Seoulmac, if you have never been to Thailand. You need to make a trip there. It is really the Adult Disneyland of Asia. You will not believe it. The Philippines is fun, but personnal security is a concern. Thailand is the ticket for fun!

I agree totally with seoulmac, enjoy what you had. I lived in Seoul from 83 thru 93 and had alot of fun in Korea, back then. I had a great network of friends both Korean and Foreigners, the fun was to be had everywhere. The locals would love to be with us from the west. I could go most any where and could speak Korean. Now in my upper thirties, still able to speak Korean, it is total different.

Korea is a total different place now. Outside the tourist areas, girls are in a whole new game. The males in Korea are making it harder and harder for the girls to be seen with foreigners. They tell the girls that it is disgrace to be with men from other countries.

The main reason for this is male to female are not equal in Korea. Right now there is about 2 males for every female in the 18 to 35 year old area. This happen un-natural during the 70's thru early 90's, couples would test at the earliest possible date, if the un-born baby was male or female. If they were female, they were abort the baby to have a male child. Which can not be done any more. Because of this for many years, now there is to many males in Korea, causing the males to go to the Philippines, China, and Southeast Asia for wifes. There is also many families, buying there sons wifes from these countries also. I know one family that bought their son a wife from main China for $2000.00, site un-since. They could not even talk to each other for months. What kind of marriage will this be. Because of this males really dislike there girls to be hanging out with westerns.

I have been married to my Korean wife for 11 years now. She was a walkway and magzine model in Korea for clothes, when we got married and still has the look of a model. Everytime we go back to Korea together, you should hear what the Korean Males say to my wife pasting in the streets when we are together, not knowing I know Korean.

The playing fields in Korea has change alot. It is more like Japan now! The Korean womem still like western, because how we treat our women. But pressures from friends and family can change their minds.

So enjoy the fun when you can in Korea, especially when your host is paying.

thaidude, count your blessings as you did what others can only dream of, screwing on someone else's dime! Consider yourself lucky as Korea is the only country I have come across where the prostitutes are selective and picky and where money is not always king, unless it is endorsed by a local or you are willing to pay more than the US! (at least that is my benchmark and if I am not willing to pay $300 in US why would I pay it elsewhere?!?).

I am jealous of your experience but glad you had a good time. Could only wish I could have "fallen in a love for a day" as well but think I will have to go to another Asian country to do so. Being 30, decent looking and in shape and still not getting any action is taking a toll on me personally here. Think it is time to visit Thailand or Phillipines for the first time. Will I be extremely overwhelmed by all of the emotional stimuli after departing from such a cold, impersonal country?!?! Who knows. Will find out in November though.

The trip was a short one, two nights/three days. The president of my partner company picked me up for dinner and the night of fun. This is quite remarkable considering that he's almost 20 years my senior. In a conservative Korean society, it's certainly very unusual for a person of that rank/age to afford someone my age such respect.

The entertainment involves going to a fairly upper class room salon. I was given the first choice of girl to sit with and the one I chose is very cute even by Korean standard. She speaks very little English so my partner had to help with the transalation work alot of time.

All the girls and the mamasan seem to like me quite well as they consider my look to be attractive. I was very surprised to find out that toward the end of the night, the girl I'm sitting with will be going back to my hotel with me courtesy of my Korean partners.

The other three also took their respective girls back with them but for a short time...with the usual custom of the president being the old man having to "go home" first. As for me, they got my girl to stay with me until the morning.

Again, they went out of their way to ensure that I got the best treatment. Never once did I feel out of place for being a foreigner. If anything, it's almost as if my foreigness makes it even better...as ironic as it may sound in Korea.

The experience I had with my girl was very GFE. Next afternoon, the mamasan of the establishment called to find out if I was satisfied. She said that my girl wants to see me again that evening.

The mamasan wants to know what time I have available so she can have her girl leave work to see me. All this without paying. Wow. However, I did find out from my girl that the bill the night before, just for my split were around $800 USD.

The girl came to meet me at the restaurant at Hyatt. She took me to discotechque and shopping at Namdemoon market. In case you're wondering, she pays for her own drinks, our food, and cab fee. The only thing I paid for that night was the souveniers I bought.

She accompanied me back to my hotel where I had several great GFE sessions with her. She stayed with me until I checked out for the airport. If she's to be believed, she'll be coming to visit me in BKK. Based on my exprience, there's no reason not to because working girls in Korea are less predatorial than their counterpart in BKK.

Sure I missed going to 855 but it looks like quality wins out over quantity on this trip.
Thaidude, after living and working in Korea for ten years, and doing business in Korea for 20 years. I can tell you one thing about your trip to Korea. The girl from the saloon room was on the pay roll the whole time you were with her. Your business friend in Korea, told the mamasan to insure the girl takes care of you, during your visit. To also insure that you do not pay for anything. I have been doing business in Korea for to long time, that is common in Korea. For coming BKK, thats is probaby true, because one of the growing countries for Korean to go on vacation to is Thailand. She is looking to have some fun, and probaby enjoy the time with you. Enjoy it, but remember somebody is paying for it.

We're not in Kansas anymore Toto

I have to take exception to a statement made du Stud_lee
    in his last post.
    Stud_lee wrote:

"I find that Koreans are outright hostile to any foreigner
    regardless of your skin tone"

I'm not sure what country you were in but it certainly
isn't the place I've spent the last 5 months. Of course,
there is always some people in any country who will take advantage of foreigners or give them a hard time. I know about foreigner pricing in some shops and markets. Is this any different from anywhere else. I spent years managing electronics stores back home and know of several occasions where I heard of someone selling a video camera or VCR to tourists from Europe knowing the eqiupment would not work when they returned home. There are very few foreigners in Korea relative
to other counties and you will get stared at. It's probably more surprise or curiosity than hostility. I have found the Korean people caring and always willing to help me if I ask or often even when I don't. I have made a few very good Korean friends here. One is the owner of a bar who I met the first week I was here. Last month he closed the bar for four days when I had a break from work and the two of us drove through the East Mountains and went camping and fishing together. Another friend
showed up at my apartment one morning with the cable guys and hooked up my TV and paid in advance for the rest of my stay in Korea. I had decided not to bother with TV here but he said I must be lonley after work in the evenings. These are people I have met that didn't have to do these things. I am regularly asked in the street and in the subway by English speaking Koreans if I need help or directions. When I visited one of the Palaces here the tour was in Korean. A Korean man there with his family took it upon himself to translate most of it for me. korea is a different country and the people are different and you will be treated differently than you will be at home. If you want to be treated like home I suggest you don't leave home.
Sorry Stud, but I couldn't let that one pass.
    Back to the sex!

Thaidude: You are lucky to have the Korean guys treat you to a room salon. I also have Korean business friends take me to room salons. They would do it weekly if I let them. But I don't want to take advantage of the hospitality as there is no free lunch and the price they pay is always over a thousand dollars even without paying for the girls. Most of the girls in Karaoke and Room salons are nice. Some could even become your girlfriend. I have been in Korea a few years and it is easy to pick up girls but harder to take them to bed as easy as years ago. If I have a girlfriend it doesn't last too long as they either push to get married or I get tired.

Yaoming: Spot on! That's an excellent analysis of the situation in Korea -- I full-heartedly agree with most of your points. I disagree with your assertion about Koreans being more discriminatory towards people with darker complexions. I find that Koreans are outright hostile to any foreigner regardless of your skin tone. If you are white, black, Chinese, Japanese, Indian or even a Korean from a foreign country, you will be given a hard time. I have some Korean-Canadian friends who go over there and really struggle to fit in. One of them lived in Seoul for 18 years before moving to Vancouver and speaks perfect Korean! He goes back periodically and is treated differently than the natives. Also, you said you’re from Taiwan. What is the situation like there? I don’t find the Taipei board as informative or “mature” as this one, so I don’t really trust what’s said there. As I understand, the Taiwanese are much friendlier towards foreigners than the Koreans and even the Japanese. Maybe it translates the same way in the brothels too? Most Chinese here in the NYC area are of Taiwanese decent and I find them to be very friendly people. I’m assuming it translates over there as well.

Seoulmate: There are not many Japanese living in Seoul. There are many Japanese tourists though who go to take advantage of the cheap shopping – Korea is an absolute bargain compared to Japan. You can find them around many tourist sites or shopping areas. I found quite a few at the Gyeoungbokgung palace and the Gyeounghuigung palace. They’re also at any of the major shopping districts like Dongdaemun or Youngsan. Japanese seem to like department stores too, but I cannot tell you the name of any in particular. Or you might just luck out like I did and meet some on the subway. They’re pretty easy to tell apart. Oh yeah, I saw quite a few get off at Chungmoro subway station. I have no fucking clue what’s over there though. Maybe they were transferring?

I also heard about Japanese pros being less likely to accept a foreign guy than Koreans, which says a lot! On the flipside, it’s so easy to pick up a girl over there that you’d be crazy to pay for sex!

Seoul: I have to admit that this is one city I was not on my own. I was taken for an evening of entertainment. ahem! ahem!.
These folks can drink ! So, the place I went to, I was the only outsider - My hosts in Seoul has alerted the mamasan - We ate, we drank, and I sampled a tender sweetie. The quality was far superior to what one could find in say the AMPs of NYC or LON. Forget the language skills. I was offered someone and I'm sure she was instructed to take real good care of me

    totally agree with yaoming's comments:

i have been traveling on business to seoul over the past 8 years (and all around Asia - IMHO you really can't beat BKK for overall quality, service and value for money)

korea is now an OECD country and fully on its way to being recognized as an "fully industrialized" country / economy - japan is a good model to look towards for precedent and future trends - most of the red light establishments are strictly for locals and true "insiders" - ie. speak the language, built up trust with an establishment...

miari and most barber places will continue to service foreigners but for how long? i guess all good things must come to an end... but thank your stars for Thailand =)

    seoulmate:

Korean brothels are never going to reach 80% foreigner mark. the little permission of foreigners in their brothels now is probably something that will go away in several years. 80% foreigner and 20% native is thailand's rate. Korea will never be that accomodating or poor to let foreigner infiltrate their RLD like that. A foreigner had no problem going to a RLDin japan in the 50s and 60s as government allowed foreign capita to flow into their economy, but as soon as they had surplus of foreign capita, they pretty much barred foreigners from using their RLD. Same logic going for Korea right now. This is the story I heard from a friend of mine. In the 70s, the Korean gov't actually promoted foriegners(mainly japs) to use their RLD to stimulate influx of foreign capita, but now with foreign reserve of more than 100 billion dollars, they're simply not going to use that kind of means to attract foreign capita. The same story can be said about Taiwan (my native country). 80% foreigner and 20% Koreans in places like Miari is just not a feasible possibility. I understand your wish though, I also have that kind of wishful thinking. Foreigners allowed to roam around in Korean *****house would be awesome, but Korea is simply too rich to allow such things to happen. Maybe Thailand, but not Korea. I have a firm belief that thing are going to get much worse in the future. Whatever sex you get in korea right now, don't take it for granted, it will be gone in a heart beat. The gov't is already making proposal to revamp their red light districts. They believe that such places taints their country's image to foreigners. They are going to do everything in their hands to hide RLD from foreigners. I guess it bears bad image for their country in their opinion. I too wish that Korean RLD are more liberalized like amsterdam, but I believe there is no chance of that. I think someone mentioned that the foreign men are: thai, indians and americans. The perception of foreigners in Korea is not good from my understanding especially, South east asians and indians. Being dark skinned in Korea is a curse, there is no chance that anybody dark will be liked in korea. And there aren't enough white people in korea, catering to them would be disastrous as it will dispell korean men. They have the wrong perception that white people are disease-ridden. It seems that the only foreigners that RLD cater to are other East Asians who are morphologically undistinguishable from Koreans like Japanese and Chinese. I for one don't like this sort of discrimination, but it's all part of the buisness I guess. Korean mobs control most of RLD and I guess they are faithful to such thinking because using a non-discriminatory tactic would eventually hurt their buisness as most of their clients-the natives are dispelled becaused of the presence of foreigners.

Was there this past weekend and it was 80% foreigners walking around and by 11pm, most girls had either gone home or shut down. Windows were closed everywhere and you could even see the Koreans leave after 1 walk through after seeing so many Indian, Thai and American men walking around.
If this is true that Miari was 80% foreigners maybe they will
realize where the money can be made. The main reason that foreigners are turned away is because of Korean men. If Korean men are only 20% then maybe the y will have less influence and the girls will less likely care what they think.
    Just a thought!

Is this true that Japanese girls are more interested in dating foreigners?
Does anyone know where Japaneses girls living in Seoul hang out?
I don't know anything about Apkujung but there are beautifull girls all over Seoul and I would guess you could luck out and find someone anywhere. But why not go where your odds are the best. The Korean girls in Itaewon are there because of foreign guys!
I met a beautiful Korean girl last Friday in Itaewon. Went out with
her on Saturday and am seeing her tomorrow night. I'm having lunch tomorow with a second one that I met recently on a bus.
    When it rains...
I heard pros in Japan are less likely to take foreigners than Korean pros. True?
