Posts: 573Reality Check. Zona Norte is a Slice of Heaven
Been a long time since posting and Zona Norte visit and miss the place. The energy. The fun.
Especially for those living in Southern California where it's relatively easy to travel to Zona Norte, it is still an amazing place to visit.
Yes prices do go up and it sounds like they have been, But. You need only to go to a club in San Diego or Las Vegas to realize just how lucky we have it. Do you realize that you can sit in a relatively safe bar, drink a beer that's not that expensive and squeeze the wonderful bodies of the girls for just a buck! Do you realize what that would cost you in the US if you could find a place that would allow it? Pickup a street girl in LA sometime on Figueroa Street. Perhaps they are not "that" expensive but I would say it is more risky in terms of safety than the popular Zona Norte bars.
I was recently watching the history channel and realizing just how hard it was to live in the 1900's. And it really makes you appreciate what we have.
Zona Norte is no different when it comes to appreciating what we have. There are very very few places on this planet where you have the diversity of income we do in the US compared to Mexico. Bangkok takes a day just to travel not to mention the $$$ ticket.
Just something to keep in mind when your whining about the bars down there.

Was the last raise lady drink price increase just last year or 2 years ago? I sure hope that HK is not planning to increase the price by $1 every year.
I can't ever imagine a lady drink being more than $20, which could be within a decade if HK is going to raise the price every year.

For those that do make it a permanent career they draw their boundaries and stick to it and are willing to say NO to business that crosses their boundaries. Those people are very comfortable because they have their own grove and work-life balance. They also tend to have regular clients that ensure a healthy income.
Example: I only see a 'lifer' (her name is Karumi) and I am convinced she is leading a comfortable life and I don't need to feel sorry for her. I know she has many regular clients and does financially very well. She goes on month long vacations twice a year, etc. She has hour daily work schedule and personal time for jogging, etc.

Posts: 51Yep, I definitely wouldn't become a regular there, again, unless I moved back to san diego. That was easy to throw a yes at once a month.
Now I limit my trips to when I hit a milestone in some area, like seeing my bottom abs, or hitting a particular monthly income for my business.
Just pure celebration of something.
I almost wish san diego would split into a separate state with new governor and new laws, politics, etc. Maybe I'd move back.

Posts: 37More ranting!. Too many "lifers"
Another thing I've noticed is that, as these clubs mature, they get stuck with a lot of "lifers", and the turn over rate goes down, meaning less fresh girls.
It's like in other occupations where you have unproductive people but they have tenure so you can't get rid of them.
I swear, some of the girls working at HK have literally been there since the dawn of time. This is the same reason I was never a fan of Adelitas: too many hardened lifers.
Also, having a lot of lifers means that new girls are more quickly indoctrinated and exposed to hardened lifer attitudes.
Don't get me wrong. You can still have a great time in Tijuana and HK, you just have to pick your spots more. Also, you have to go there more or less consistently to find any good deals. If I was only going for a vacation, I would say that there are more attractive options out there. Of course, I live in So Cal, so I could go every week if I wanted.
