3% at hotels? Where are you staying? And get a CC with no foreign transaction fee (like Cap 1) and you will see no "credit card surcharges". Also use Bangkok Bank ATM's. The why are not a rip off. 220 charge per transaction. Which may or may not be refundable. Depends on your bank. Of course cash is king. Do not buy baht at the airport if possible.

I know there is probably a massive range of girls / costs, but if one of you regulars were planning a two excursion to the normal haunts (Pattaya, Bangkok, Phuket, etc), how much would you pack over?

    Thanks.

Bring $1500 USD in new 50's and 100's. Put your hotel expenses on your card. Make sure you can get cash advance on your card also. Don't forget to let your card issuer know you are going to Thailand. I usually take $2 K cash with me. Bring home any extra. All hotels have safes in the room. Use it.

You said everything else will be on card. FYI TIT so unless you're eating and shopping in malls and hotels only chances are you will not be able to pay most things by card.

As for how much for 2 girls per day, not including drinks. For Pattaya you can get a Soi 6 girl for 1350 baht including BF and a BR girl for 700 baht. Otherwise you can get a G club girl at Kinnaree for 1300 baht and a gogo girl at Palace for 5 k ST. So that's 2050 to 6300 baht per day only for the girl and BF and not including drinks. You will likely fall somewhere in between that over a 2 week stay. BKK shouldn't be too different.

Yes they are open at international arrivals. Not open at domestic as far as I could tell.

RT-PCR Test before going back home

    Hey Guys,

Hoping someone could help with some information about where to get a low-cost but genuine RT-PCR test in Bangkok. What is the approx cost and waiting time? Unfortunately, need a test done before being allowed back home LMAO.

Found this one online but seeing the number of scams going on was not sure if this is legit or not - https://helpdeliver.asia/en/pacific-...sults-in-24hrs.

Any help and suggestions much appreciated.

    Thanks.

Yes you are overthinking it. It does not show a number. It shows the name that you want it to show. Just like you put Gonz0 here, you can put it there. Then you can tell people my Line is Gonz0 and they will copy it or type that in to add you.

Thanks for the heads-up. Every now and again it seems that she will forget to change her keyboard, and here comes the message in Thai. Just a copy and paste into translator. But good to have the built-in in my back pocket.

There is also a Line_ID that you can create, but I have never bothered. Once set, the Line_ID CAN'T be changed. If you set a permission, then others can add you as a friend by using / searching for your Line_ID. I don't use this method.

The app also creates a QR code for you. That's how I add contacts: I scan their QR code or they scan mine. ONE word of caution: IMMEDIATELY send a message or have them send you one. Nothing worse to THINK you have her contact only to find out you don't because it didn't get added for some unknown reason.

You can send friend requests and the other person has to reply. Again, I don't use, QR code is easier when you are face to face, with a message to confirm. I guess if you're moving from some board, like ThaiFriendly, then Line_ID's or phone numbers might come into play, but I don't use those boards.

Chats show up in an active list; chats can be hidden. Friends show up on a list; you can hide names from this list, then unhide. BUT, even if hidden, if they send a message, their chat will automatically display in active chats and on friends list.

What I'm trying to say, to hide chats, you have to hide in 2 places: active chat list AND friends list.

Some will have public posts that you can see: chats are private, 1 to 1. Posts are public.

Besides message chats, voice and video chats are possible, but obviously for close friends. I find message chats sufficient. Even if her English is not so good, she'll have a friend.

Unfortunately, unlike WeChat, there is no built in translator function, at least what I've been able to find.
Thanks for the detailed response and tips.
