Most Chinese will not mess with foreigners, because the government seriously takes this kind of things. I personally know a case which one guy paid his life for armed robbery. Next time, call the cops for helping.

Interesting response, Tomcat. Do you typically shrug off unsolicited advice, or are you just suspicious by nature? Seeing how you've apparently spent time in Columbia, one would think that you wouldn't blink an eye to a story like this.

I did not write this up because I was bored -- I just hoped that this might give someone a couple things to think about before walking into any similar situation.

Nirvash, just go back and read, you will find some very good tips. Me and other guys gave some street names where you can get decent actions. Don't pay more than 120 Yuan for a pop or 50 for a HJ in the BBS.

Not all of the girls in Chengdu qualify as fresh. Stopped by a BBS near Yulin XI Lu and had a pick of 3 girls, my choice was the only 1 that could have been considered fresh. The other 2 were, well, more than slightly used.

As for Chengdu itself, I agree it is a great place, but to say the weather is fantastic year round is pushing it. You have not lived through the rainy, damp, and cold winters of Chengdu. Come December and January, please talk to me about the 'fantastic' weather of Chengdu. I think your opinion will have changed.

There are definitely some "older models" on the road here in Chengdu just like every big city in the world, but if you ever want to test drive a shiny new red sports car, just let me know and I can through you a bone. Because they can be found everywhere, there's no reason to settle for less.

Regarding the Winters here in Chengdu, you're are right that it's cold and wet, but thankfully there are no Siberian Winters blowing down from the Arctic like the top half of China. It definitley doesn't compare with Hawaii, but few places do in China at 30 degrees north latitude. Even my hometown of Southern California has crappy weather in January with ice on the ground in the early mornings. In terms of China, some think the best year-round weather is Kunming, but the sun is very intense -- and not many hotties.

I typically prefer both lighter-skinned Chinese women and lots of choices when making a selection, unless I'm in one of my "brownie" binges. Even then though, Chengdu offers me a very nice selection to choose from.

The punishment is double for mess with a foreign vs a local but that usually does not stop them since they know that foreigners have the money and usually have a language problem therefore rarely report the crime.

In Chengdu for a few days for the first time and thought I'd give the scene a whirl. The Sichuan women definitely are as good looking as friends had mentioned, so I thought I couldn't go wrong, especially after reading through some reports here.

I went out for dinner, then after wandering for awhile without seeing anything appropriate, made the mistake of asking a pedicab to take me to a sauna/massage place.

He took me to a 3-star local hotel in the area, near the Tian Qiao called Xin Hua, where another fellow was waiting outside to take me in. My first suspicion would be that the driver would take a cut -- he didn't though. The other guy took me up to the hotel and we talked prices. 100 RMB for one shot, 200 RMB for all-you-can-eat for 2 hrs. Sounded too good to be true, but I was still thinking of lowball prices from some of the reports, and it was a local place, so why not.

The upshot of it was that we went up to the 6th fl and I waited in a nice room, with shower, round bed, and separate waiting room, while he went and got girls. On the second round, I picked a cute, tall Tibetan girl with western features.

It was an uninspiring 15 minutes after which I fired the first shot across the bow. To my surprise, she started dressing. I half-expected her to do this and for me to have to do the "he-said-she-said" thing, but she next said that she would go get the greeter guy.

I had a sinking feeling when the door opened and two rough looking guys came in. Of course they asked what the problem was, and as I was explaining, knowing I was about to get shaken down, a third guy entered. They told me to get dressed, and as I did in the other room, they migrated into the inner room. We got into an argument and I made a bad mistake -- tried storming past the guy in the doorway. Next 30 secs were a lot of fists, and now I had 4 guys in the room, two of them holding me.

Not good for the home team. Basically, they said that the price wasn't right, the guy was new, didn't know what he was talking about, etc. etc. They started telling me to empty my pockets. The good was that I did not bring my wallet and only brought 600+ RMB on me. The bad was that I also had a $900 Tag Heurer and a $500 PDA phone.

They started in on the good cop, bad cop bit, and we spent the next solid hour going back and forth. They asked a lot of questions to figure out if I had money (I played at being a student on holidays). Fortunately, I was staying at a local hotel and the room key showed that. Initially, they were claiming that the total cost was 2000 RMB. I virtually kissed my phone and watch goodbye. I was sure that we would next be taking a trip to my hotel room where things would get really ugly. Eventually, I kept acting as if I couldn't believe they wouldn't honor the 200 RMB quote and eventually they said that they would waive everything but the fee for the girl at 500 RMB. I was counting myself lucky at this point, if that was really all it would take, but I still kept guilting them a bit, claiming that they were taking advantage of me, why would they do this to another Chinese, etc.

When I went to leave, one of the guys felt bad enough that he gave me back a 100. Another guy walked me out and genuinely seemed sorry that this had happened. He actually warned me against trusting cabbies, etc. Pretty funny, ironically.

So, to wrap up, here's what NOT to do (or at least what I won't do again -- your mileage may vary):

- Get tips from anyone I don't know
- Walk in with anyone who doesn't represent management
- Double and triple-check in detail the price arrangements
- Accept without suspicion a price that seems way too good to be true
- Carry any identification, wallet, excess cash, watch, cell phone (just my choice)
- Try to get frisky with 4 guys in a room

Before you ask, I did get the address and hotel with the intent of going to the police, but although you guys will say this is the wrong thing to do, frankly, I'm not going to report it based on it being a lesson for only 400 RMB and a split lip. I think what the real scam was that the price was misrepresented, but wonder how much worse it would have been if I had any real cash or indication or wealth on me, or perhaps didn't speak the language.

Do´s and don’ts

Well I don’t know I just try to be me, nobody understand anything anyway hehehe

Prime hotel is Ok 350 rmb night, good sauna with xxx service.

Ask for number 88 and you will get a hell of a bbbj (one of the best I ever had) and take the VIP room with the red rope heheh. (Damage 6-800 rmb)

In the evening you have a lot of service offer outside the hotel.

Tell them to send the girl to the room and it have to be a good one, then when the fist one arrives you refuse and they will start to send the hot ones (damage 3-500rmb)

I always refuse the first one in saunas, massage and this type of service.

They have better ones waiting and there is a lot to choose from.

And there are awesome good looking girls in business here and 7 out of 10 is a hit in bed hehehe

I am (most of the time) a lazy one so this is the options I go for.

If you like walking around.

I have been to Xindu park ones (look in the forum for more info about that one) but I find it difficult to find hot girls here and (like me) if you are alone it can be difficult to go out from some massage places ones you have gone in.

They usually try to take you to the room before the send the girl and if you don’t like what they offer it can be uncomfortable to go , but mostly is OK and if you want to search there are really hot girls here to (I have seen on the streets walking..uhu) but not in the places I have been shown .

They will also drag you here and there in different back alleys to check girls (damage 150 -300 rmb)

Probably super fun places to walk around if you talk Chinese I only check the places where the straight offer F jobs.

Otherwise you can go to the south end of the big walking street close Prime hotel, grab a Pedi cab and he will likely show you around to find xxx, (take the one that show you the F signal and nod, then give sign that you only look no need to understand chinese)

A good way in the evening is to have a map and look lost that seems to be the signal for I need an F session.

That works almost everywhere in asia. heheh

Damage 150-400 rmb + the driver’s fee and you will get a sightseeing tour around that red light side of Chengdu.

The bar scene I will try to check out in the end of the week and report if I find something of interests.
