I'm going to Minsk several times a year and love it so much I set up a business there just to have annual multiple entry visas... I'm enthusiastic about the place, but you can also see in the other reports in this forum that some members had not so memorable experiences.

Basically, everybody agree that girls are gorgeous, are approachable but some fails to bring them to bed. One reason I'm thinking of is that they don't speak Russian, but I understand you do so you may have more chances. But as you've been to Moscow, I must also say that it's easier to get a girl in bed in Moscow than in Minsk (but it's not impossible).

Early September, you still have girls hanging around. During the day, you have tons of them at McDonald and in the parks. At night, they can be found in discos. When I was there last May, the youngest ones were at Madison (www.madisonclub.by), mostly non-pros, but the music is so loud there that it's impossible to hold a conversation. WestWorld has a mixture of pros and non-pros and most tourists go there. Max Show and Alkatraz are places to visit occasionally. If you already have a date, you can bring her to Bronx (www.bronx.by). They have a nice Italian restaurant where you can have dinner, and the club has a nice atmosphere with reasonabe sound level for the music, so you can hold a conversation. Bronx is the place my girl loves the most for a quiet romance hang out.

I have some questions about Minsk, but first some background:

First let me say that I have learnt to trust the reccomendations of this site the hard way. I browsed here before going to odessa, and thought that some reccomendations were just isolated cases- but in my last trip found most of them to be true.

My thing is not really P4P, but looking for freebies (althought this is not the right word since they tend to cost more than P4P in the end) But that's ok :-)
A bit about me I am 25 years old, find it relativelly easy to get girls in the major Western European cities and lived for 1 year in Moscow (speak decent russian and can hold a conversation) and am a sucker for slavic women (who isnt?). My ideal holiday would be arround 10 days and getting +- 3 girls in bed- working arround 3 days for each (i.e showing them a good time and having some fun)

As said before I have been to Odessa and really liked the place (cheaper than western european sea side resorts, good quality of life and a lot of eye candy) However not exactly the easiest places for freebies- girls very open to start with, but it seems that from the moment you approach them they have already decided that they will enjoy as much as possible the good times but nothing will happen. So after some effort one decides to give up another guy comes along, in the end it is amusing to see all masses of guys coming along and been very welcome by the girls, only to find a wall after some hours or days. Is like smelling the honey but not tasting. But no hard feelings I do enjoy some game- when elegantly played-, and If i was a girl there think would do the same. Although, I later discovered that part of the problem was how I played there- first I the smell of honey made me drunk and I thought that the dance floors are the way to go, and insisted for to long there. Since I have realised that those are the world. The places to approach women from worst to easiest are as follow: Dancefloor, bar area, streets during the day, outside the clubs, beach and cafes (if you are in a group).

During this trip I went to Nikolaev for 2 days, and it was a very different story: Quality of life non-existing, not much to do. But the freebies were more approachable than anything I saw. Every girl that we approached in the midlle of the street was a done deal, no rejections encountered. In fact the 2nd night I had the problem of having 3 different girls waiting for me in 3 different cafes (if you call that a problem :-)))

Now I am planning a second trip and would really appreciate any inputs from you guys: I am seeking the best place for slavic freebie. Nikolaev sounds good, but its to small to stay 10 days. So Minsk sounds very nice- a interesting place "" to see, many cafes (something important to pass the time) and as I heard many girls with not that much competition. However I been getting some mixed signals- some say its paradise on earth for freebies. Other says that due to cultural factors- girls are much more closed to sleeping with someone after 2-3 days than in russian.

What do you guys thing about this? And if I go in the first 10 days of September will the weather still be good enough so that people are seating and walking arround the parks (my natural hunting ground)? Do girls feel safe to start conversation with strangers in the street?

If not minsk the other places I would consider are Kharkov, Dnipropetrovsk (more likely) and Simferopool, sevastopool (less likely as they seem to be inside the tourist route- something I want to avoid). The 1st 2 seem to be large but non-turisty places.

What do you guys think of those places for freebies? What about cafes and restaurant speacially in kharkov and Dnipropetrovsk? And what about the weather at the start of september and people walking arround the parks?

Any other ideas?

I would completly avoid transit travelling through Belarus completly if you can avoid it! As Himself's friends have experienced. I was working in Belarus for two weeks and I was travelling by train from Warsaw to Minsk. When I got to the border I was asked to get off the train and the border authorities looked at my visa documents for four hours. They finally let me go and I went on my way.

Even when I left Belaus by train into Lithuania, the Belarus border authorities very closely examined my passport for 30 minutes.

A TV crew were travelling from Chernobyl area into Belarus and they were kept at the border for four hours. And then when they left, th police fined 20 Euros for illegal parking!

I can only suggest like anywhere else in the world, do be expect delays, be patient and do not lose your cool at all! Belarus is not a place to lose you cool.

Below route is not recomended. Some freinds of mine tried same, first long waiting time to get from UA to BY and them even longer time to get from BY to PL. When they were about to leave BY, they were stopped by BY police and taken into the BY border station for control and have to leave their car unattended. When they returned to the car all valuables were removed. When they wanted to report this to the police, they were rejected however they saw a hotline number to call in case of problems with the police, and they then called the hot line number. When some superior police officer arrived, my friends were suddenly charged for a making a false allegation that their car was rubbed when parked on the border stations parking lot, as this as per the police was not possible as the parking lot was under constant police suverliance.... Paid 20USD to escape... without their belongings but with the car....

Sour Honey is perfectly right. I have been in Minsk for 2 weeks now. Mongering is almost impossible now in Belarus. As for the regular girls I can give you a hint. I have a good belarussian friend (young and good looking) and we meet almost everyday to drink beers and chase girls.

Result : a few phone numbers, most of them fake.

In short : Meeting girls in Minsk became a real nightmare if you are here on a short term trip. Even a few weeks won't be enough without a big luck.

- transit VISA (3 days) can be obtained ONLY from "passolstva" (Embassy).

- but you can have it (seems me $35 ) from Kiev Embassy (near street Boghdana Kmelnitskovo, leaving Kreshatik, 7 or 8 streets on the left).
Caution, strange timing! (may be morning, next day afternoon)

- not related to VISA, but serious: roads from Kiev to Poland are literally horribles. At UA/PL "tamoshni" (border) you can wait till 2 days (not joking) in these times. I suggest you to take the transit VISA, enter Belarus at Homel, and after straight to Brest (where you'll take from 4 to 8 hours to pass thru the border.. not joking again) or up to Hrodna (near Latvian border, but still BY/PL) where the time is 3-5 hours. In this last case you can have a stop in Minsk without "detours"), but longer to Germany, if your target is not Berlin, but Bavaria. But in any case, road are MUCH better in BY!!!!


- GANDJIM: iz ruk v ruki is no longer used by pros (very few now) now they use internet sites. But mainly http://intimby.net .... but sorry, moy drug ....is in russian only ... Too bad I haven't read this forum earlier, I'm in Minsk since the last 10 days and would have been pleased to meet with those of you who are still around, but am leaving for Kiev today.

Don't have the time to read all posts yet (am typing while my girlfriend is in the bathroom) but just want to pass on a quick info to Walter88. For newspaper girls, buy the 'Из рук в руки' (Iz ruk v ruki). Ads are under the section 812. Знакомства. Just call and and ask if you can meet with her for 30mn-1hr in her apt or yours. If she's a working girl, she'll give you the price. 'Normal' girls put ads under section 811 to look for marriage, not section 812 with their measures.

Otherwise, I agree that there has been a lot of clean-up everywhere: clubs, hotels, streets and even .... newspapers! There used to be 1.5 to 2 pages of adds; now it's merely 1/4 of a page. All internet escorts agencies I know have closed.

Money is flowing into the country. Building projects everywhere. Barely a decent shop 2-3 years ago, now 4-5 shopping centers under construction (if you've been to hotel Minsk, you've probably noticed the underground center about to open).

Prostitution in Belarus is looked down upon. Even though it is a large city it has a small town feel to it. The girls that are hookers seem to have a sadness or bitterness about them, even the high end beautiful ones. And in a country this poor you would think it would be cheap but it isn't.

It is not because they are uptight about sex because they in general are very much in to it but they want a serious (or semi serious ) relationship before diving in.

I have live 2 years and a half in Minsk and I come back regularly. I must say that Walter88 and CharlieH are completely right!

The Belarusian girls are very suspicious if you don’t have a very strong professional reason to visit their country. The most striking point for me is the fact that all the girls you try too meet always would tell you that "they are not like a lot of easy girls and that if you want sex there are a lot of prostitutes blab la bla . ".

I had a French friend who was like me working at the Embassy. He stayed one year here and almost got crazy because he had so many flirts but he didn’t manage to have sex once! And I must add that he was young and good looking. He was transferred to Kiev where he had a one night stand only after 3 days! I think that it explains a lot of things

I had some girlfriends but it was quite difficult to seduce them. It takes so much time and energy.

It is very frustrating because the Belarusian girls are to my point of you even more beautiful than the Ukrainians and the Russians. The sheer number of hotties is unbelievable. But as I wrote it is a kind of trap. You have the impression to be in a girl paradises but when you start to flirt, even if you are a good looking foreigner with money who speaks Russian well, be prepare to a high rate of rejections. It won’t be flat rejections as in the West in most case but at the end the result will be the same!

Went to Madison Club. There were a number of hot babes. I approached dozens of girls. Many did not even want to speak to me. Most could not speak very good English. I could not find any pro's and none of any of the girls were interested in anything with me that night other than free drinks.

I experienced similar vibes at Madison. You may have similar experiences at the more 'elitny' clubs; hot women but not very approachable/available compared to other clubs. If you want to meet students try Yula, Babylon, Alcatraz on Friday/Saturday or even Max Show.

Do not expect girls to be 'working' as it is more the exception than the rule. The only working girls I came across were heading to Westworld. There were plenty of women walking along Skorini Avenue at night but I haven't been to Minsk in a while.

I agree on many things Walter said.

There's no pros at Minsk hotel. I stayed there during my visit in Minsk. There were always a few beefy securityguards guarding the tiny entrance. And they recognize pretty much all the people staying there, if they see someone who isn't a hotel guest, they'll stop him or her. It happened to my guests.

There were no pros at the lobby whatsoever.

I also agree that Belarussian girls are old fashioned. They're probably good wife materials but if you're only looking for a quick fuck, Minsk isn't the place.

They're also more reserved and quiter than Russians. To sum it up, Belarussian and Polish people are beaten down. Unlike Russians, Belarussians are suspicious about foreigners visiting their country. If you aren't there for business and simply telling them you're there for vacation and to experience their culture, they'll think you're a sex tourist. Russians on the other hand, think they have a proud history and culture. They think they have so much to offer, which they really do. So they won't be suspicious when foreigners travel to Moscow to see the Kremlins, the Bolshoy Theater, etc.

Belarussians sell themselves short. They don't think they have much to offer. That mentality is rather sad. When I approached a girl in a supermarket and asked her out. She first asked me what I was doing in Minsk. I told her I was only there for vacation. Her reaction was rather indignant. Instead of feeling flattered, she was offended. She said to me in perfect English with heavy British accent that if I think Belarussia has the cheapest prostitutes, I'm dead wrong. She said there's nothing to see in her country. I was shocked. I then told her politely that I certainly don't see them that way and I am very interested in Belarussian cuture and so on. She then agreed to go out with me but I changed my mind. I wouldn't want to be with someone that thinks her country only has cheap pizda (pizdi) to offer.

Moral of the story-when asked why you're in Belarus, lie, lie, lie! Tell them you're in there for business. If you tell them you're simply traveling, people will think since their country is so pathetic and has nothing to offer, you must be there for sex.

I think this mentality is even more pathetic then their country's political and economical situation. Like I said, Belarussians and their Polish neighbors have been beaten down for centuries by the Germans, Russians and these days, by their own government. This defeatist/beaten down mentality is deeply rooted in their national psyche. You certainly don't see it in Russians no matter how poor they are. You can see it in their body language, the tone of voice.

However, Minsk is very safe, clean, police is nowhere as corrupt as their Russian counterparts. And I suspect Belarus is probably a better place to find a wife than in Russia. Belarussians don't scew us much. A Minsk native told me that he met a new girl every week while he was living in Moscow but he only gets one girl a year in Minsk. I think that about sums it up.

Guy's let's update the whole scene in Minsk. GandJim's post has been the best so far. So I will start with that. BTW I am in my 20's and a pretty handsome even if a little bit out of shape. I speak basic Russian at least enough to get an address and so on on the phone, to talk to Taxi drivers, and to make a basic approach to girls. I have been in Minsk for several weeks and will be here intermittently through the rest of the year.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The scene here is so much worse than in Moscow! You can be dumb and blind and find what you want in Moscow. Here is it a different story. So guy's stopping adding to the Moscow, Kiev, St. Petersburg, etc. threads in favor of focusing attention on the city much more useful for this board. Please :-D Everyone can easily find there was around the others: either with the present info in those threads or even with no info at all. But poor Minsk is a different story. All of these nice girls and yet so tough to fuck.

MINSK GIRLS

The first thing that will hit you is the amazing number of young and beautiful girls in the streets. Belarussian girls are certainly amongst the most beautiful girls on earth. Different people have different understanding of beauty, so let me try to explain what I like so much in Belarussian girls.

For those of you who have been to St. Petersburg, Kiev and Moscow, do not expect Minsk to be that good. However, there are certainly many Slavic beauties walking around as GandJim says.

1. Not much sun there, so they all have delightfully white and soft skin. No bikini marks here. I can kiss them for hours and, when I come back kissing a girl here or in the US, I have the impression of kissing sanding paper or buffalo skin.

2. Clear and light coloured blue or green eyes. Just hynoptise me.

3. Slim, flat belly. McDonald disaster has not struck yet.

4. Narrow hips, tiny asses. A dream come true.

6. Long and straight legs

They are shorter than St. Petersburg, blonder than Moscow, maybe a little more Polishness than Kiev but they are actually a bit heavier than their Russian and Ukrainian counterparts. You can see some fat girls around. Such is not the case in Moscow, Pete, and Kiev right now. Most are of course in pretty good shape.

7. And if you go into details, light pink tits and (other) lips .

8. Last, but not least, they are gentle, tender, warm, eager to please. They are real sweethearts and I'm seeing some of them just for the pleasure of their company, not for sex.

70% of the girls in the streets are like that. You'll have hard time finding a fat girl. More than half of them have a beautiful face too. 15%-20% are real stunners. Heaven on earth.

Well, I suppose everyone has different standard but I do not find 15% of them stunning. But they are typically Slavic sweet.

And they are all over the places. If you are young (I mean under say 35 yr old) and decent looking (I say decent, not even nice looking or handsome), you won't even have to pay to have sex. You can approach them and start a conversation, they won't lift their nose up and turn their back to you thinking "I'm a Goddess and unapproachable" like they do here.

Well I think that they are more approachable than in the US, but even after several weeks I still don't have a girlfriend. Maybe I am too picky or something I have done is wrong. But they are not all falling over themselve to get to me, and I pretty well off. Plus so far they want a large investment of time for sex. They seem to be much more old fashioned and reserved about sex than in Russia. Actually many more are virgins than other places. Anyway, I don't know how it would be if you spoke fluent Russian, but there are not that many that truely speak enough English for a real relationship. And at least until now the less than great English speakers want too much before sex-- presents and who knows how much time and dates.

Unfortunately for me, I'm over 50 and not decent looking. So I have to pay for sex . Just kidding. In fact, I prefer to pay, so there is no misunderstanding when I ask the girl to leave the next morning and not wanting to see her again. If you're like me, here's some help.

That's where pay for play comes in! Right :-D To hold a guy over until the relationship is sealed.

In principle, prostitution is illegal in Belarus. Therefore, there are only a few night clubs, where you have strip-tease or lap dancing, but no sex. Escort agencies do not advertise openly on the web; they don't say they are in Belarus and don't give phone number on their site. A few girls advertise on the web, at their own risks. It's mainly a "word-of-mouth" business. In newspaper, there are no photos and girls are just looking for "acquaintances".

The Options:

STRIP CLUBS

Versus. Enterance $20, $50 dollars for a private dance which lasts for 10 minutes along the wall on a couch, some touching but depends on the dancer-- I would suggest to confirm up front. A few of them are damn hot. Some speak some English. Next you can have a short small dance for like a minute or maybe 2 for about 10,000 rubles ($5) but it is a tip that depends on you . . . starting at 5,000 rubles. You can pay for a girl to sit with you for half on hour for $30. You can talk to her and maybe grab her butt, stroke her a little bit, and try to get her to let you pay for her outside the club. I was not able to get any of them to meet me outside the club. Also the club is small and has maybe 12 dancers.

HOTEL GIRLS

If you stay in a hotel and are not accompanied, chances are that you will receive a telephone call asking if you want company. There are also girls staying in the lobby. They speak English. They are however not the most attractive, some look well worn-out, and are expensive. For the sake of research, I asked some girls at hotel Belarus, and they wanted 150 USD overnight, which usually mean until 6-7am. There were 7-8 girls that night, only one doable for me.

I am not staying in a hotel, but I did go to Minsk hotel on a Friday and Saturday night. I did not see any pro's at the bar when I stopped in to look (at 10 and 12). (How can you tell if they are pro? In this case no one was there so I could tell ;-D )

DISCO GIRLS

Next to hotel Belarus, there is a disco, WestWorld. It opens as from 8pm, but there in nobody before midnight or even 1am.

Some working girls sitting at the bars there. They speak English. Same price as in the hotel. A real stunner asked me 200 USD overnight, but remember I look like the perfect tourist.

Younger (or more decent looking) guys just have to approach the normal girls there and talk to them. My private guide asked a group of young girls if any of them would be interested in making a few extra bucks with me : 80 to 100 USD overnight, for girls looking twice better than the pros.

In WestWorld, there is a strip club upstairs, called Dolls. To be avoided : small room with lap dancing only. The girls going pole dancing for free in the public area are better than the lap dancing girls in Dolls.

I am interested in checking out the club scene in Minsk. Went to Reactor. Supposed to be a student hang out. I had absolutely no luck, but it was not very crowded at all (bad night).

Went to Madison Club. There were a number of hot babes. I approached dozens of girls. Many did not even want to speak to me. Most could not speak very good English. I could not find any pro's and none of any of the girls were interested in anything with me that night other than free drinks. Got a few fake phone numbers. One girl asked me to dance with her and then ran away afterwards. Quite a bust! Any tips about this club or my approach. Usually I just said hello or zdrastvoitye and then maybe "Do you speak any English?" in Russian or maybe "I hope you speak English because I like you." in English. A few times I asked if they were working in Russian. I have no idea how to tell if they are pro's. Also it would be nice to have a guide who could show me the ropes and proposition semi-pro's or non-pro's for me. If anyone know one, PM me.

STREET GIRLS

They stay at bus stops, mainly on Masherow Avenue (in particular the stops near hotel Yubileinaya and the Moscow Cinema House) and on Frantsisk Skorina Avenue (in particular the stops in front of the Circus and near Pobedy Square). Usually, there are about 10 girls at these bus stops already by 10pm but, last week, they came out only after midnight and there were only about 5-6 per bus stop. Maybe there is something to do with the 60 year celebration. My guide asked a stunning girl with legs to die for. She asks 40 USD one hour, 100 USD overnight. The other ones must be cheaper. Many of these girls don't speak English.

Another pick up place is the parking space next to Yakub Kolas Square. There you sometimes have one or two mamouchkas. You stop in the parking, she comes to you to tell you the girls she has. if you're interested, she then calls the girl(s) who are hidden somewhere nearby. I went back there last Monday by 11pm, but there were no mamouchkas that night. Don't know if they change places or aren't there yet.

To pick these girls, you just ask a taxi to drive you around and ask the price for you. They all know the places (and certainly places I don't know about).

The Street Scene has been very bad of late. It seems as if the police are bound to eliminate it. The price is $40 for an hour and $100 for the night-- according to a few taxi drivers the price is standardized, so no need to pay more if they try to add the foreigner tax. The hots spots are along Prospect Skariny (Nesivisimosty) from the circus until past Maxshow. Also on Marasheva as GandJim mentioned. Yakub Kolas seems very dead for pro's now. No mamachka's to speak of! The taxi drivers seem to know where to go, so just hope in with one and he will take you around. All of the official taxis in Minsk are metered and very fair rates. The best time is supposed to be after midnight until 2 with more through until morning. However, I have been out in the early morning and was not able to find any girls except for one ugly one (a Saturday night). Also there was no one out on a Sunday night at 1:00am. I will let you guys know if and where things pick up.

INTERNET GIRLS

http://www.intimby.net http://www.minskgirls.net http://www.date.by Tried one girls from minskgirls.net, she was not the same as in the picture. 21 has children, independent, not very attractive for $50 for the hour. Wanted extra for BBBJ like $10, but then she said it included CIM. Could come 2 times in one hour. Overall, disappointing if you want to enjoy beauty but if you want a BBBJ and CIM, not bad I guess. Not a realible way to find anyone. But perhaps you will hit gold, I don't know. Also you will need to be able to speak some basic Russian to eventually find a girl who doesn't hang up and who might actually come to you.

NEWSPAPER GIRLS

In the local newspaper, you have adds for girls looking for "acquaintances". No photos, and in Russian only. They give some details on them, usually something like "Tatiana, 20/170/58, blonde, bla bla bla, phone number", which means 20 yr old, 170 cm height, 58kg weight. some also add "90/60/90', which are her measurements. By preference, I pick up adds where there are 2 girls.

Indications are usually correct. You have some funny ads like "Olga, 42/164/64". Didn't call her.

They usually do not speak English, so you need to speak Russian fluently (or have somebody calling them for you).

It's hit and miss, as you can't see how they look like. You can hit gold as you can hit shit. My guide called a few for me this time, more in my next report on my trip. Price is 30 USD one hour for most of them.

Some girls will then give you address of her building, but not of her apartment. You need to call her again when you arrive, and she'll give you apartment number and buzz you in, if she hasn't taken another client in the meantime. Remember however that Minsk is well spread out, and it can take you half an hour to get to some outer suburbs.

Some girls can also come to your apartment.

Have not tried the newpaper ones yet. Have not seen them in a newpaper actually. Which ones are best? How do you know which are pro's?

ESCORT GIRLS

There are some escort agencies in Minsk, with high class girls looking like top models and speaking English (or German). Problem is again that it's word-of-mouth and email address, phone number changes. Last Sunday, I was not able to contact any agency (all phones switched off). On Monday, I met with Helena's agency, but too late. She only has 2 girls left. Her price is 250 euros for 5-6 hours. After I'm back, she sent me some photos, and she has real stunners.
