For anyone who visits the US on an ESTA, rather than a visa, visiting a country which is on the US list of state sponsored terrorism countries (including Cuba) disqualifies you from the ESTA scheme permanently. Therefore you have to then apply for a visa whenever you want to visit the US. In my country, the current wait time for an interview for a visa is over 2 years!

I'm currently seriously contemplating a trip in a few months to Cuba, having gotten sick of denying myself the pleasure of visiting an interesting country for fear of not being able to visit the US (which I've found less and less appealing as the years go by, but it does prove useful for transit to other countries sometimes). I'm hopefully soon to have a Canadian passport, which will also solve the problem.

My comment on the 6 month ban was the need to get a visa, which as you correctly mentioned, takes close to a 2 years wait. So, I should have used visa requirement, instead of ban.

The reason I posted on this subject was to alert people who may have been on the same situation as the UK monger.

He came to the US and met with fellow monger who then drove down to Miami and flew into Cuba. Not knowing about the ban to enter the US once you visit Cuba. Evidently he had the necessary docs or whatever a UK visitor needs to visit the US, otherwise he wouldn't have been allowed into US territory in the 1st place, where that's an ESTA (yes it's ESTA, not ETIAS) visa on the way back to the US. Like I mentioned on my original post, when one visits Cuba then this triggers an automatic 6 months ban on you to enter the US in case you are not aware of it.

Again, main goal being to put a hurt on the tourism dollars Cuba gets.

That makes much more sense. There are a few places that are explicit about visitors not being able to access the rooms so the distinction is clear. I may book two different places, one for sleeping and one for play. Much appreciated.

I think it's actually the other way around. By them sailing I'd exclusive to you, they're saying that you aren't staying in a room where another family lives. Basically, there's no one there to bug you, high translates to there's no one there to stop you from bringing company back to the place.

Regular Casas are usually paid in cash, unless is an airbnb Casa, which can be charged previusly to your card by Airbnb company.

Chances are your credit card will not work in Cuba. At all.

You would need to have a credit card from a Canadian bank to work in Cuba. Everything from the US is blocked.

Just avoid places with a doorman, owner who lives in the building, and ask if guests are ok. Trust me it's easier than you think. 100% of the hosts I asked said it was ok. Not one said I could not bring guests. I think they get it.

So right you are! Some girls I do without. But now I got a real problem here in Kenya. It might have been gonorrhea. I assumed chlamydia 1st and I started with Doxycycline 2 x100 MG per day. It's also given for malaria prophylaxis, so a good excuse to take it anyhow.

One thing I am seeing on air bnb is a lot of the hosts mention that the casa particulares are for exclusive use of the guests? I think this is their way of saying they are not chica friendly. If there any hosts that can help excahnge money and leave me in peace to indulge it is appreciated. Also, is the malecon the best place to pull chicas? I don't have any interest to go out to loud bars and will likely do most of my mongering during the daytime. Muchas Gracias Amigos.

Bring USD. Note do not change at the airport or Government Local. Going Rate is about 260 cuc per usd and climbing day by day.

I would also bring some Bread, Cheese and Munchies; maybe salami as well. Even coffee. They are in very Dire Straits now.

There are plenty of panaderias selling large a fresh loaf bread for less than a dollar. You can find pretty much everything you mentioned at the normal bodegas, paying maybe 20% more than what you would pay in Europe. Things that are scarce are meds, if you live in a country where you can buy antibiotics without prescription bring loads.
