If you guys think prices are crazy high in Melbourne I recently spent a few days in Darwin. 100 for a handy and 200 for boom boom. Lots of massage shops in CBD, didn't get out to the suburbs but I'd imagine same prices. I agree with you, and while some punters are silly enough to pay these prices, the girls will charge them, all of us need to stand our ground on this, if they ask for a ridiculous price, just walk, they'll get the message, and there's always a cheaper option around the corner.

The vast majority of AMP are simply not sustainable as businesses. Their reluctance to adapt to economic change is beyond belief. I cannot think of any service industry that offers such poor VFM. These shops need to realise, consumers are watching their hip pockets like never before and retail is down significantly everywhere. Eastlands is conservatively reporting a thirty eight percent downturn in trade. Whose got 150 $ to throw at these stupid girls with absolutely no guarantee of a good outcome. Pre-covid I would have at least one or two sessions per week but those days are gone. It was an out-of-control habit thankfully broken during lockdown. However, when the urge arises I go to certain shops that will do 70 ph with fixed price extras are repeat visits. Otherwise, it is a complete waste of money and a sure way to throw your money down the drain.

I see conversation on deregulation and think what does this mean? Nothing at all except an Act of parliament attempt to decriminalise AMP. VP have better things to do and have not got the resources. It is business as usual. Perhaps more shops now but honestly, the tucker they have is not worth it with the same greedy girls year after year; boring boring boring, I would rather walk and keep my hard-earned.

For us as punters it means until consolidation occurs we will have better purchasing power in the mum and dad shops. The differentiation model ones, like springvale Rd Forrest Hill or the thai ones in oakleigh wawa will have it over us for a long time to come.

Hey man, share a little more on the location of Springvale Rd Forrest Hill? Also Wawa Oakleigh, I know the place as I went there months ago and they are all of the young variety. It was a bad experience with one of those girls being very negative, standoffish and just bad attitude overall.

I drove along north Rd today towards oakleigh.

The number of rnt has exploded and one wonders how any are making profits.

There are now three before ormond station including a new one called Korea massage, upstairs. There is workshop of course and then about 7 more on the way to oakleigh on or just off north Rd.

There are also several three or four thai places which are questionable so I've not said they're rnt. Possibly they are but depends on the lady.

I think many of the small China mum and dad rnt will start to fail soon as the deregulation has eroded margins, not by reducing prices but reducing the barriers to entry. This means that only two types of rnt will survive long term. Differentiation models or low cost operations. Expect more Korea massage or Japan massage or thailand massage and fewer shanghai massage. More mega rnt too, a la brothels in the 00s.
