I have never been to any place where the uber drivers cancel as much as they do in Rio de Janeiro. Doesn't seem to be any rationale because I have had them cancel morning, noon and night.

Gents, what's the latest anyone has taken Ubers here on a regular basis? I was there last week and getting a bit stressed as it took a long time to connect with an Uber (a few tries and 15 plus minutes, couple of drivers connected and then canceled), this was Friday early morning around 1 am. I know it's not a crazy long wait in the overall scheme of things but would like to hear your experience. Only reason I ask is that is there a reason why Ubers do not want to go here? .

I went around Centro checking privées today. I started at TDM33. My intention was to start at 32: nd floor and work my way down using the stairs. None of the four elevators going up to the 32: nd floor was working. I went to the elevators going up to the 21: st floor, one of these 4 elevators was working (working as going up but stopping on every floor). The streets are very narrow and deserted for sure, last thing you'the want to do is walk around elsewhere and I read previous posts here where there were a few instances of violence for people who were walking around.

I can't remember if they offer taxi service, I'm sure they would if you got the money. I still wouldn't be sure to trust it over Uber. I did ask my Uber driver if there was a reason why cars wouldn't come there, he did say that by foot it was dangerous but he wouldn't see any issues in a car at night time. I would also think that a lot of girls take Ubers, I will perhaps ask them next time I'm there just to hear their experience.
