I don't know any specific places in MNL, but I did use a T/A located at the now torn down MNL Midtown Hotel.

In Cebu, the concierge at the Marriott took care of it, adding P500 to the total cost (I think the "quick" extension was P2,100. Marriott just took it to the T/A on 3rd Flr at Ayala and had them process it). You want to be careful, as you have to also provide your passport and I'm skeptical about trusting anybody with it.

In La Union, staff at Bali Hai Resort had it processed for me. Ditto for the P500 fee.

In Davao, no T/A knew what the H*ll I was talking about, but offered to accompany me, for a fee, to the office. I declined, dressed up (long pants, shoes, socks and a collar shirt) and had it done in a couple of hours. Dressing "appropriately" (business casual) is a must or they will turn you away. This gave me a total of 59 days (original 21 days included) to stay in the Phils.

There are Immigration offices in MNL, Cebu, Davao, San Fernando (La Union) and Laoag City in Ilocos Norte. There are probably others, these are just the ones I know of.

Larry, in the Philippines meeting her parents is an important step (for her) in establishing a permanent relationship. It is one way for her to test your seriousness to such end. I’ve done it on several occasions and never had family to interfere but they will frequently talk your ear off asking you very personal questions about yourself. So be prepared.

Well, I met a woman at 2pm, then met her parents at 3pm, was giving her a good root at 5pm, and then she tried to scam me after I left the city.

A good sign for what? Geesh.

Okay, I'll assume you are looking for a good girl to marry. Meeting her family is a great way to get the ball rolling. If you just want to get laid, it might be a bad sign. I've had some interesting experiences meeting family and friends, although some guys here wouldn't be bothered. For many "good" Filipinas you'll have to meet a family member or expect a chaperone. Unfortunately, a good family doesn't always guarantee a good girl.

Correct,But try to stick to the larger Reputable ones,Not the hole in the wall s.Somebody with a PHILTOA Philippine Tour Operators Association or PTAA Phililippine Travel Agents Association Sticker Displayed.These guys get expelled if they rip people off.So the have to behave

Any Serious PI Travel Agent can get you an extension up to 59 Days easily from the Immigration people without too much hassle.

If I want to stay longer I need to prepare a Visa by the Philippines Embassy in Germany. Is this true or can I get such a longer Visa also at the Airport in Manila or somewhere else in Manila?

They are fun a couple of hours. I don't recommend long distant, day or overnight trips, unless you are really into exotic adventures and exploration. They are not luxury liners and depends on weather, may be a little too bumpy.

I also recommend you take a dramamine an hour before you board.

ge says the lack of money is the root of the problem. but the families who own the philippines are loaded and their family relatives who are bishops and generals do not lack for a buck either.

cl complains those he trained high tail it to dubai. maybe they prefer a living wage to a pittance. cl has also previously praised “venture capitalists” funding pawn shops as some kind of budding pioneers instead of the leeches that they are and that they were in dickens’ time in england. no country needs those people. they are an utter disgrace to humanity and should not be consorted with but avoided like the moral lepers they are.

ge goes on about the lack of infrastructure for it in mindanao. but what infrastructure is there for anything? comparing india to the philippines is like comparing oranges to mondays. if the attraction is dirt low wages, don’t expect growth. plus any projects would have a swarm of connected families around the honeypot; their greed is as insatiable as their sense of moral and social moral purpose is non existent. they are the ultimate sore on the people of the philippines.
as regards university graduates, most are picking up a yellow pack degree so they have some chance of a job, any job. as regards the white tsunami of nurses, they have a bad name overseas. great bedside manners but not able to change a bandage. the fact that the great state of texas relies havily on pinoy teachers is also of interest

compare and contrast with thailand, a country most of its natives wish to stay in and which has a sizeable expat population and a structured tourist industry. thailand has progressed whereas the philippines has regressed. why? poverty is not the reason. pinoys have good names on building sites and as merchant seamen. they work. but in their own country, they get ripped off by the biggest shower of thieves ever assembled since christopher colombus and the ayala family set sail to [CodeWord123], plunder and pillage.

true,even if i pay above average wages by pi standards i cannot afford to pay them dubai wages.i do not fault them for that,in fact i wish them well but it is a hassle to train again sigh....regarding the philippine culture of corruption,i totally agree with you,i see how they steal steal and steal.the main business of the powers that be is still mining and peace and order.thats mine thats mine thats mine......... and give me a piece of your business and thats an order!!!!!!
