Another board became dominated by posters like Dollars and many of us just stopped posting there. When I checked recently, it had become nothing more than mindless drivel.

The question you have to ask yourself is whose posts do I want to see here. Someone like Bubby Boy who took the time and made the effort to compile a guide to Rio including firsthand experiences, or Dollars, whose only contributions are caustic comments about others.

Put him on your ignore list and don't respond to him. He is just like a child craving attention. Every time he whines, pick him up and it will never end. Mac was civilized and was dealt with in a civilized manner. Dollars is similar to a terrorist who has no respect for anyone or anything. Fortunately, there is really not much damage he can do if we just ignore him. I don't think we need to involve Jackson in this one.

My friends just came back from Rio and here's the latest scoop:

4x4 is alive and well. Cancun is loosing the fight between it and 4x4.

Copa was a mess. The quality of girls are downhill and most of the 9's have left for greener pastures. Avg prices from chicas at Help hovered around $R200+

L'Uomo is right now the kind of the hill during weekends. Best beach action (i.e, pulling a decent 7 to 8) is in Ipanema Beach.

They were not too impressed by the quality in Help. They both took my advise and had a ball in LAPA and Baronecchi in Ipanema.

actually you do not have the right to say whatever you like here. this is not a place where the right to freedom of speech exists and any lunatic can waffle on about what they wish. this board is moderatored and has certain rules and guidelines to what you can post, your posts fail these guidelines on a number of points. specifically - badgering every other person that takes the time to actually post info. unfortunately the 1% of people that do not comply with the posting guidelines can completely kill the forum. unfortunately it seems one of these one of these people appear every month. fortunately they do not last that long.

I must tell you that one of the things that I have enjoyed joining this forum in the last four months is the camaderie. In an age (at least in the USA) where you can find yourself being charged with sexual harassment for flirting or just joking around; joining this forum takes me back to the days when "men were men!" and flirting was an art form and sharing info on P4P was appreciated.

Bubba Boy,

Several of us feel the same way. The latest example is his reply to Papa Wahala. The man asked an honest question in an effort to obtain information, which would be useful to him. Dollars responded in his usual caustic manner. Again providing no information. At the end of his post he added the following sentence as a disclaimer:

I don't mean to be rude!

Yes, you do. Dollars has been a member for less than 60 day, but has 74 posts, which have provide little or no information. Worthless IMHO. Do us all a favor and crawl back under the rocks or back to whatever swamp where you were hidding. We don't like SNAKES here.

The Hotel Intercontinental in Sao Conrado also has tennis courts. I've stayed there several times, and although it's a bit of a drive from Ipanema/Copa, it's girl-friendly, has a great pool with spectacular views of the mountains, is walking distance to the fashion mall, and is close to the Gavea Country Club.

Is it just me or are all of the posts from "dollars" caustic and inflammatory?. He has made 70+ posts, about 65 of them have been quoting other people and basically making a caustic comment. People like this basically ruin this forum, I mean who would bother to take the time to write a decent report, when there are people on this board that exist for no other reason than to belittle every post.

To stop posters like this, simply hit "report this post" to a moderator and let the moderator know of your thoughts. If posters like this are simply ignored it takes forever to get rid of them and will basically kill this forum.

This is a case of mind over matter. I don't mind what you have to say, because what you have to say doesn't matter.

This is a forum to exchange info on Rio and or at least, that is what the forum title says "Rio 2006."
