However one thing I never worried about there was safety much less underage would be the knockout blow for them.
Once I was at the M about 2 years ago or so and I pulled a girl from the pool when that was a thing and was going up the hill to M2 and 3 cops met me at the end of street. Told me to stand back and scanned the girls ID in the computer and fingerprinted her there to verify age. Was a I nervous. Nope because I knew they ran a tight ship when it comes to those things. Cops gave her the ID back and went on my way. It was a hassle that I didn't like but underage there I don't see it.

BTW, recently they have stopped letting the girls go up the stairs to smoke weed. No idea if short term ban or permanent.

I forgot to mention that I had a made to order breakfast at 8 am each morning there but I was the only guest who was up at that time. Breakfast at the hotel was big enough that I did not really need lunch.

Posts: 834My First Stay At Hotel M
From photos, I already knew what Hotel M looked like from the outside but once I got there, it took me awhile to figure out that the entrance was through the black steel gates there. By the time of my arrival, the hotel clerks had already left but a security guard was there to let me in and actually check me into my room. The room itself was clean but was clearly outdated with the wooden closets and shelves in much need of replacement. The bathroom was probably the most recent with any renovations but the towels were all worn out. But the place was functional and the reason why I chose Hotel M was because it is a monger's hotel with English speaking staff, girl friendly without any extra fees to bring in the ladies and there is a pickup bar right downstairs where the available ladies come. Ladies are also screened at the bar as well as the hotel when we bring them to our rooms. They know the drill as they have to register with their ID with the security guard. This safety factor along with the ease of meeting and bringing the girls right upstairs even with limited Spanish made me decide to book at Hotel M.
After I checked into my room and got something to eat across the main street where the Ovienda mall and McDonald's were, I relaxed a bit before heading down to the bar which doesn't really pick up until 10 pm. Before, the bar was attached directly to the hotel but now we have to go outside and go to the bar entrance which is just steps away from the hotel entrance gates.
Although the rooms need major renovations, I still liked my stay here because of the bar just downstairs which made pulling the girls so darn easy. And I loved the fact that the security guard was on site. The guys I met there were also really cool which I appreciated a lot because mongering in my Toronto area scene is a solitary activity. Down here there is comradarie among fellow mongers who shared intel on not only Medellin but other destinations around the world.
I'm undecided if I would rebook this hotel since the advantages are real. I'll just have to wait and see if they renovate in the future, how it affects their room rates compared to an Airbnb but I may miss out on those hotel bar advantages.

I would rather watch corn grow in my front yard or watch rust grow on my car, than wait for hours women to show up in the dark, damp windowless basement they call a bar. Nor are special nights of the week like Saturday advertised as "slow" nights. Your experience varied, but my time is worth more than yours, apparently. Hope you enjoy continuing to go to the "Mansion Spook House". I wish Aussie Greg re-invested some of his profits to make The Haunted "Mansion" like it was 10 years ago and 20 years ago, like I knew it to be. All the hours and boring time there are yours, I will not be returning.

Posts: 136I always find it a challenge with messages that throw every complaint into a single message. Trying to figure what to focus on, what to ignore.
I assume by your 2nd paragraph you are referring to the bar at night. As others and I have posted in this forum before, Saturday night is one of the slowest nights as many are either out with boyfriends or planning to spend Sunday with family or have dates they pre-arranged earlier in the week. So not sure why you would think many girls would be there. For the 'most girls' you are looking at Tue-Thu nights, and even then. As has been posted before. They go in / out throughout the night. You need to spend the evening there. I was there three weeks ago with 23 girls and 2 guys at 10 pm on a Thursday. But 15 minutes before there were 6 and 1 hour later there were 10. They are in constant entry / exit motion.
For more and nicer towels, a simple $50 k COP tip ($13) to the cleaning ladies when you arrive will give you all the towels you want and faster cleaning service. Guess what, that advise has also been posted here several times too.

Posts: 218Bring your own towels and wash cloth
If you go there I recommend you bring your own towels and wash clothes because all the towels in my bathroom, even though rolled up like swans? Or something, had strings hanging from them, yes all of them were shredding. The towel on the towel bar seemed like a rag for a mop, it was so worn, had strings from it and holes in the middle. And they do not use fabric softener either, so the towels seem like sandpaper against your skin.
For $100+ a night, for one room, they could definitely buy some new towels. It seemed like a low classed youth hostel. The attraction of women being there was also a nothing, by the way, I was there on a Saturday night when one would think many girls would be there.
I would complain to the front desk manager but she was not courteous. When I tried to speak Spanish to her, to help her understand me, she criticized me for switching from English into her language. Maybe it was not her day. I was able to get the safe working after 2 hours and 3 employees played with it and raised their voices at me.
The included breakfast the next morning was a plus, fruit, eggs and toast, coffee. A soda from the locked cooler cost 7,000 mil pesos, about twice the cost of the nearby store. Hope your experiences are better. I was able to get the business cards from several other hotels in the area, most are cheaper because the prices were in pesos.

Posts: 218Has gone downhill over the years.
I spent one night there last week. I last stayed there 10 and 20 years ago when it was jumping with women and exciting. Now the place was sad. No repairs for years, the decor was about 20 years old. Now they have a bar with a separate entrance from the street, to comply with the Mayor's rules. No girls soliciting around the pool any more. If you want a woman from the Maison you have to go into the bar area and get one.
I went into the bar area twice. Once about 8 pm and the bar was totally empty. Second time about midnight and no women, 4 men. One woman was leaving with a hotel guest, she was trashy in my opinion with tattoos covering most of her body. She eyed me and tried to talk to me while going into the mansion with him; I supposed she wanted me to pick her the next day?? At midnight I asked the door man where the women were and he said there were 3 inside, but they were in the bathroom. I did not see any of them.
Beware of getting a room on the first floor, the noise from the bar disco prevents you from sleeping until 1 am when the bar closes, if you stay there get a second-floor room. The bar is simply a converted garage or basement with no windows and the entrance is outside.
Someone posted on google search that they gave the Mansion a 0 on a scale of 1-5 because that was the lowest they could rate it. I must concur. Its ok if you need a place for a night or two, one of the guests was talking about Blackbeard's resort in the Sosua area, and this was dead compared to Blackbeards. Sad it has not been maintained. Staff seem ok but will walk away when you ask for something. The room safe did not work and I spent my first hour trying to get 3 people to get it working. Breakfast is in another converted garage. Aussie Greg is not putting much money into this property. You can probably do better getting any hotel near Parque Lleras for less money.
