I arrived on this Friday (3/3/06)afternoon and left on Sunday (5/3/06) afternoon. Flight on Silk Air from Singapore cost S$351, stayed at Panorama hotel, economy room, rate is now US$25(from $22)/night. First option was Trader’s Hotel, but it was fully booked. Price for Superior room in Panorama and standard room in Central Hotel are same, at US$30/night. This price was quoted at the airport hotel counter and also at hotel desk. Visa if you go to embassy yourself 20 d. I got mine from a travel agency in Sukhumvit – 2100 baht for getting it in 2 working days. Expensive .

Myanmar Airlines Int’l (MAI) bought in BKK 8900 baht. Flying time 1h15m. Expensive. Time difference BKK 30 min.

Taxi to town: just say your hotel and 5 d. at the desk on your rigt hand when exiting the terminal and you are on your way. The taxis are wrecks. 20-25 m. to downtown.

Exchange rate as of primo Feb: 1050 k / d.

I had a most memorable and happy end to my trip to Burma with two very contrasting experiences on my last two nights in Rangoon.
