I have never had a good experience with the BBS at Lido. I agree they all want to just rip you off. I don't see how they can expect to get any business with such a bad reputation. My first experience was a completley rushed 75RMB HJ in a cramped, hot, room. My second experience was similar, but at least it was only 50RMB. That was enough of a sampling for me to conclude that I can't recommend any places at Lido for a BBS experience. They are all very agressive, rushed and only want to rip you off. Anyone have info to the contrary?

Finally I was back to Shanghai and Beijing for a short visit (10 days). Man, I was totally drains out. Yeah, join the crowd. Unfortunately, I've had a similar experience with all my BBSing attempts. I swear that the BBSes around Lido are a den of vipers, and I don't think it's possible to get more than a HJ in any of these places. To add insult to injury, they hit me up for a big house fee upon entrance, and then walk you all the way up with first a fee from a massage, then for the HJ, etc. By the time you walk out, it's seriously demoralizing and you've been pretty ripped off. I don't really know how you BBSing guys do it, really. I just can't figure it out how you can talk your way all of the "upgrade" fees (for what should be a base fee, really) or the house fees, or get more than a HJ at these places. When I've asked for a BJ, some of them have outright lied and said, "no problem", until they actually get to that part and then they back out, saying that it's impossible because it's "not clean" (hopefully they're referring to the practice in general, instead of me). They then try to backpeddle to tui you but what is now a higher price. Won't return any money (house fee, etc.) that has been already paid up front either when they go back on what they say and don't deliver services as promised. Den of ROBs, I swear. I'm swearing off BBSes forever.

Thankfully, the situation has been looking up since my last report. I've been to HRC a few times, Pig & Whistle (Thistle?) in Lidu a few times, and have had much more success with that. Took a look at Maggie's, but Mongolians aren't my thing, personally. One block on the south of Chaoyang Bei Lu, a small street is called Hu Jia Luo Nan Lu. From the 3rd Ring Rd, going east, within a mile or so, there are 6 or 7 BBS.
