You've got that right, the exchange rate keeps decreasing. It was 20 to 1 and now 17 to 1. The printing press is sure devaluing our purchasing power.

    Fin. Ca.

    Oryx Capital.

    Animalon (Valle de Guadalupe).

None are particularly cheap, a couple are downright expensive. All have very good food.
I've done Mision 19 and Animalon, but they were the 6 course tasting menu and it didn't impress me. How are the others, especially Merlina or Oryx?

I'll have to try it one day. Any members plan to hit up Paseo Chapultepec and try Cabana or Lorenza and share some stories?

Yeah, it has nothing to do with the Mexico's inflation

Mexico's inflation, especially their food inflation, got to 8. 7% this summer, along with us. Their food inflation is 12% last month. But sure. It's the dollar that devalued.

The US dollar is the strongest it's been in 20 years.

"Why is the peso doing so well, according to Bloomberg.

    Tight financial policies.

Because of rising interest rates, which have fueled the carry trade.

The potential for a dramatic shift in international trade in the following years might lead to an increase in direct foreign investment.

As rising wages and transportation costs erode China's competitive advantages, more Chinese factories are relocating to Mexico. In addition, companies are "nearshoring" their operations from Asia to locations closer to the United States, the world's largest market, in response to aversion to remote supply chains caused by COVID. Cabana is awesome. They have a great menu. My fav are the BBQ Costillas and Pizza Jason Serrano. Lava cake for dessert .

    U.S. Dollar Devaluation

Some places have re arranged portion size and raised prices. I refuse to go back to those places.

Not good times if you are looking for cheap 4/5 star restaurants. Sure you can lowball and do regular food but I am a foodie. I can get regular food anywhere.
