The only sex shop I can recall is when I left Monkey Bar and started walking towards the clocktower. It's on that same street as Monkey Bar before reaching Alquimico but I can't remember the name.
There's another in Bocagrande across from the Intercontinental Shopping mall.

Hotel El Porvenir is across the street from Hotel El Viajero and it also works well. My own approach is that I rent a room in either one of those spots, apart from where I'm actually staying. I'm a great believer in decoupling. I tip the staff in both those hotels well; I go there often enough so that makes some sense. I bring my own toys, typically a couple of vibrators, oils and balms, so unfortunately I can't help with sex shops, but I think I saw the one in Bocogrande a couple of months back. I have always said the way to do Cartagena is to get a woman or preferably women from another city and fly them down here. If you get the right woman or women, you will have the time of your life and almost all the women in Bogota want to go where it is warmer even for a short time.

If I was going to go that route then I would do San Andres instead. It is cheaper and the beaches are nicer. You don't have all those touts either. Also, a plus for non Spanish speakers, everyone on San Andres speaks English!

If I am looking for high end clubs like Scandallo but don't want to go to SP all the way from US- which one of these 2 cities is a better option? Santa Fe in Bogota seems to be too much of low end SW scene. Never been but just from reading all the posts.

Any info or opinions would be great.

TS, the best high end clubs in Colombia are in Medellin, La Isla and Face Dos.

There are higher end clubs in North Bogota but honestly the women in them are not better looking than Santa Fe, so you are paying more and not getting anything better. Santa Fe is sketchy but you can take any girl out of the club or off the street for a lot less than the Northern clubs, and I have never had anything happen to me there. I knew an Asian guy who went every day for months and the only issue he had was when he left his drink unattended and got drugged. The majority of women in Santa Fe are not attractive but usually once a night, I would find an 8 or 9 to jump on.

IMO Bogota is probably the best city in the world for women. The Medellin women tended to all be hooker types IMO. The ones I met in Medellin and liked were always from somewhere else and were just there for school.

I have an apartment with my gal in Cartagena and honestly I have not seen near the lookers here I have in Bogota or Medellin.

The reason to come to Cartagena is the weather and beach. Bogota has pollution, high elevation, and horrible traffic. There are some beauties here but you are going to pay a lot for them and the town is much, much smaller than Bogota.

Last time I was there I went to this one over where what use to be Exito Express. They changed the name to something new now. Up the steps and walk towards the back.

The ATM was one of the green ones. I can't remember the name but it was Divienda or something like that.

They blame Tinder because in the US you expect to get a hookup out of it or a legit date. In Colombia it's used to get hookers. These guys are that ignorant because of the stupid YouTube videos.

So, we have to ask ourselves how the hell does 5 guys all get drugged at the same time. People think, strength in numbers, wolf pack, the whole team roll as one. Do you believe Tinder is the only place this happens? It happens on every site and every place. Tinder is just the buzz word everyone is using as it's the most common one that's familiar to others. When they don't say Tinder they will say "online".

The girls are also using Hinge, Tag, Happen, and Facebook. Hardly anything is said about those sites even though the same things happen. Same as meeting girls in the club, if the gringo is a mark then he's a mark no matter where he meets them.

Is blowing powder into someone's face really a thing or is it just an old wives tale? I have never seen somebody report it happening to them like that. Saying your chances of being drugged by someone off tinder is higher than out of the clubs or streets is being just ignorant.

In my opinion, and from extensive use, it's wayyyyyyyyy safer than going out to meet someone. You have time to build some knowledge of that person. Sure they can be lieing about all, but when she shows up to the apartment and looks different or whatever you can just turn her away. Remember. These girls are hookers. Why would tinder be more of a risk than any other app or going to Hollywood or the clock tower?

I had them come to me from tinder and they had to give their I'the to the guest desk. Then if something did happen there is a full paper trail where if I meet them in the club there certainly is not.

Also, I don't even drink although I always would stock the place with booze for them.

Anything can certainly happen anywhere but safety speaking I like my odds a lot. To me it seems like a much safer option.

Yes this happens with Tinder in Medellin, but does not necessarily mean it happens in Cartagena, Bogota, or Cali the same. Just like finding chicks on Facebook is a thing in Medellin but not other places around Colombia. We can't come on this thread and tell people to find chicks on Facebook; likewise we can not say chicks on Tinder are drugging people. Those things are city specific, not website or country specific.
