I just wanted to second the comments on learning Spanish. Without speaking the language, you still won't have much trouble getting sex, but it will likely be more of a business transaction than it would be if you could communicate and get to know each other.

What if you don't have the time to go take classes or spend six months listening to language CDs? Here are a couple of things you can do.

On a recent trip with a non-Spanish speaking friend, we each had a girl for the night but he complained about feeling left out of conversations when the four of us were together. Although I speak Spanish, I always have a Spanish-English dictionary with me, and my friend grabbed it and it turned out to be much more than just a means for looking up words for him and his girl.

He told me they spent their first hour in the room lying side by side on the bed looking up words in the dictionary, trying to figure out what the other was saying. Soon they were joking about some of the words they found, or teasing each other over their attempts to pronouce the words correctly. The result of that interaction was that in a short time they actually got to know each other very well, despite the extremely limited number of words they actually learned. They had an awesome time together, but having that dictionary gave them a place to start.

Keep in mind that in many parts of the world you'll meet chicas who don't know how to read, so this won't always work.

But they all know how to dance. Get her to show you some dance steps. You won't need a word of Spanish to have a lot of fun interacting if you're dancing with her. Bring a little radio, some way to play music in your room, a radio will pick up the local music and that's all you need. Just do me a favor and don't play it so loud that I have to listen to it through the wall if I'm next door in my room playing music of my own! ;-)

Of course if she's totally hardcore none of this may make much difference, then you'll need some Spanish just for the negotiations. But in general, if your communication with her is purely about sex, then sex you'll get; but interacting with her in other ways and about other things can establish a connection that will make the encounter that much better, even if you can't speak the language.

All that said, I still highly recommend learning the language, but if you want to travel and you don't speak the local lingo, don't get discouraged, there are still plenty of ways to communicate.

In my recent trip to Medellin I was amazed at how many "hobbyists" down there think that they are guaranteed a gfe merely as a birth right. "I'm Americano so Colombian women will love me" without a second thought to being able to have a conversation with her in her native language!

Ain't that the truth! With or without Spanish, guys are setting themselves for a bad time with this kind of attitude.

I do a lot of travelling throughout the region and you are 100% correct. Communication is key - and if the chica does not speak your language, you better speak hers. It improves the whole situation enormously - because even if she is a ten it gets just boring if you can't communicate.

On the Portuguese issue, I have found that the Portuguese speaker can actually understand Spanish quite well but not always vice versa. However, you will always manage if you speak Spanish. Don't let that be a hinderance to visiting Brazil! Brazil is Disneyland for sex. VZ, Colombia, Peru are heaven! (Haven't been to DR yet!)

Wow, talk about TMI (Too much in formation).

I agree that in some cases, metadata can definitely be TMI. There is software available that can strip out that data leaving you with a clean image to post.

I believe IrfanView has an option to exclude EXIF data when saving files after resizing.

You definitely don't want to leave your dick hanging too far out there.

Chicas like the girl in that picture are a Dime a dozen on even the worst night at Classico. .......So If you wanna see a room full of porn star, or playboy magazine model looking chicas you will not find them in one location in the DR. But they are there throught the country. .......So for those of you have never gone to DR, this is what you can expect on a daily basis..

I've been ausente from the board for a bit but I'm enjoying the discussion. The gist of the conversation seems to be "all right so I've done Sosua and its got its pluses and minuses - what other places should I consider for my next trip?" Brazil?

Helpmann and George90 are both sharp guys and I've enjoyed their contributions in the past. Being able to communicate with the girls is an enormous ventaja (advantage) and it can easily turn an average vacation into gfe paradise! I have never been to Brazil because I don't speak Portugués but I am fluent in Spanish - and I feel I've evolved beyond the level of waving to a girl, pointing to the bulge in my pants and grunting. (lol) A successful trip to me means that I'll be able to communicate.

Learn Spanish it will pay dividends in the long run!

Of course once you've learned Spanish then you're equiped to tackle Colombia and Venezuela. Both are beautiful countries with hordes of gorgeous women, plus they are both a good bit closer than the shores of Sao Paolo and Rio. Caracas and Medellin should be your first journey to SA.

One problem that I had to even shake myself form was being too picky. When you go to DR and Probably other places your standards will rise very very high. I found myself on the bad nights at the disco thinking there is nothing in here. But there were plenty of Chicas like Titas Grande and Jessica walking about. That's when I think about that plane right home. And I think about how I would act if some of these same chicas were back home? How enthusastic would I be to fuck these chicas back home? If the answer is -- I'd act like a kid in candy store and hell yeah I'd fuck that chica, then I know I'm going home happy.

One question, in my quest for knowledge, what other board do you post on?

I travel a lot to South America and soon will have the DR in my patch. A lot of the Caribbean has been very, very disappointing so I have high hopes I can find a "home" in the DR.

Right-click on a picture and select Properties. Click on the Summary tab and, if necessary, click on "Adanced > >".

Wow, talk about TMI (Too much in formation). Thanks for the tip though. Nice to chat with a real photo pro. I used to have an SLR Camera, and you are right they are to bulky. It's not digital. So it sits on in my closet collecting dust. I know they have digital ones, but like you said I'm not that serious about photography.
