The “Handsfree restaurant” is situated in a rather secluded area somewhere on the outskirts of HCM about 45mins from the city centre. Sorry for the poor description but it was my 1st time there. From what I have seen of the hundreds of Viet girls in Little Saigon here....they really do not like white guys. People generally like their own kind more than another race. Duh! I just landed in SG and found to my disappointment that some of nice bars such as Bar 131 (on Ng Hue) and maybe Number 1 on Le Thanh Ton were gone. These bars are more geared toward Viet Kieu (I am one) and local Vietnamese. Are there similar places open these days? Or where do the VN young/or not so young hang out for the evening ?

I was reading the freebies part of the thread with a certain interest. I am still debating if I like the freebies better than the bar girls or not and I have done so for the last 15 years.

Freebies are possible but with the exeption of 2 freebies, all the ones I received did involve a lot more work, patience and in the end money.

My first freebie was back in 1993 at the time where Apocalyse Now was a small bar with 6 tables. I walked in had a beer and left with the waitress who was as interested as I was to have sex. Of course while in Viet Nam one is in the perfect situation to be patient. Go out for dinner and small talk with the regular girl you are trying to get a freebie from and finish the night on Hai Ba Trung street. No problem.

Sounds like you mostly stand a good chance of getting a non pro if you are Vietnamese. Duh! Anyone would have told you that. Same race and language. Well who would have thought that would help?

So the chances are small. Ok. Well at least we know there is a small chance but not to go there for a 2 week vacation and expect to get laid every night by non pros. My friend told me that the girls outside of Ho Chi Min city are a lot less expensive and to look for them outside of the tourist area. He has said that there are many for only $10 but you have to get a local to help you. There are many Viet guys marrying white girls here in the states. However, they have to be decent, hard working and not some lazy assholes who hope one day they can attract these girls by their so so looks.
