Alvaro an trustworthy english speaking taxi driver told me he could set me up with a nice apartment for inexpensive when I return to Medellin. I have been in contact with him at least once per week since I returned to the states. He has found apartments for other mongers who have been very satisfied with his services. Give him a call it can't hurt.
This is Alvero's cell number from Medellin:
316-252-2882
From the U.S.:

Tell him Scooby from Calif. referred you.

The Novelty charges $25 bucks per night, nice place walking distance to the Mall and food. Clean and great view, I would return to this place.

Garotoz:
I've been going to Medellin for over four years now. I've never heard of the "Hotel Porton de la Diez."
Where is it located ? What are the rates ?
I assume this is not the " Hotel Park Diez /Hotel Park 10."

You get what you pay for here in Colombia just like anywhere else. Out for a ride yesterday and hit 2 of the low price options to get an idea what was available. First stop, Miel y Canela, a little hard to find but after a few trips the wrong way down the one way we arrived! The outside is plain and dirty, the buzzer for the door high left, kinda hard to see or find. The girl that let us in was in training for the next Hot Dog eating contest in New York, I mean the hams on her were line backer quality! Inside there were maybe 6 girls playing poker and eating, they were good at eating, they all were prime pork. One doable the rest scrap. Then some Cracked out guy comes out of the back mumbling something and all the Madam did was shake her head when he got pissed he couldn't play cards, time to go. A couple of 2000 peso cokes and out of there! Whoo what a dive, Next stop, New Life, close to downtown, bad parking, but easy to find on Bolivia, upstairs the place was cramped with small area to view the girls, same as most introductions and pick, the attendant was a cool guy named Yugo, very professional and offered beer, water or coke upon arrival, a few other locals there and out of 12 or so girls 4 were 6. 5 to 8's. No real beauty but nice selections for all taste. I picked a cinamon skinned long legged beauty named Lorena, the best looker but the first dry fuck I have had in Colombia, even after 10 minutes of foreplay, I mean the latex was starting to burn after 20 minutes of pounding that ass, she was moaning, hell, I started to suggest some oil from the massage but I kinda enjoyed the moaning, Over all? I would give the place a thumbs up, good location, good selection, clean rooms, service with a smile, but needs expansion of the viewing area. Spent 45 minutes with girl and my buddy had no Viagra so he went 30 minutes, cost for the both of us with one beer and one coke, 75, 000 pesos, he he he, 31. 75 USA. Life is sweet!

Posts: 326One night I was with Alvaro (the english speaking taxi driver) his & my novias, heading up to my novias house in the Calcedo barrio of Medellin to meet her parents. We went on streets that twisted and turned always going up it was a trip and I would never be able to find it again. Anyway, Alvaro had a small leak in his tire, so we pulled over to this tire place way up in the barrios to get some air. While Alvaro was getting air, I walked across the street to this little mom & pop store, that are everywhere, to pick up some booze and some small gifts for my novias parents. After I finished I looked back acroos the street to see Alvaro working on his taxi. I looked down the street as saw some people laughing and having fun. I walked about 100 ft down the street to where about 5 or 6 people were gathered listening to music & drinking. Lucily one of them spoke english and we had a great time telling stories and drinking.
When I looked back across & up the street a little while longer, I noticed that Alvaro, the girls & the taxi were gone. After standing there scratching my head for a couple of seconds and letting that sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach subside I thought, Oh shit what am I going to do now I don't even know where I am. But keeping my head I pulled out the cell phone, I rented from the Mansion, the Bello taxi business card they provide for me and started to call for another taxi.
Then, I looked up toward the store that I had just came out of 15 minutes earlier and there they were in front of the store looking up & down the street for me. With a small sigh of relief I walked over to them and said whatcha looking for, they were all in a panic about where I was. It was kind of funny they were more worried than me. They were worried I had wandered off and gotten in some sort of trouble Alvaro said don't do that again it could be dangerous.
Maybe because Im very used to being in unsafe places and fitting in or maybe Im just plain stupid, but wandering around does not bother me. I figure If I get killed, oh well, Ive led a fulfilling life & I have no wife or kids to worry about supporting. I am not going to let fear dominate my being, I want to live life to the fullest & I really enjoy meeting new people. I do realise that philosophy of life isn't for everyone and I certainly am not advocating it for anyone. We all have to make a choice on how we live I chose not to be afraid. That night I met some great locals and had a bit of fun it was great.

I went to Antioquia region and while in the charming colonial city my driver and I stopped off at a bar. Iīm sorry I donīt remember the name but it is at the opposite end of town from the church and the street is a cross street. The door is painted black and you enter by going down stairs. There are between 20 and 30 girls there. Some very attractive, most were lean. The local rate is 20k for the girl, 5k for the room, but as a gringo I was given a much higher price, so stick to the lower prices. I got worked a little. The rooms are basic, no shower in site, all condom country and best suited for the younger mongerer, ie. no foreplay, and you better be horny, because somebody else is waiting.

Here's a brief recap of my visit to Medellin - or Colombia for that matter. I hope it's helpful to those who're pondering a trip but have misgivings about safety or truth-in-advertising.
A buddy and I arrived from the States on Tuesday and stayed at an out of the way house-turned-hotel in a quiet neighborhood called Belen. We spent the first couple of days doing tourist stuff (the tramway, Botero park, Pueblito Paisa, etc.) Knowing nothing about Colombia except what we read in the papers, we didn't know how safe it would be. There certainly were soldiers and cops everywhere, but that only added to our sense of safety.
On day three we got down to business, each going his way. My plans were to visit the casas, but as I chilled at Bolivar park after a morning of sightseeing, I committed a crime of opportunity. Her name was Cristina, 19, and she wore a short black dress. She sat next to a vendor and smiled as me and my guide. The hookup was fast. A couple of words exchanged in Spanish and off we went to an hour hotel a block away next to a seafood store (?!).
There was another couple going in at the same time, so I didn't think there was much risk of being robbed or set up. Off comes the dress and the red thong. DFK, CBJ, cowgirl w/cover for 20,000 Col pesos. Good attitude and reasonable skills. No apparent health hazards.
Next day, I was first in line at the opening of Samsara (Cra. 33 at 65). Went up the stairs to the unmarked door, rang the bell and was greeted by Berenice, the administrator. In her early 20s, she's good enough to do, but she wasn't selling that day. Instead, she hooked me up w/Irina (Irene?), light skinned, 18, very good attitude. She showered, came back to the room in a towel and had her tongue in my ear and up and down my neck before I could squeeze a word. Spent 50,000 pesos and about 40 minutes rolling on a mattress unceremoniously placed in the middle of the room. Good low-budget experience. I had read in some post somewhere this place could be trouble, but my experience there was good.
Went out to a bar and went on to New Life a couple of hours later. Ended up with Alejandra, 18, short and cute, with unblemished light skin. Don't remember how much I paid for an hour (50 or 70K), but it was worth it. She's very friendly and even after we done she reminded me we still had a few minutes left and that it was alright to cuddle. I guess she felt treated right. Coming out of New Life I was staring at an empty street somewhere close to downtown, I guess. Started walking up and down till I spotted the little yellow bugs. There was still sunlight and I wasn't approached by anyone, I wasn't kidnapped or felt unsafe in any way. I was even able to go into a small grocery store and ask for directions. Made it safely to the hotel and started packing, as I was moving to El Castillo the next morning, but I'll post that report on the Medellin Mansion thread.

If you go to Medellin Lists and scroll back you will see that Uncazadorez did just that. He took my Medellin Cheat Sheet renamed it and reposted it on ISG, with out giving credit to me the original author. YET, I could care less, my ego is not that big where I'd get upset about such silly stuff. At very least I did give Radioman credit for his work.
I met Radioman in Medellin and he did not seem like the kind of person who would care. He told me in Medellin, that he was going to write an SG Guide so that others could learn from his experience. I took that to mean he wanted to share it with everyone.
On the other hand, I do understand your point about CH & ISG being business competitors. Each trying to keep their sites the most informative, therefore, attracting paying subscribers (capitalism at its best). Being a business man myself, and a stanch supporter of capitalism, that is something I do understand, so therefore from this day forth I will not repost any material, from other sites, without the explicit permission of the original author.
If I made an error in judgement by attempting to share & repost Radioman's SG Guide than I apologize.
