Posts: 279I took up residence in Zona Norte at the Fontana hotel (US$90/night) - nice place and teeming with amazingly beautiful, well-off women all over the hotel. The hotel set me up with a driver and car for US$6/hr. I didn't like the driver as he was old and not very friendly--so as I would go from place to place with different cab drivers, I found one I liked who knew about the mongering scene well and stuck with him. My spanish is at best intermediate, but I'm latino so I fit in moreso than others. Although the quality of the women at spots like La Mansion, Lido, Casanova's etc. was very good, they are all major rip-off joints IMO. They charge upwards of 20k pesos for one drink (uno trago!). Not my type of place.
Anyway, my driver told told me the best place to go is an area named Conrrado-so I took him up on it (vamos). Depending on where you are coming from, negotiate with the driver to get you there--from the Norte area expect to pay between 10,000-15,000 pesos depending on your bargaining skills (off the meter). The ride is about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. The best thing to do is have the cab driver drive you around the 5 or 6 blocks so you can get a general feel of the area. It is essentially a red light district with girls all over the place (street, bars, clubs).
Conrrado obviously isn't the greatest of areas, but for the most part I didn't feel like there was any impending doom. The best place here is La Piscina. A huge place with an olympic sized pool smack in the middle of it. There were around 80-100 girls here and an equal number of guys. The ladies were charging anywhere from 30k-80k pesos for short-time. You can definitely negotiate here and you will find some real stunners. My standards are pretty high having spent a significant amount of time in Brazil--but I would say there were at least four 10's here. Boob jobs were pretty common amongst the chicas. To sit around the pool you have to buy a bottle (or half a bottle). Since I was alone I didn't bother and was content standing around with my 3k pesos cerveza (~US$1.25). No cover charge.
My advice would be to check out the four/five blocks around this area as you will find quite a few gems. I'll warn you guys now--if you come out of La Piscina and make a right, at the end of the block you'll find a few transsexuals. They aren't as aggressive as some of the ones in Brazil are--so just take this as a light-hearted warning in case you're stoned or drunk. They are pretty obvious to spot though--not super-passable like the ones in Brazil who can pretty much fool damn near anyone. Speaking of stoned, if you are into perico, you can acquire this from any of the vendors selling gum/cigs for 'un pase'. 4-5k pesos will get you a baggie (~1 gram) which should be enough to wild out for the night.
My favorite place was also the most racous. Its around the block (or two blocks away) and called La Casona in the area of Conrrado. The girls here are not as hot as La Piscina, but you will have fun here. To put this in context, patrons, including the ladies were doing lines in the open on the tables--this might be way to crazy for most here, but I had a BLAST! I met this one guy who calls himself John and can speak broken spanish. He hooked me up with one of his girls, a sexy, petite 19 year old named Xiomara for $55 all night long. Feel free to give him a call at either 3103058652, or 3103058663--just tell him that he hooked up one of your friends with that girl Xiomara. She was pretty cool--we had one long 2 hour session after we got back to my place around 1am, she left at 7am--I was too tired for morning action.
Other action--there are three chica houses within several feet of each other at the corner of Calle 67-18 (I think this is in the Zona Norte area, but it might be right on the border).
Hope this helps some of you.

Try the Dann Carlton. Nicer hotel than the HJ in my opinion, and close to the Zona Rosa and Parque 93. Call them and ask for their corporate rate.
If you prefer a chain with US associations (all be it just in the name), try the Embassy Suites on K7 (at about Cl 60 ~ 70 IIRC).

from the places you mention, I surmise you prefer high end places. Accordingly, La Mansion, Lido, Casanova's etc may be great for you, though I still would check out La 49 (which I've written about in some detail if you scroll down the thread aways).
Almost all hotels in BOG are guest friendly (though SOME may add an extra charge). I'd recommend Hamilton Court then Saint Simon. I would DEFINITELY insist on getting a hotel in the Zona Norte/Rosa.
You say you are going for two weeks so I assume business requires you to stay in BOG. I would STRONGLY urge you to get out of BOG on the weekends (or whenever you can), especially because your Spanish is fluent you should do well in regional capitals.

Just found the name & phone number of the guy who took me to PALACETES,(chica casa) call Hector @ 716-3173 or 315-764-8311, he's kind of a man-for-hire, where ever you need to go or if there's something you are looking for, he can get it or find it for you. Make sure you settle on a price for his service before hand! If he asks where you got the number, tell him that the gringo he helped in November in Villa Luz gave it to you. Can't say he's the cheapest, but he'll deliver, he's just trying to make a living like the rest of us. The Rabbit

Team,
I will be in Bogota in March for two weeks on business. Can you recomend a nice hotel for under 100 USD. I was considering the Howard Johnsons. It looks clean and safe. Are all hotels girl fiendly?
I would also like some guidance in where to go. I have been to every major cat house in Latin America and know Rio like the back of my hand. I know Morrisons in Caracas, Cadillac in Mexico City, Cafe Foto in Sao Paulo, Centaurus/Barbarella in Rio, Blacks in Buenos Aires but have never been to Columboa. I speak Spanish fluently, I am actually from Mexico.
Will anyone be in Bogota the first two weeks in March? PM me with some info. I will be in SP and Rio from the 17th to the 31st of January of this month, if anyone would like me to show them around I would love to.
Regards,
RR

IMHO Bogota is safer than Rio or Sampa (though the rough neighborhoods are less distinct than the favelas in Brasil). IMHO the area around HELP is more dangerous than BOG.

I'm a first time visitor to Bogota getting there in three weeks. I would REALLY appreciate going out with someone from here. I have to admit, I am a bit nervous with everyone cautioning about this and that, I can either sit home and fret or go out and live life to the fullest. I've been Rio, Sao Paulo, DR, PR, Thailand, etc. so I am hoping that Bogota will be comparable in terms of safety and overall atmosphere. My general feeling tells me it is more akin to a NYC/LA atmosphwere (both of which I have been to many times before and even lived). Another couple of interesting sites I've stumbled across are as follows (for all the other newbies like myself!):

Posts: 1194Try Hamilton Court or Saint Simon One Block from Atlantis
Hamilton Court is MUCH better IMHO, but often fully booked in advance. Cost is right aboity 100K (but with Dollar dropping like a rock even that will be $50 soon).
SOMETIMES you can get good deals at tourist info center at El Dorado, but weekends (starting on Thursday night) in ZonaRosa are tough (better to book in advance). You can get Tequendama most weekends for pretty cheap (business hotel in Centro Internacional) but quite far from Zona Norte action.

Ron,
I saw your post on this service. I have thought about using them in the past but was afraid of bait and switch. Can you recommend any specific ladies? Also, what was provided? Please be specific (bbbj, bbbjtc, cim, etc)
I tend to prefer them with a "nasty" streak meaning that they do pretty much everything you see in pornos. Got any recommendations and contact info on pretty ladies that offer such services in Bogota?
Thanks,
Lusty
PS-I will be there next month and will post a report.

Posts: 52Any recommendations for good hotels in Bogota
Hi guys,
I am headed to Bogota next month and I am looking for a decent hotel to stay in the northern part of the city...I used to stay at Hotel charleston which is on carrera 85-13 (right around the corner from Casanovas) but it has gotten quite expensive. I am looking for a place in the $50-$75 USD range. Got any recommendations? I am hoping for a place close to Juan Pablos, Lido, casanova areas.
Thanks,
Lusty

Posts: 6Just back from BOG. Lido was slow. Juan Pablos and Casa Nova were great, with a couple of major babes in each. For nooners I checked out the dozen or so services with web pages lised in the back of the local newspaper. Most were bait and switch, 2 were honest; www.chuscas.com who I used a few months back, and also www.latinwomen.es.mn which kinda shows faces making it difficult to deceive much. Returning in Feb.
