Agreed on for the most part and I believed this for years but have found a few good deals in the alley. As far as a "better deal" on El Cajon that is if you don't end up doing time, paying fines and losing your vehicle in the process. Those days are long gone for me. It's not worth the risk IMO.

And yes, you should always be nice but remember this:

I will certainly spend more time with small talk next time to put them more at ease. While always polite and respectful (quite the opposite of your example), I must admit to approaching them on the blunt side after only a short greeting (which always works fine in AB). I now see that it takes more finesse in the alley. Initially this seems a bit contrary to my initial impression because many of the reports have said how these chicas are all business in most cases (except for the rare mongers who repeat several times). Perhaps one needs to put them at ease more because safety and risk are more of an issue in the alley than in the more controlled and secure AB.

I shall take the info to heart and report back.
