Can't you VPN yourself into the USA?

One company I worked for, every paper print, every copy you make on removable drives or any drives other than they have a signature on is recorded. Your keyboard hits are also recorded with cameras and mics turned on. Some companies are just too tight with it. There is too much international IP espionage going on. All direction, all the time.

Yeah, at least at my place of employment, accessing my company's intranet from an international location (at least without prior approval) would get flagged immediately and result in a call from my IT department. Definite no-no where I work. Funny thing is, if I were to access their intranet from some random strip club in the USA, it's highly likely they wouldn't notice or even care, it's more so the international thing they're concerned about.

I agree 100%, Tijuana is way more fun and the food is amazing in Tijuana. Both Food and service is very average in MTY.

MTY has gotten way more expensive, especially lodging and restaurants.

Why don't you get an airbnb in Tijuana with descent internet and a VPN?

I need use a web based GIS system daily for my job (I work for someone else) and does not work outside the USA.

I could try a VPN but am close to retirement so just not worth risking anything for a piece of ass at this point. If I had my own company which I am trying to start up would not matter and I could stay south of the border many more Dias!

Just got back from Tijuana. I crossed the border on Saturday and checked into Cascadas. As others have mentioned, they are now taking $40 as a deposit. My hotel experience was quite poor this trip. They gave me a room on the 8th floor. There are only two elevators that go to that floor, both are in the back of the hotel, and both were out of commission for most of my stay. So I ended up climbing a lot of stairs. Also, there was a lot of construction noise during my trip. I hope the hotel management is able to right the ship.

With crazy costs of decent hotels in San Diego the past year even Feb. 2023 haven't been able to do this since. I add up 4 nights decent hotel either in downtown SDO or Imperial Beach + airfare from TX and already overhead costs just to be near the action = $1500 without anything spent in now getting expensive Tijuana is high waste of $. I can fly from Austin now on Viva Aerobes for $200 roundtrip to MTY and hotels in low $100 range however cannot work from home outside USA However I can take trips to MTY over long weekends to satisfy basic man needs in mid-range brothels. Saves a bunch to just go bust a nut very couple months.

Yes, I am living in SA, it is insanely expensive to travel to San Diego and Tijuana now. I want to go, but so much cheaper for me to travel to CDMX or MTY. I do miss HK.

Although he is now all occupied, a friend of mine rents a room in his 4 br, 3 b town house in SD, somewhat decent area, not fancy but average. He was charging $800/ M. If you want nice area Hotels in SD you pay premium $$.

If you look for short time room shares close to San Ysidro with very affordable payments I believe it is possible searching in Craigslist. AbB might have some deals too.

There are companies now a days that can sell you carry on modems for internet access where ever you are in the US.

You probably know all the above but wrote it as a note to myself too.

Similarly, I am now over 70. Never smoked or a heavy drinker. Spent a few years in my 20's and 30's as a professional athlete, but ended up driving a computer for a few decades. Totally ignored my health. Started mongering at 64 when I weighed 232 at 5' 8" . Now I walk two miles a day and do some basic exercises and I am 178. Motivated by mongering. I am also learning basic Spanish. Same motivation.
