I am currently booked at the Areca Lodge, but am thinking of moving someplace a little bit less busy. Areca is fine, but it feels like a frat house to me.

The party atmosphere at the Areca is a feature, not a bug, for many guys.

But if you're looking for a hotel in central Pattaya that's a bit more chill consider the Whitehouse Condotel on Soi 13, between Second Road and Beach Road. It's a smaller property that caters to golfers, and those guys tend to retire early. No problem at all with joiners, but they would probably frown on loud parties in your room. Speaking of rooms, they have two different sizes, plus a few suites. Within crawling distance of the legendary Sportsman Pub.

The time has finally come, planning the first trip to Pattaya. I have been following this forum for a while and I wanted to reach out to you for some specific input. It will be me and one of my buddies going on this trip and we plan to stay there for 3 weeks. We want a condo (preferably for 2 but we can get separate ones depending on price) or hotel somewhere in the middle of all locations (Walking street, LK Metro, SOI 6, Tree House. Etc) since it's our first time visiting and we really want to hit all of those spots at least ones. Price range wise we are looking for mid range to mid-high range. Nothing breaking the bank but something nice since we are going to be there for 3 weeks. Please drop places that you have stayed before and you think it would be a great for for our trip. View Talay 6 remains my recommended choice for a first trip to Pattaya.

Don't let the Cheep Charlies posting up in here rain on your parade. Tell them to stay home and work some more so they can afford nicer lodging. Also tell them to save money on the pussy and use it to get a decent room and treat themselves to a good meal.

The time has finally come, planning my first trip to Pattaya. It will be me and one of my buddies going on this trip. I have been reading through this forum for a while but decided to reach out to see if you can give me some specific input of where is the best place to stay. We are planning to go for 3 weeks and since it's our first time we want to be in the center of everything where we can go to all location LK, SOI 6, Tree town, walking street on different nights. (I know all of them are spread apart). We are looking for either condo for two or hotel that is in the medium / medium high end of price. We do want something nicer looking and not run down. Location, location, location. Pratumnak is a very good area but I wouldn't recommend it for first time or even semi-occasional visitors. You'll need a motorbike or Bolt to go anywhere. If you have been to Pattaya a lot and know exactly what you are getting into, then Pratumnak is a good choice. It's better to stay on or close walking distance to a baht bus route I. E. Beach Road, Second Rd, or Bukhaow.

For a first time visitor no. But once you know your way around, if you prefer a quieter environment I would certainly consider it.

In fact, I do more than just consider it. I live in Jomtien. I just looked at an off the plan condo in Pratumnak. Walking distance to a Baht Bus route. I have never paid more than 200 THB (6 USD) for a one way ride anywhere in Pattaya. Often what I do is get in a Bolt the first time. Pay attention to the route and learn. Then often times I can do it via Baht bus on my own the next time.

Do not be afraid to get on a Baht Bus and just ride it where it takes you. If you are going too far off the beat and path, hit the button, get off and ask the driver to direct you where you want to go. Have I wasted 10 THB doing that? I sure have. Have a learned a lot doing that? Gained knowledge way more valuable than the 10 THB. This knowledge has opened up a range of options to me. Now, be prepared to spend 20 minutes getting from Jomtien to Central Pattaya on the Baht Bus. But as you all know, I am time rich and cash poor so I just don't give a fuck!

Just as a note, next month my rental is going up by 8000 THB because of high season and it is already booked. So, I moved out and found a unit across the street and a block away for 8000 THB / month. Options are available. Just saying.

I recommend you scope out the LK Metropole; similarly situated as the Areca, but more quiet. The Areca is one of the most popular mongering hotels in Pattaya, so it is always full.

A-One New Wing Hotel is of the crap ones where they want 1000 baht per guest per visit even if you book room for 2. They say this is for the security service they provide, I. E. , calling you before handing over ID back to the chick. LOL.

They clearly don't want sex tourists in their rooms LOL.
