Posts: 2632Went to Rosarito and had brunch at Dymitri's. The brunch was good, but was not overly impressed. I have only found a few great places to eat in Tijuana / Rosarito. I still consider LOS Arco's to have the best food in Tijuana. Especially in terms of price, quality & ambiance. Ceasars is very good as well. The seafood taco stand on the corner of Calle Coahuila & Constitucione is really great as well. Their shrimp tacos are best I have had.

I've actually known about Tacos El Gordo for many years. I go to Las Vegas all the time and they have like 4 locations there, of which I've been to 3 of the locations going back years ago and have also been to the Chula Vista location in San Diego. The only Tacos El Gordo location I've been to in Tijuana is the one on Constitucion in Zona Centro, which I've only been to a couple of times. But yeah, their tacos are also great and I definitely recommend them.

I'm definitely not a foodie and agree that going by word of mouth is the best recommendation but in the case of some of the taco places mentioned you have both the foodies and the regular customers agreeing that it's a good place. For example the seafood place. Like I said when parking next to it it was always packed so they must be doing something right because this was before everyone got info from the internet.

In other words I would trust recommendations by mongers here who have eaten at the place rather than what is posted online by food review sites.

Since you asked about other taco spots I'll post two articles that were recently written about the best tacos spots in Tijuana because a few weeks ago was National Taco Day.
The link below has a seafood place that I wasn't smart enough to try when living in Tijuana and the ex and I often parked right next to it and the place would always get full so I didn't try it but it's definitely one of the most popular places in Tijuana. None of the others I have tried.

Now the next link did a list of top 5 tacos places in Tijuana but asked Chat GP. The seafood place makes this list also so it's definitely something to try. Tacos El Gordo is a great spot but for some reason they have different locations in Tijuana but the one at this address is always regarded as the best. The good thing is that the seafood taco place is close by so if you have a big appetite you could try both within an hour.

Not sure what other types of tacos you like but over next to the Hidalgo market which is within walking distance of the Zona you can find one of the best birra tacos around. They usually sell out by the early afternoon so I'the recommend this as a breakfast. It's called Tacos Fitos.
I hope you get a chance to try some new places on your next visit and it's great that you make an effort to venture away from the Zona.
