For Otto.I think the best one to take female friend woud be Stringfellows.This is where I took a lady friend of mine when I was visiting London and wanted her to go with me.Its classy, slightly expensive but not that high,and is most often frequented by British pop star Robbie Williams and Simon Cowell of American Idol Fame.I have been told by the bouncers that a lot of the cast members of "Neighbors"(I have no idea what that is) frequent the place as well.It looked like it had a great clientel. Lots of upper class people along with a lot of rich Indian docotors spending a lot of money here.Classy clientele,and great girls.I think this will change most girls idea of a strip club being shallow.

I don't think you're missing anything - I think the strip scene in London is as sterile as you perceive.

The strip clubs aren't really my scene, but my understanding is that the "look don't touch" rules are pretty strictly enforced. With the clubs in central London, the police and Westminster Council are looking for reasons to fine and shut them down. To be honest they bigger clubs like Spearmint Rhino are pulling in so much money they don't want to jeopordise their licence with the girls pulling extras for peanuts - I know someone who does business with one of the big club owners and the "legitimate" money they're making is frightening. I've seen the crowds that the Shoreditch places pull and I don't think they need to risk such a cash cow by tolerating the girls breaking the rules. I hear rumours about the bigger clubs and the extras on offer, but to be honest I think it is more of a high rollers thing - even if something's on offer I think it would involve serious cash.

Some of the smaller pubs that do strip shows will sometimes offer something more for a bit, but word gets around so quickly that invariably the places will be shut down really quickly - it's an easy bust for the police and wherever the strip clubs are there's a residence association wanting it shut. Easy PR for the police and the local rag.

If you read any of the strip boards or local punting boards you'll rarely hear anyone who has first hand experience of a venue which is as full on as you get in most places abroard in London - someone may know someone, who heard something, but it's rarely a direct experience.

I think the scene may be more liberal and interesting outside of London, especially outside of the bigger towns and cities.

I would suggest the Astral club on 5 Brewer Street in Soho.

Nice upmarket, good decor and hot girls. I remember when it opened about 5 years ago. Great atmosphere especially with a ladyfriend.

Stringfellows is ok but only as I know Peter and his brother pretty well but it is a tourist attraction more than anything else but good when you have a ladyfriend.

Check out and Astral. I am sure you will like it.

I'd probably recommend Stringfellows though I haven't been for a while. Everything's done in the best possible taste and you might even get to meet the man himself. Or even Chris Quinten.

I haven't been to Spearmint Rhino since it was ticked off for excessive raunch (unfortunately!) but that might also be a good place to go.

There's also a For Your Eyes Only in White Horse Street just off Shepherds Market but I haven't been inside.

If you want to compare high class with something a bit lower down the scale then you could try a quick visit to the Flying Scotsman in Kings Cross (kidding, it's a dump)

I was at Glow yesterday (sunday). There was one east european girl and one spanish girl working. I chose the Tcheque girl. She did the job without any enthusiasm. CBJ and french kissing but without passion. Creaking bed. Scandal babes is far superior. They might be more expensive. But at Glow they want and try convince you to chose one hour session which costs 120 pounds. The same thing costs 150 at scandalbabes. But in a beautiful apartment in the best par of london plus shower before and after. Also real GFE experience. Before you know it, the girl has her tongue in your mouth. The kisses linger in your mouth a long time after. On punter net field reports there was a review about Glow but it disappeared and now the site says the agency faked the reports. I don't understand how they could do this.

Being a Londoner who has (a) been to a number of strip bars (from Shoreditch to Stringy's, Rhinos to Secrets) and (b) travelled reasonably far and wide (Thailand, Argentina, Amsterdam) in search of mongering experiences, I'm interested in other people's views on the scene in the UK compared to other countries.

I don't know if its because I'm a local, that I miss the obvious happening because I'm not looking out for it, but in strip bars round the world, you can have a chick dance for you and then sometimes they are working girls too so you could arrange for them to come back to your hotel/apartment. Am I blind, or does this not happen a lot in the UK (esp London)?

I've been to so many strip bars in London, and it always seems to be the look but don't touch story. And then I go abroad, and it almost seems to be like every hotel lobby, every bar, is crawling with ladies whose affections are for hire...

Am I being very thick? Is it because I live here that my brain is filtering out what any tourist/travelling businessman from abroad would spot immedately? Or is the bar/club scene in London really that sterile?

Visited London after eons.

I must say it has changed apart from the fact that it is now extremely expensive - relative to SE Asia.

Reached London after flying British Airways club class, boy those flat beds are really nice.Since I arrived on a sat morning and my work was on monday had the weekend to play and sight see.

Took a mini cab from heathrow from an agency called taxi on time. No I am not recommending them just that they were the cheapest from the three agencies I checked with .

Took 41 quid from Heathrow to Canary wharf(the other end of town).Quite reasonable actually when you compare it to taking the heathrow express to paddington station and then a black cab to Canary wharf both of which would cost about the same and maybe a little faster.

Checked into the Marriott west India Quay hotel and they had upgraded me into a suite. A really nice hotel if you ask me, a bit on the expensive side at 300 pounds a night, but being in a suite helped. A new hotel which has just opened 3 months ago/

Spent Saturday inviting an old friend over and getting to know her body once again. Boy that felt good. She had to go back in the evening post which i took off to reccee soho.

Reached Soho and walked about.Saw signs for nude shows where they invited me in for 5 pounds to see the ladies naked and upon inquiring futher, 30 pounds for full service and an additional 10 pounds for the room .Seemed a bit dodgy to me and I did recall having read in the forun somewhere that these places can be rip offs.

So wisely the head ruled the lil one and i came back to the hotel, called up the ol friend once again to come on over the next day.Since she is married and had to go to church the next day, she came in early afternoon,post which I made sure she came again and again.

Caught the flight back early tuesday morning,promsing myself that the next time I come to london, I would partake the other dishes London has to offer.

You mention Glow, this is a flat with normally two girls working each day whereas Scandalbabes is an agency with £150 minimum. Most of the girls at Glow are eastern european, services start at a very sensible £40 and if you don't fancy the ladies you just say so and depart. Stratford is not that far out, it is on the central line or the main line from the city (Liverpool St). You can then walk to the flat in a few minutes, no cab needed.
