun for me. I'll get Day 3 out of the way first since it's not much to write about. Had a decent omelette at Genius Bar. I got it filled with Angus beef. It was supposed to be 150 grams of protein. I doubt it. Butterflies I remember specifically it was 1000 barfine because that's where Mama insisted I pay the girl first and I got my 1000 baht back. This place easily has the best party atmosphere and reminded of a Las Vegas strip club vibe on Friday night.

The most consistent place for hot girls for me was Rainbow 5 and I paid 1000 baht at least a couple times there. That's the only place that was very busy on Thursday night.

There were 2 girls whose lady drinks were technically 2 drinks (whiskey / soju and coke). I've now added that to my list of red flags. The first drink is now the cost of business, but the second one HAS to be earned. If I were still in BKK, I might have tried the shaw shaw line. I'm afraid it would sour a lot of potential interactions, as well as earn a few refusals, but without some field testing, I can't be certain. Plus I'm sure a little charm may help it go down more smoothly, so I definitely see it as something worth fine tuning so cut costs and streamline the selection process.

I couldn't spot Star of Light, but did see the Meet the World sign on the second floor as I was strolling the street below. There were 2 ladies dressed in red sitting outside with the door to the bar closed. Was I about to witness my first debaucherous orgy? No, there was literally no one inside. I asked the mamasan for a Singha ands asked if I would like to buy the ladies a drink. I asked her if anyone else was working, but it was only those 2. Neither were to my taste frankly, but feeling obliged to experience one of the classic punter haunts, I took up mamasan's offer of a 2 lady discount.

The ones down the Sois are not that bad, I've been using them for years and I am almost 70.

If ones around and I'm gimpy, Ill straight shot one to a station. Just did that this morning.

I'm not riding one long distance, nor in insanely busy areas, even though I have insurance. I never use Grab Bike.

Bikes are always available, cheap, and the wait is short. I won't ever do it. I'm feel I'm too tall and big plus I'm not too keen on pressing my Johnson into another man's backside. You will be waiting for a car in the more touristy areas. I had one bad experience where I waited for the driver for 8 minutes only for him to be on the wrong side of the street. He cancelled and then I had to wait another 8/9 minutes. The rates are so low that I feel bad for the driver and always tip really well. That is a lot of time and traffic to deal with.

Yeah, I read enough on here about Taxi's not to go for that. I have been using Bolt exclusively, but the wait is about 10 minutes around Nana Plaza. No problems getting picked up from my condo in Ekkamai.

At 3 am ish, from the Terminal 21 area, it takes me about 30 minutes to get to my pad up near Bang Pho, cost 279 B plus 50 toll plus 50 B tip. Easy peasy. If I I don't feel like waiting, I just hit up a local member of the cab mafia. On Monday night, took me about 3 minutes to find one 300 B plus toll plus tip.

I don't ride the bikes exccept down back sois. I'm too fat.

Has anyone spied any slavic talent at Mixx or any other club? If I have to be the pathfinder this weekend I shall (ugg, schlep down on the last train) but hey Sukhumvit gang, where they at?

Thanks Lcale. This clarifies my discussion I was having with a friend of mine who said there is never a wait for Bolt in BKK and I said it was well over a 10 minute wait even before the Bolt crackdown. It's because he takes bikes and I will always opt for a car.

I gave up on Bolt and Grab cars last time there. I was staying right on soi 26 and was just as easy to flag down a cab or if in a hurry just scurry down soi 24 and there are always a bunch of motorbikes for hire. And eye candy on 24 is not always that bad either.

Thanks Lcale. This clarifies my discussion I was having with a friend of mine who said there is never a wait for Bolt in BKK and I said it was well over a 10 minute wait even before the Bolt crackdown. It's because he takes bikes and I will always opt for a car.

Bikes are always available, cheap, and the wait is short. I won't ever do it. I'm feel I'm too tall and big plus I'm not too keen on pressing my Johnson into another man's backside. You will be waiting for a car in the more touristy areas. I had one bad experience where I waited for the driver for 8 minutes only for him to be on the wrong side of the street. He cancelled and then I had to wait another 8/9 minutes. The rates are so low that I feel bad for the driver and always tip really well. That is a lot of time and traffic to deal with.

When I left Nana plaza, I waitied on the other side of the street, opposite the sandal shop because it's too congested and it seems to be a hangout spot for hags.
